Stopped in for a bubble tea and the price was good, they were generous with the toppings, but the drink didn't have a really strong tea flavour. Still, I enjoyed it. 3.5 stars, but rounding up because I like supporting small local businesses and the staff were nice. I got the "Milk Tea 3" which is milk tea with tapioca pearls, chunks of pudding, and pieces of mesona/grass jelly. I got the regular size which was $4.50. I could have gotten a large for $0.50 more and the guy at the cash said it's about 200ml more. The large is a better deal for sure, but when I'm on vacation I try to always reserve some stomach space in the event that I come across some must eat snacks, lol. I like that they sweeten their tea with honey instead of sugar. I got 30% sweet and 30% ice since it was December and already cold outside. The ice level was perfect for the weather. The sweetness level was ok, but I probably could have gone with 50% sweet. I always err on the side of not sweet enough when I'm trying out a new place. Now I know. The tea flavour could have been a bit stronger in my opinion. The tea wasn't too creamy, which I liked, but I know some people like their bubble milk teas richer. They didn't skimp on the toppings, but I found the tapioca pearls a bit on the hard side and not as soft and chewy as I like. The pudding and mesona jelly were great. I liked the giant bendy straw too. I'm not sure why I got my cold drink in an insulated cup though. I couldn't see the toppings since the cup was opaque. Part of the fun of bubble tea in my opinion is the way it looks, but oh well. Staff were super nice and patient with me while I decided on my drink and also when I asked questions about the 2 different sizes. The place is small but looks clean and tidy. I like supporting independent stores over megachains, so I would go back if I was in the area and craving bubble tea :) read more

Wanted to visit a local bubble tea shop during my stay in Montreal and came across this bubble tea shop! It was quiet when we walked in, and there was an external vendor near the entrance selling cakes (I believe..not too sure as the vendor did not look up from his phone as we walked in). We went ahead to the bubble tea counter and we decided on trying the Red Bean Milk Smoothie ($4.50, small, +$0.50 for pearls). When I ordered the Red Bean Milk Smoothie, the barista at the counter clarified and asked if I wanted the Red Bean Matcha Smoothie (which is blended red bean and matcha) or just the Red Bean Milk Smoothie (which is red bean blended with milk). I opted for the Red Bean Milk Smoothie as I could not really imagine what blended up matcha and red bean would taste like. We got our drink relatively quick- the red bean tasted fresh and authentic and it had just the right amount of sweetness. However, I found that the drink had a little too much ice in it, and made the drink very crunchy as we had to chew through the ice bits. Furthermore, the pearls weren't too fresh and it tasted a little stale/old. I think next time, I would just stick with the good ol' bubble tea chain shops (like Chatime that is not too far from this shop) as they usually have a higher chance of providing fresh pearls due to their turnover rates while compared to this local bubble tea shop. read more

Purchase: - Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba // $6 My partner and I were walking by to try their boba and so we ventured in. The menu was a bit unclear if they had boba or not so I had to go to the cashier and ask. I ordered something but the cashier suggested something else for me which I was ready to try. My partner got something but apparently it was sold out and they suggested something else and eventually got something he didn't like. Mine was actually like a regular milk tea but a bit sweeter. Solid bubble tea, okay quality at a lower price point. Since it wasn't a chain or anything big name, I've put off trying this place for a while. They have a variety of interesting teas, like the ones with the cheese mousse on top (they call it "cheese cover") as well as toppings like oatmeal. The teas are sweetened with honey, and regular level of sugar is actually normal which is shocking in a good way. For me, my bubble tea orders are always 30% sugar and that's sweet enough already. Their tapioca is not that great, a bit too soft. Also, the place is pretty small with only a few tables so it's not a bubble tea spot to hang out with the crew in. Anyways, it's a pretty decent place if you want to grab some bubble tea downtown. Their loyalty card requires five stamps instead of 10 so it looks like I'll be going back at least another 5 times! read more

