I recently used Eden Home Renovations to complete what I'll call a basement remodel-I had some…read moreflooding in my basement and had to replace the floor, bottom two feet of drywall and trim. I had a poor experience with the folks I hired to do the water mitigation work, originally planning to have them also do the remodel and then just really bad luck trying to hire another contractor-lots of no shows, or folks who showed up for the estimate but then not follow through when I tried to hire them. After all that, dealing with Joe was like a breath of fresh air. He came out to check out my space within a week of contacting him, took his time looking around and telling me his thoughts, which I appreciated. When he was a day or two later than he mentioned getting me the written estimate, he reached out to let me know. He followed up after the estimate, which I received during a super busy time personally, and I was ready to schedule the work but had to postpone, due to last minute travel for work. We agreed on a date after I returned, and again he followed up to make sure we were still on. This kind of communication has been unheard of, in my experience with hiring other professionals to work on my house, and I really appreciated it. Joe has been responsive, reliable, and friendly throughout, accommodated my work schedule and any interactions I had with his team were also fine. I'm very pleased with the work he did to restore my basement-it looks great and I can't wait to unpack all my stuff and start getting some use out of it (and also show it off)!! I would say keep well away from this company. The owner just does not care about the work his guys…read moredo and hardly shows up on the site. He even did not want to do a final walk through to approve everything before getting final payment. He used sub-contractors that did a terrible job that involves ripping out everything they did and re-purchasing and reinstalling everything again to make it right and the owner is not willing to write a document to stand behind this and wants me to deal with the sub contractor myself. This company has lost most of the good workers it had and can't get any new one because they are so cheap, they don't even pay for their guys gas or extra time it takes to get to a job over an hour away. He knows if he looses the few guys he has he want find anyone else to work for him because of the way he treats them. This is the 2nd time I have worked with them and I am still waiting for them to finish and repair mistakes made on the first one over 4 years ago, so it's hard for me to trust that they will fix the issues in this new one. In fact one of his ex workers told me in the first job when he pointed out to the owner a problem of something not being done right, that the owner said don't worry about it and to just cover it up and not say anything. I would recommend that you stay far away this company as even though some of their workers are honest hard working guys, the owner thinks he can bully his way through your job and not take professional responsibility for any bad workmanship.
