Monte has done work at my home numerous times for a new water heater, new toilets, and most recently a water filtration system and water softener. My experience has been Monte can do anything plumbing related, in a professional manner, and for a fair price. Last time he was here and had completed the job, I asked him to look at the kitchen sink that had backed up literally the day before his appointment. I had no luck plunging the sink myself, and figured he could do it quickly and easily. Turns out the problem was more involved than I thought, and Monte had to come back the following day(Saturday) with more equipment to finish the task. I just had them out for 2 jobs, first the big one putting in a 75 gallon hot water heater in place of the 1994 50 gallon and the second one to replace a couple leaky valves under the kitchen sink. First, the hotwater heater- Jerry showed up on time and removed the old one (Big task considering that thing was FILLED with sediment. Once it was removed Monty brought the new one (Rheem brand = quality :) ) they redid all the pipes leading upto the hotwater heater and made everything run the same way and replaced the valves with ball joints. It really looks nice. They cleaned everything when they were done, even swept the room!!! After they finished that they even took a look at some other things around the place for us and gave advice. fast forward a couple days, i take the appliances in the kitchen out. (because i want to redo the floor) turn out.... one of the valves under the sink wont turn off.... i turn off the water to the house (thinking its off and still going) we call monte- he walks us through on the phone what to do. although unfort i still couldnt get the old valve off so he came out AT NIGHT and replaced them for us :) Couple side notes worth mentioning, they use quality parts/brands they do the job correctly, even if it means more work/time there prices they tell you on the phone are actually the prices they charge you They will definitely be my go to for all our plumbing needs! :) read more

I've lived in the Las Vegas Valley for 8 years and have generally found that service companies could care less about service.I found out today by stepping on wet carpet in the house that my hot water heater in the garage has been leaking for several days going through the wall into the house. I dreaded the prospect of having to deal with this issue for days until I could find someone to actually come out and repair or replace it. I checked Yelp first and found A Better Plumbing Company. The reviews were too good to be believed but trustworthy enough. So, I decided to give them a try. Well, these guys are everything the reviews say they are. I called the office with my problem. Got a call back from their technician in 15 minutes and he was on the other side of the valley. He said he'd pick up a new water heater and be there in 30 minutes (which I knew he couldn't make from where he was). 35 minutes later, he called to say that he was about 10 minutes away. Now THAT alone is thoughtful service. He showed up a few minutes later, confirmed the problem. He installed a new water heater quickly and hauled away the old one. So naturally, over 50 years later, you're gonna have plumbing problems. He then meticulously and thoroughly checked both of our bathrooms, making 100% certain that everything was done to our complete satisfaction, refusing to leave until we gave him a "thumbs up" on the work he had done. Mike is a very good representative for this fine company. Not only was he properly polite and friendly, but he didn't laugh at my stupid questions, and I've never seen anyone work so diligently to ensure our total satisfaction with the overall quality of his work. I have ZERO HESITATION about recommending him and his fine company, should you have a genuine need for plumbing services. A Better Plumbing Co came out and fixed everything...So when I wanted more work done, naturally I contacted them. Using their website, the first email had no response. The second email got a response, A two line response, that said their free estimate costs $75 and I can email pictures. Really? I gave a pretty specific list of things that needed doing. This wasn't a "Help, I have a leak!" or "My water heater broke"...Although the people who have those issues seem to love them (as I did). Maybe they don't want other types of jobs. I don't know. This review is long over due. Health issues have kept me from getting it done. At the end of Sept I went into the garage and found the floor half flooded. Luis from A Better Plumbing just left my apartment. I had called a few days ago to set up an appt for a shower faucet repair (no hot water in my guest bathroom). He called before he arrived, showed up on time and fixed the shower head (something in that type of faucet was a common problem). I am new to this apartment, so I didn't know where the water shut off was. He was understanding, and cheerfully went hunting for the valve (and found it!) He was very friendly and courteous. I have used A Better Plumbing Company twice now in 2 years for the following problems: A leak in my upstairs bathroom tub A rusted out hose spigot A kitchen faucet