Fiance bought a used computer for my birthday and of course something was wrong. It would power off after 5 minutes. Not wanting to order parts and go through all this trial and error I called in since they work on Saturdays. They were hired to replace our email server, and we were told that the email would be down for 4-5 hours. I have been using the services of this company for my desk top computer for several years. They did a decent job over the years until recently when I switched to windows 10. Ryan, the co-owner took my computer and was to bring it back on a week day between 2 and 3pm. On delivery day, Ryan came strolling in around 4:30 pm with no apologies to hook up my computer with windows 10.. Within a day, I was unable to get onto the internet, and he blamed a bad port from the my service provider Frontier communications when he did a return call to my house. The port issue with Frontier was settled but the Frontier tech that came to my house also noticed that the computer was not wired and set up correctly. Ryan sent a text message asking me if i thought he should charge me for his return visit. This guy has no loyalty, did not give me an estimate for installing windows 10, and I felt that it was too much of a coincidence i lost the internet when he returned with my windows 10. There are a lot of computer repair companies out there, so I would recommend that a consumer should look somewhere else first. read more

We had this Guy "Ryan" come to fix our computer which the operating system was fouled. A red flag arose when he arrived without a lap top computer, and needed to take our hard drive to his house. He had many discs, and was very nice so we let him take the hard drive. He came back earlier than expected because he "went to a friends house to borrow a computer" but it didn't work? then my friend came over, he asked her if she had a computer, she allowed him to borrow her laptop to fix our computer . after $120 and 4 hrs our computer seemed to be working. after 24 hrs the computer started developing the "same issues" it had before we had it fixed, when we called him he said "well, it sounds like something different so if it is I will have to charge you for my services" At that point we have decided to decline him to come and consider it a lesson learned. I hope to save someone else from spending good money, for not good service. read more

I totally agree with Marc C. who wrote a review on 6/21/14. I ALSO wish there was a way to give ZERO stars. I had a horrible experience with this company. I got a referral from someone to call this place regarding trying to fix my MAC. A guy by the name of Ryan came out to my house twice and began to so call work on the computer. Granted I did ask him to try to get it to work for something I needed for business but not one thing improved and all he did was download a bunch of stuff and sat there and watched it. He could have said this is going to take awhile and left so I wouldn't be charged for him just staring at the computer. I was slapped with a $225.00 bill for absolutely nothing! And they kept saying this was a discount. I don't mind paying for services rendered when I think I have something to show for it. I just think there should have been a little bit of a break and a warning that I was being charged for what turned out to be nothing! But they wouldn't budge. In addition, Ryan's "office manager" kept calling me and accusing me of ignoring her phone calls and said they were trying to collect payment. I just couldn't get anything straight with them. I have been a client of A Better Computer Doctor for the last five years. It's very important to have someone that you can trust service your computer, and I trust them. They have done tune-ups and clean-ups on my computer, and they helped me when it was time to upgrade my computer, giving me some advice on what to look for on my next computer, based on how I use it and my preferences. And when a "prognosis" is given when the repair guy determines what's wrong, they will give you the less expensive options --if there are some. (They're not out to "take" you to the cleaners.) They're familiar with older computers, but are also able to work on the newer technology. Even though I am not as knowledgeable as others when it comes to computers, they never "talk down" to me or act condescendingly towards me--another quality I appreciate in a tech person.
