I've been a customer of A/C Medic for a few years now, and Robert has always taken good care of me. Unfortunately, this last experience was disappointing. The technician didn't arrive during the scheduled window, and when I called the office, they had to contact him directly to find out when he'd show up. I was told it would be a couple more hours, despite having already rearranged my client schedule to be home. I decided to give them another shot. A few days later, the tech came out and completed the requested service. He replaced a capacitor, which cost a couple hundred dollars, but I never saw any readings to confirm it was faulty despite the unit only being less than 3 years old. He also told me the compressor sounded bad and needed to be replaced. He said he would speak to Robert about the warranty and get back to me. That was on April 29th, and I've yet to hear anything since. read more

We hired them for an ozone treatment and given their reviews, we thought it would be a good experience. Overall, a terrible experience. First, we had to contact them 3 times before we got a quote or even a response. Then, they took weeks to get to us and to drop off the machine. THEN they told us we could stay inside while the treatment machine ran only to find out 5 minutes later that it was actually dangerous and harmful for us to stay in the home (yikes). It took them 2 weeks to get the machine out of our house. Then, another week to get the invoice. Absolutely insane. Not recommended for treating your home for smoke or anything in general. Unless you don't care about your health and how much time it takes to get something done. read more

There is huge peace of mind in being able to trust a company. We trust AC Medic because they stand behind their product and their work. We had an incompetent general contractor for a major renovation who left us with numerous HVAC headaches. Making it worse was we have an 86-year-old family member who needs consistent temperatures in her part of the house. In the year since the HVAC came online, AC Medic has probably made seven or eight trips here to make it right, and that's a hour trip each way from Mebane. One after another they painstakingly pinpointed the problems and found solutions. They understood what we were up against. They are super-busy, but they always found time to service what they had installed. Like everything else these days, a good HVAC system is pricey. Our digital thermostat display went blank. I checked online and it wasn't batteries, the circuit breaker, drip pan switch or the thermostat itself so I called up A/C Medic because of his good yelp reviews and he was able to come out a few hours later on a Sunday. It turns out one spot on a wire for the A/C unit outside had worn away and come in contact with the cab (metal shell) of the A/C unit which caused the 24 volts 3 amp fuse of the unit to blow; which prevented any power to the system including the thermostat (ours is not a battery powered thermostat). So for anyone looking for HVAC repair, I recommend him because he found and fixed the problem quickly [removed the damaged end of the offending wire and then reattached (in a manner that it won't happen again) then replaced the blown fuse] and for only the agreed upon diagnostic fee plus $3 for the fuse. read more

Alex and Robert have been wonderful and did an outstanding job replacing a rusted out coil on a Lennox HVAC that was installed when my home was built and also adding some very nice Honeywell Damper Motors to control the airflow in the upstairs and downstairs zones replacing the faulty ones that were previously installed. I am VERY pleased by my recent experience with A/C Medic. Unlike many other HVAC companies, a human being actually answered the phone both of the times I called them prior to my appointment. The technician, Alex, arrived shortly before my scheduled appointment time and was able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem for a reasonable price. He also made helpful suggestions for maintenance services to prevent me from having air conditioning issues down the road. Most importantly, for me, the people at A/C Medic took my concerns about being at high risk for complications from Covid-19 very seriously and were able to provide me with a totally contact free service. They communicated with me by phone from outside the house and allowed me to do the inside portions of the job (switching the unit on and off) myself.
