I wish I had received their follow up email, that they send out after your appointment, before I posted my initial review. Because in the email, they provide contact information if you are not satisfied with your hair. I would've gone down that route. However, since I posted my review first, here is my updated Re use: First of all, Heather, the owner, is a boss. First, she responded to my reviews very professionally without being defensive. Next, she invited me to come back to see what I was not happy with. When I came in, Heather was friendly and welcoming. The stylist who originally cut my hair was there as well. Heather informed me that ideally the appointment would've included that stylist, but she was busy. I think that is so cool. Heather truly wants to see her stylists BLUME. She was able to touch up parts to ultimately give me the look I wanted and was happy with. Although I didn't love my cut at my first appointment, Heather more than made up for it and I highly recommend this salon. Thank you Heather and your team at Blume! read more

If I could leave 0 stars, i would. A blonder place or a greyer place? I was raised that if you get the wrong plate at a restaurant, you dont make a fuss and say thank you and eat your plate. So its a hard thing for me to complain. Now i'm too broke to get my hair redone for the 3rd time. Paid 500 with tip for grey hair when i wanted warm blonde highlights. If i wanted grey, they could've just shown me the bill. Had to go in 2 times and still didnt get what i wanted. How do you get ashy grey when i asked for "More of the same blond"? Before even getting to my appointment the first time, i had texted 2 different people only to be in the chair with a 3rd stylist having to explain it on the spot. I was clear that i didnt know hair or terminology and I'd do my best. Any professional worth their weight, would be sure to be specific and clear about what their client wanted. I had asked for "sun kissed beach vibe with dimension. My last stylist got that by using different colors of brown and lighter blond". On the spot i pulled up a google photo of hair with great dimension, but of a different color. I knew something was wrong when she just started bleaching ALL of my hair. I asked and she said the bleach will give ìt dimension and didnt have to use other colors. Uncertain, but trusting that she knew what was doing, i let it go. After my hair was done, i was presented with dull, ashy brown hair, nothing sun kissed about it. The only thing blond was the money piece. I was told in the chair by this stylist Mayra that if I didnt like it, i should give it a week and she'd fix it for free obviously reading my face that I wasnt all that happy. I gave it a week and unsatisfied i called back. My fault for being too nice about something I was clearly not happy with. I sent her another photo, presenting her dimension but of a different color, unable to find anything else. I told her "i wanted to add some brighter pieces to the hair. The money piece color is bright and pops which is great. I want to run with that and add some pieces for a fiery look" hoping that would better explain. Fiery does not mean ash. And a 2nd time in her chair, she sees me not looking to stoked and asks, "what are you thinking?" "My hair looks grey". Moving to another light, it looks blondish grey. Relieved it wasnt a stark grey, "its better". When i asked about the price, she said i had asked for ash blond like in the picture, when i have texts repeating i wanted blonde, BLONDE as the color i already had! Even if she was using the photo only, she didn't even get that right. In no part of our conversation did she say it would be a whole new coloring price. If i had known I would rather have box dyed it myself. Now i can't use the extensions that i paid for because they dont match my now grey hair. Hair that had taken me ages to grow and had told her how special it was. A stylist who relies more on pictures than what a client is actually telling them and doesnt clarify is just someone who's is too lazy to do a decent job. I guess you just have to be rude to be heard. And if someone doesnt listen and does a bad job the first time, don't go back for seconds. An expensive lesson for all on my head and my dime. read more

I'm very sad about my experience at A Blonder Place. I came in after I attempted to bleach my hair, my ends were already very dead & melted off when I put the bleach on. I came to the salon for help, I told Mayra I wanted to keep as much length as possible my goal was to go lighter but I told Mayra if we couldn't go as light as I wanted it was okay I just wanted to keep as much of my hair as possible. I didn't want my hair to my shoulders. The cut & correction she gave me was very uneven, my roots were uneven & there was random brown spots & streaks through my hair. I messaged Mayra to see if we could fix the uneven roots & could even out the color. We scheduled & I hoped it could be fixed but my hair does not look good. The cut is very uneven, up to my shoulders in the back, my left front section is about an inch longer then the right, & the color is uneven. i cried so hard when I really examined my hair at home, Mayra styled it after it was done it looked beautiful in the salon but after the first wash.. girl :( the videos of my hair are from about a month after seeing Mayra it was the first time I straightened my hair after getting it done ive been terrified to see what it looks like straight, I've been clipping my hair up ever since our last appointment to hide my bad hair cut & uneven color overall I'm very sad I didn't want to post a real review because I really liked Mayra but I paid $400 to cry my hair is to my shoulders I have a very uneven cut & the color is not at all what I hoped. read more

I have curly hair, have gotten Deva cuts before and thought I knew what I was doing when it came to caring and styling my hair. Bretina is VERY knowledgeable. She is so patient and really takes the time to figure out your style, takes time to get to know what products you use and how you do your hair and then recommends ways to teach different styling methods. I learned easy ways to style my hair and I'm never going back to my old ways! I've read comment about people saying it is pricey but you get what you pay for and I will gladly pay Bretinas price. I have gone to Cre Salon several times and can say I have only been satisfied the times that Lucy, who is no longer there,did my hair. My main problem is PRICE! My hair is very short, very gray, and to charge 50 bucks for a haircut on short hair is ridiculous. We are not in Beverly Hills, for goodness sake!
