They came out knowing we didn't have running water because our pump stopped running. Told us a ridiculous price to have it all fixed (new pump, new water tank, new piping, and pit less adapter) which was 13,000!!!! We called another company to come out and quoted us 6,000 that's less the half the quote they give us. This plumbing company is horrible. They replaced my outdoor faucet and it leaked. I had to keep calling them to come fix it until I got sick of calling. I asked the plumber to replace the new leaking faucet but he ignored me, and I wish I had insisted because they charged way too much for the new faucet. He actually told me I had to turn it all the way up so it wouldn't leak. I doubt he would say such a ridiculous thing to a man. I unfortunately waited too long past the warranty to get them to come back and make good by me even though they knew the faucet was crap from the star. Instead now all the manager does is argue that I didn't call sooner. read more

New bathroom remodel. TLDR; 2 stars because in spite of the issues incurred, corrected and ongoing, the bathroom ultimately passed inspection. Not the worst or most expensive plumber I have dealt with. Issues as follows: Original plumber assigned to my job worked half days and called out half the days they were scheduled. (e.g. One day after arriving on site I was told the assistant didn't want to work that day so the pair left. A second time they called out because specialized equipment for the job broke over the weekend.... They were roughing in the PVC drain. There is no "specialized" equipment required.) Did not install bathroom per plan. (e.g. sink drain and water lines on wrong wall, ejector pit not in proper location, etc.) This lead to push back and arguing on several occasions when I would inspect their work at the end of the day and point out discrepancies. I provided plans and had a thorough discussion of the design before they began their work. I or a representative was onsite daily to answer any questions they may have had. Did not pass first rough-in inspection due to not completing items they told me were required at time of quotation. (e.g. vent for ejector pit needed to tie into vent stack above sink drain on second floor.) Did not complete all items in the quotation. There was some work to be done in the abutting laundry room. Given the issues I was experiencing I let this go as I just wanted to pass inspection and get them off site as quickly as possible to continue with construction. Eventually they sent a second plumber to correct first plumbers work. Second plumber was less argumentative and did their best to make all the corrections. Seemed more experienced and knowledgeable. Finally passed rough-in inspection. As I move forward with construction I am still finding additional errors. (e.g. drains not in proper locations for use of standard shower pans, set 16" off wall, standard appears to be 13", shut off valves were glued shut, brand new ejector pit they provided was broken during installation, used wood lag screws to attempt to attach the lid because they ripped out the factory installed nuts, stripped off the gasket does not seal properly, etc.) I was not informed of any of this. I felt their original quote was high, but agreed expecting to have a better plumbing service. I do not feel this was the case. read more

I do not recommend this business. We had a simple clogged kitchen sink that needed a good professional snake. I called in the morning and got an appointment for the same day. However, they failed to mention I would be waiting ALL day. The service man didn't show up until 7:30 pm, right in the middle of dinner. I was then quoted $488. ALMOST FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS!! For a simple snake job!! I couldn't believe it. My jaw is still on the floor. Then he proceeded to recommend that we try boiling a huge pot of water and pour it down our PLASTIC pipes. Unbelievable. We did NOT hire them and went with another local guy who charged us a modest $250, came and went by noon the next day, and told us to absolutely never pour boiling water down our drain. They did great work but there prices are ridiculous. One shower leak repair was over $400. It took les than 10 minutes. ONe valuve reppair $450 took less than 30 minutes. My daughter had a kitchen sink repair it took 20 minutes and cost $350. All plumbers probably charge the same who knows. I will research more next tiime. They were supposed to send me an estimate, waited a week and called both the business and the plumber that came out and left messages for both. I am still waiting for a call back from both!! Excellang plumbing company that does high quality work. They do charge a little more than the other companies and will make alot of upsells. Many are necessary and some may not be. Overall if you will get work done correctly by a very professiona responsvive company. If your cheap take your business elsewhere as you will be disappointed. read more

I would NEVER EVER EVER use this company. I had a clogged toilet and my son had already removed the toilet and started snaking it. His snake broke. We called A better plumber, the came out snaked the drain. The tech was there about 20 min and mostly on the phone. Never gave me a price cause my father owns the home. Just did the job and left. My son reinstalled the toilet. They sent my dad a bill for $525. OUTRAGEOUS. I called serval other companies to get an estimate and theirs were from $250 to $300. Sad that they take advantage of elderly people just cause they own the home. read more

A Better Plumber is probably the best plumber I could have asked for. The person who came was very experienced and worked efficiently and quickly. He didn't waste any time and he did his work very well. They were also able to accommodate our schedule on short notice, which is a bonus and not something I would expect typically. I had an issue with my plumbing backing up so I called them and they came over to inspect. I thought I was on city sewage, so they told me they were going to snake the pipes then if I wanted the warranty, they would have to video scope the pipes. Well an hour later they tell me I have a septic system, tell me to get it pumped, and charge me over $1000 AND DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING. Ridiculous. Sounds like another typical St Mary's county experience. read more