Came here because I wanted a space to work and I was not willing to wait or work in the din of the Chatime on St Catherines. This place is just a block or so away and it has more seating, and a much more relaxed environment. I got fresh black tea with grass jelly. The flavours were strong but they are more similar to a Hong Kong black tea. I feel like the grass jelly isn't as sweet as chatime but still had great texture. The staff were nice and there were enough people to serve the number of people in the cafe. There is also wifi and it's quiet enough to do some work on a weekend afternoon. I would definitely come back to sample a few more of their bubble teas (I didn't get bubbles so I can't comment on those yet). tip - they have a buy 5 get one free card you can get. it's a pretty decent loyalty program considering other places are buy 10 get 1. read more

Some great milk tea over there, must try the black diamond and the coconut milk with grapefruit and mango. They also sells cakes at the entrance, it's a little bit expensive but the mango cake and coconut squares are really something. read more

I really like their home specialty fruit tea!!!! Imbibing a lot of different tropical fruits inside of good tea, the recipe to make this fruit tea is simply heavenly! Just don't put any ice so that they can give you the maximum of fruit and tea. It is very refreshing and savoury! The shop itself is a bit hidden despite being in downtown on he busiest street (St-Catherine). It is much less known than Nos Thés or Chatime that are located quite close to A Breuvage Shop. There are only three tables and the decor is very simple. I find that it lacks good vibes, but the drinks are really nice. read more

It was love at first sip - Fresh Pineapple Jasmine tea is now my favorite flavor as well as all my friends I've shared it with. Beautiful fruit selection available. Love that it's sweetened with honey, that we can choose the amount of sweetness and ice. It's served with passion fruit and orange. I wish I could tell you about other flavours, have a few on my to try list but haven't been able to go beyond my first love yet. I'm just a little worried about the amount of plastic waste it generates though. Will try bringing my own container next time. read more

This is my go-to for Chocolate Milk Tea. I always order it with 50% sugar, pudding, and no ice. They make it perfectly each time.

We came on January 1st at around 4pm The drinks were really diluted. Asked them to redo it and they just added some sugar and tea in it. They didn't even replace the plastic film The employees seemed like they didn't care about being there. I heard they use actual tea instead of powder(which is what chatime does), but the flavor is a bit too less. Also heard the fruit tea are good. Will try that next time read more

Went in here to grab a drink and have some sit down time. The bubble tea isn't all that great. I've had much better ones. The staff is really nice though. And the every time someone walks in and out the door, there'll be this pretty annoying voice that says something lol. read more

I don't know why this place has such a bad rating. I swear I'm obsessed. I get one bubble tea from here every week and I'm LOYAL. I'll walk the extra 3 blocks from nosthes to ABS just bc I think it's worth it. The bubbles are always delicious and soft (not always the case with chatime and nosthes who sometimes undercook their bubbles). The drinks and flavours are unique unlike the bigger bubble tea chains and I just feel like everything is more local and made with care. I love how they use honey to sweeten their drinks as well (it tastes so much better). I recommend the Brown sugar with mango/matcha, the Black diamond, or the berries with cheese cover (this last one doesn't come with bubbles though). They also have cute homemade cranberry shortbread cookies for $2.50 that are so worth it! Basically this place is a gem. It doesn't look like much (apparently they don't really do any promotions/ads or anything) but it will pleasantly surprise you. Not enough tables but the drinks were good. My friends and I went on a Wednesday night. We ordered the bubble tea with grass jelly (8/10), the mango yogurt drink (7.4/10) the red bean pudding milk tea (9/10). It was (quote from Amy) - "a perfect blend of honey and milkyness". You know how sometimes you just crave some bubble tea to satisfy the Asian girl inside you? ABS does just this. The orange and white interior is soothing yet stimulating like watching the lion king while juggling chainsaws. You just feel so relaxed by the warm ambiance yet strangely excited. read more
