What started as a routine tow turned into one of the most unexpectedly comforting moments I've had with a stranger. Mike didn't just tow my car! He showed up with compassion, patience, and heart. He gave me a genuine hug when I didn't even realize how much I needed it in that moment, still in shock after what had just happened. He did everything with a big smile on his face and a lot of wit to share the smile with us. Later in the day, my best friend and I went to pick up my belongings out of my vehicle. He treated us like family, like people who mattered. After he'd already finished up and was technically off the clock, he stayed and talked with us for almost a hour! Really talked with us. He offered life advice, encouragement, and a kind of grounded wisdom that felt like it came straight from someone who's lived a lot of life and still chooses to show up for people with grace on some of their worst days. He reminded us that even in the middle of chaos, there's still goodness in the world.
