The look on my friends face when this smelly old dusty van came to pick us up. on The inside the ac didn't work, vibe was off and I just felt disgusted sitting intertwined with layers of dust inside of the vehicle . It's not good for people with allergies. Cherry on top the crusty rude unprofessional condescending driver thinks it's ok to break the law by being on his phone just distracted the entire time. He gave us excellent service as well as the Best Prices in Town. Our first experience was a 5:30 AM Saturday morning pickup ride to the airport for the six of us and all our luggage. We had lots of room John is a great communicator as after requesting my info regarding our flight etc he followed up with an instant confirmation. What set him apart was he called the day before our flight to confirm and again 30 minutes before he was to arrive at my home. Those calls relieved our minds about any missed communication or missing a flight due to the two hour arrival requirement before your flight. Great service and VERY responsive. We flew into the CBX terminal (Cancun to Tijuana) and got picked up by John. Our flight was 2 hours late and we didn't arrive into Tijuana until 12:30 a.m. It took about an hour to get through CBX so we were finally at the curb at 1:30 a.m. John monitored our flight and was there to pick us up right on time. Uber and Lyft are limited for a vehicle for large groups (more than seven). One of his drivers contacted me before we left Honolulu w/ his contact info and to let him know when we touched down. Our plane was late, and we had a baggage issue.....had six family members w/ 2 children w/ a lot of luggage. Our driver was patient and just told me to contact him when we were curbside w/ all the luggage. This was around midnight. What a terrible experience. Hired for a bachelorette trip to Baja/Valle De Guadalupe from SD. Showed up late and with one less van than we expected causing our friends to drive to Mexico separately. By the time we were ready to leave the Baja house for the wineries, we were down one more van for "maintenance". While the single operating van was taking us to our first winery, it began smoking. The driver pulled over to check. Said it was ok, just some oil dripping on the timing belt. He continued to drive and then it really started smoking. He pulled over again. Asked us to get out, said he couldn't complete the trip and left us on the side of the road. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Clearly this company does not maintain its vehicles. First off I never write bad reviews, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a business. This shuttle service was an absolute nightmare! From beginning to end, it was such a complete disaster! We had ordered 3 vans to transport 25 of my girlfriends to Valle de Guadalupe for my bachelorette. They showed up with only 2 vans, so one of the girls had to drive the remaining items that we couldn't fit in the 2 vans. Once we hit the road down, the AC did not work in either van, so were sweating the entire time in the middle of summer. Then when we finally get to the house in Ensenada to drop off our luggage, we come out to get back in to head to the wineries, there is only 1 van outside. 1 van was broken and had to go to the shop and the driver said he did not know when, if at all it would even come back. We are now down to 1 van out of 3 that we ordered for 25 girls. 12 of us went in the remaining van as the others then had to take Ubers to the wineries. As we are driving, the van starts smoking. The driver pulls over and tells us that oil just spilt on the engine and that everything is fine. We drive for another mile, then he pulls over again and says the transmission is broken. WE NOW HAVE ZERO VANS! This company put 25 girls in a horrible situation in Mexico and should NOT BE IN BUSINESS! Thankfully, my fiance was able to find a shuttle to pick us up within 40 minutes of calling them that had AC, could fit all of us, got us to all the wineries and back to states safely, and was half the price. I guess I'll be the first to review A Big Van for going to the airport and not clubbing in the Gaslamp. We live in Normal Heights and hate paying $30+ for a cab the 7 miles to the airport. So I started looking around on Yelp. This service is not that much less than a cab, but way more personal, reliable and the price is a flat fee, so no surprises if traffic sucks. I like that I can text to make a pickup appointment. And he's always a little early. We've had late and no show cab situations. Additionally, the driver went above and beyond what we could ever hope for from a cab. As we curb checked our bags, my husband realized he left his carry-on in the van. I texted the driver but got no response. So I called, frantic. He answered, apologized profusely for missing my text as he had already gotten home and gone to sleep! But he jumped out of bed and raced back to the airport to deliver the bag and we made our flight. And he refused a tip. Can't speak highly enough about this place. Used it to get a group of 5 to Rosarito. Van was great, driver was great, and crossing was made so easy because of our driver Gonzalo. He was super flexible and accommodating. He was able to pick us up earlier then planned when our flights arrived earlier. Price was better in comparison to every other place I check out. They picked us up from the condo in Rosarito and took us back to San Diego. It took a couple hours to cross border but the ride is comfortable and they were super flexible when we had to change our drop off location last minute. Quickest communication too. Great great great!