replacement And a shower handle that I stupidly installed like an idiot The first time Monte came out to the house and worked like a detective solving a plumbing homicide. He showed me everything he was doing and I was involved in the process from start to finish. It turned out that the bath tub was leaking into the ceiling because the ring on the seal was falling apart. On the second visit Mike showed up and worked his magic like some kind of pipe wizard and knocked out the 3 remaining problems from that list in the time it took me to run to Home Depot. My water bill had jumped $150, even though I had reduced watering times. I concluded I had a leak, and started looking online for leak detection companies. This company had a live person answering the phone. They gave me a leak inspection appointment for the next morning (I called very late in the afternoon), with only a half hour waiting window. Juan came out and found my leak within minutes. He ten explained my options. I opted to have the main water line (street to house) replaced, rather than patched. This cost me $1,995, and they finished the work that day. You have to make your own decision as to whether you want a leak patched , or the whole line replaced. I went with replacement. We called A Better Plumbing Company when we first moved into our new house after discovering some leaks and water damage. We were having a tough time finding someone to come on Saturday, but Monte at ABPC said he could make it out. He showed up promptly (with one of his kids and a friend in tow, which is always fine by me), and was able to get the root of our problems. While coming out on a Saturday isn't cheap, he did finish the job quickly, and even take time out (not charged to us) to show us how to fix a specific problem ourselves if it was ever to occur. I've never really had anyone take the time to do that with any type of home service. The wife and I were very pleased at his promptness, his fast yet high quality work, and his ability to come out for an urgent problem without charging us an arm and a leg. I can say I was thrilled he showed us how to fix a specific problem, because the day before we were supposed to leave for a vacation, we had another leak (not related to the one that ABPC fixed) and we were able to fix it no problem thanks to Monte. I called this company after seeing the high rating on Yelp. The dispatcher was kind and talked to me about our broken garbage disposal, offering us an estimate before scheduling the service. The plumber, Jim, was in our part of town on a call, so she scheduled us for that afternoon. Jim called as he left his previous appointment and was on our doorstep not even 2 hours after I called in. He was friendly, talked to us about our dogs, and replaced our garbage disposal in about 45 minutes. He cleaned up after himself and even showed us how to do some common troubleshooting if we ever have problems in the future. I called on a Thursday and she said someone could be at my house Saturday, but she would try and get someone there sooner for a tub install. She said she would call me if they could get there earlier. The dispatcher was very friendly. However, I never got a call back. Waited until Saturday, no plumber. Called and left 2 messages with no call back and it's now the following Thursday and I have to call someone else. So, maybe they are great, but I'll never know and don't care to now after such incompetence and flakiness. **Update** In response to their comment, there was no "opportunity to meet with nor provide services to the member" because they failed to call me back and I think I was more than fair by calling back twice and waiting almost a week for a return call before posting a justifiably harsh review. Furthermore, if they had called me to apologize after seeing this rather than writing a retort that in no way justifies their error, I would have revised my rating. They were on time and had everything they needed to complete the job. The job turned out to be just that, a fat pain in the a**! I have done this job myself previously and watched the install closely. I was very impressed. Even though it took a little longer and they needed to use a few more parts, the price was as quoted over the phone. Here's the crazy part, you can find the same WH on the Internet for $1,400.00 and then try to muscle that beast around on your own. We had a slow leak in the master shower that caused bowing in the ceiling below the shower and water seepage into the bathroom carpet. I called A Better Plumbing to get someone out to our house and within an hour, Luis showed up to find and fix the leak. As it turns out, Luis had to cut into one of our walls to get at the leak. He was very good about making the cuts no larger than necessary so we wouldn't have any big, gaping holes. After he was done, he checked valves for the remaining fixtures in our bathroom to make sure they didn't leak, and gave us a very reasonable estimate for some work we need to have done for some of our sprinkler system's pipework. He also told us about a cheap cover we can get at the local nursery to keep the sprinkler system pipes from freezing. I would definitely hire them again. read more
