I'm a property manager and hired A Blinds to install roll down shades for a rental unit a couple years ago. We've been very pleased with them! But just this week I called them because I was having a little issue with one spot getting too worn because tenants typically aren't the best at being gentle. They arranged for Ben to come take a look and try to fix this area that's getting pulled on too hard. Ben is just such an awesome guy. He offered to fix it "like new" at no charge! Granted this repair area is very small and is probably an easy fix for these pros, I just really appreciated that! In a world where it feels like no one gives that kind of "old fashioned" service anymore...it was clearly important to Ben that I'm happy with their service. That really means a lot to me. If you're on the fence about purchasing blinds/shades with this company, be assured that they will make sure you're happy with the product willingly with no issues. It's SO worth it. They're one of the few window treatment stores that have a showroom, which is located at International Marketplace (though I believe they said they'll be moving). I just want to thank the A Blinds team for being part of our home renovation. We live in a condo near Waikiki and decided to renovate the entire place. One of my neighbor had done shades with A Blinds and they were extremely happy with the work A Blinds had done. About a year and half ago, I made a mistake of purchasing cellular shades (top down bottom up) from another company who installed it. The shade was not a good choice, it made all the rooms look so dark and unattractive. I felt the rooms needed some softening but I didn't know how to accomplish it. I totally ruined the feng shui of my house! I reached out to Yelp again and found A Blinds. Jae was the design consultant and he really knows his product. He made some recommendations based on what I currently have installed. He understood what works best for rooms and he took the time to understand my style, what I'm looking for, and was able to suggest what he thinks may work. This was really helpful! My experience with A Blinds was just pure joy and goodness. I want to personally thank the A Blinds Team for making the process of window covering so easy and simple. I initially found A Blinds through searching on the web and the five star review was what brought me to get estimation with them. I called the number from yelp and very friendly lady answered the phone. Immediately they booked me with Jae to come over to my place to give an estimation. Jae was very detail oriented when doing the estimation and the great price was what I decided to order on. Of course the quality of theirs was much on higher level than other vendors had carried. The other vendors seem to have similar material choices but A Blinds definitely had more colors and fabric styles to choose from that came from all over the world Italy, Japan and France. After putting in the deposit, I was told it would take from 2-3 weeks delivery. After about 2 weeks, I received called from Maddison that the shades were ready for installation. So I booked for the earliest they they had available for installation. Daniel and Ray came out to install and they were so professional. I mean as they were drilling through the hole, the assistant Ray was using vacuum to clean up the mess. Thats definitely a detail oriented team. After installation I was just thrilled and it definitely made the house cooler and more sensational. After seeing their demo fabric blind (in a corner of the SOM shop, 2nd floor of International Marketplace), I set an appointment for estimate from Jae to replace my broken corded, heavy vinyl vertical blinds pocketed with shear fabric. I was looking to renovate my new place with partial ocean and mountain view. I wanted something that was different than just typical sun screen or actually I did not really have an idea of what should be done. Jae and the ABlinds team was a pleasure to work with from start to finish! My senior parents have an old house; very cluttered, dingy & my dad has Alzheimers so he likes things dark, even during the day. AND I have to live in it too! I hired this company to install window coverings in my home. The name is a bit misleading as they are mostly a window shade company, NOT a blind company. In terms of roll up shades, they have a very large selection and the product itself is very high quality. Definitely recommend them if you are looking for roller shades. In terms of other items, it's a bit lacking. They do not offer cordless blinds, faux wood blinds, or plantation shutters. The blinds they do offer is a very basic white blind of a slightly lower quality that what you can get DIY from home depot. It doesn't seem like they have much selection for any other blinds. I worked with Aaron and he explained this to me prior so I wasn't surprised by this. There was an issue with my installation, but Aaron and the guys at A blinds worked with me to quickly correct the issue at no additional charge. A+ Prices are very reasonable and service is top notch. I debated between 4 and 5 starts, but given the excellent service I received, 5 stars. I will say tho, for window shades, definitely recommend. Having recently returned to Oahu we settled on a new condo, Ko'ula, in Ward Center. Being that our building has a predominantly glass walled interior, it was necessary to immediately investigate local window shade dealers. The sun in Hawaii can be brutal, both in temperature and for UV concerns, therefore, product quality and contractor capability became our main search criteria in addressing how best to tame nature's impact. Starting out, we contacted two shade companies, focusing on local reputation and customer reviews. A Blinds was the second company contacted and immediately arranged for a home visit on the basis of our introductory call. Impressive! The other company, not so accommodating. Within one day we were reviewing A Blinds shade colors and material quality, learning about electric shade motor differences, and becoming acquainted with Jae, the A Blinds top salesman. In that visit, Jae immediately went to work taking measurements of all the windows. He went about calculating the complete material and installation cost and presented us with a truly outstanding price - on the spot. Well within our previously determined budget. As for the other company that couldn't come for "a few days", well, I called and canceled that appointment. Unexpectedly, Jae was bold in actually quoting a delivery date two weeks hence. Even more surprising, he met that date exactly. Unusual for Hawaii, where sometimes things don't always match expectations. Next, the installation. Once again, we were promised a date and time for the install - and both were met perfectly. The installers, Daniel and Ray, were friendly, courteous and efficient. Ten overall shades needed to be installed, with electrical connections required for each shade. They were done in about 4 hours and after the job was finished, Jae arranged to come by and critique the overall installation. Unfortunately, there were "imperfections" noted in a couple of shades and immediately Jae called his office and arranged for a complete replacement of the affected shades. No discussion, no hesitation, and a complete guarantee of absolute customer satisfaction. Now, that's what you call great customer service. The good news is replacement shades were the delivered as promised and Daniel and Ray again visited to complete the install. We're fully satisfied in all respects and we highly recommend the quality of the shades, the service we received, and the attentiveness of a company that even exceeded our expectations.
