But this guy is supposed to be 'Heating and Air'. If you click on 'Residential Air Conditioning', you will see one picture of an A/C outdoor unit and one picture of the dreaded air duct that Andrew will not go near. Maybe Andrew would not get so many negative reviews if he tells people that he only fixes heating for water heaters and doesn't touch duct work, when they call to make an appointment. read more

My AC wasn't working so I called Andrew around 5pm and he said he could come over the next day at 8am (which I was thrilled about). But when I texted him the error message on my HVAC panel he texted me back and helped me to get my system up and running on my own! I will be using his company exclusively from now on! When I couldn't reproduce the problem when he arrived, he gave everything a look anyway just to be sure there weren't any obvious problems with anything, and even cleaned up the unit for me as a courtesy at no charge. Terrible service, completely dishonest, and very argumentative. The technician wreaked of alcohol. He did not install the new thermostat correctly and the owner had to come fix his mistake. The thermostat cost $40 on Amazon but he charged me over $100 (markup doesn't bother me so much if it's transparent). I asked him to explain his markup policy and he said it was 150%. I told him that it was $40 on Amazon and he said he didn't buy it on Amazon, that he bought it from fitch lumber. The service was scheduled a week out and Amazon is very convenient. I don't want to be charged and extra 100% markup because he chose to shop at a more expensive store. But, the reality is he was lying. Fitch lumber doesn't charge that much so either he didn't buy it there or he lied about his markup. He told me that he would apply a first time customer discount when he came to fix the mistake his technician made but then he said he forgot to bring money (I never got the discount). 4 months later I went to turn the heat on and learn that the heat and fan don't turn on at all (they both worked fine before and the AC works so the fan has no mechanical problems; sure sounds like a thermostat could be the cause). I ask for him to check to see that it was installed correctly and he wants $127.50 for a service call (if it's not the thermostat). When I tell him that I was unhappy with the service and explain that he told me about his markup and his story didn't check out he says he never tells people about his markup (another lie; he certainly told me in front of my wife). The whole experience was terrible. I believe in paying people for quality work. I'm happy to pay $100+ an hour for good, honest service. This industry is terrible though and some people think that it's ok to take advantage of people by charging whatever they can get away with on parts and not honoring their work. The owner did a lot to talk me out of writing a bad review. I'm guessing that worked on many others which is probably why he has so few positive reviews (he convinces the people who are unhappy to not write a review). He eventually offered to check that the thermostat was installed correctly for free. I declined and told him I would rather write the bad review so people know what to expect with this company. Update: Before calling these guys I tried to change the relay myself guessing that was the problem. The tech was insulted that I had the audacity to try to work on my own AC. He grumbled to himself and took a look at my work, tested a few wires, and concluded that it wasn't the relay. He said it was the thermostat, charged me for a new one and installed it but in the process broke the heat and fan mode. I just found out from the new tech that the relay was the problem all along and I never needed a thermostat. If this tech even bothered to test his work it would be clear that he bike the heater while "fixing" the AC. Terrible! read more

Terrible service and unprofessional as well. It took him 3 times to repair our A/C, and each time we called to request a follow up appointment we were put at the bottom of his priority list and had to wait almost a week for Andrew to send out someone. Meanwhile, my wife (who was 6 months pregnant at the time) and I endured 85-plus degree temperatures in our house. After I questioned his invoice (given the poor work product) he immediately lost his temper, began calling me names and challenged me to a fist fight. Haven't posted a review in years, but I'd be doing a disservice to this business if I didn't let everyone know what a great service they provided. With temps rising, our AC stopped cooling effectively. We called Andrew's Heating and Air, and Andrew, with a fully booked schedule, managed to find time the very next day and arrived on time to problem solve. The service was prompt, friendly, and honest. The AC was fixed that day and for a reasonable price. I even learned a few things along the way about hvac maintenance and service. A few days later, we had another issue arise, and Andrew was immediately responsive, came out that weekend, and made sure the job was done right. The guy arrive at 10:50 to see why there was no air flow into two rooms in the house where the AC unit works well everywhere else. I woke up on one of the hottest days of the summer to sticky, warm air in my home. When I called Yellow Dot, the rep told me that I should have had a contract and that he could send someone two days later. (My unit is less than 3 years old) I found Andrew's online and called. I'm not sure if I spoke directly with Andrew, but imagine my shock when he said, "Are you home now? I'll be right over." Within an hour I had the capacitor replaced and my house was cooling. The charge was MORE than reasonable and less than I had expected for an emergency call. And I found out that new units DON'T need a bi-yearly contract at all. Phoned this establishment based on reviews I'd seen & glad I did. Was only for some HVAC preventive maintenance, as I could not recall the last time the units had been serviced. They arrived right on time & took only an hour to check over both heating & AC units. All this for a mere $85, monies well spent. I can guarantee that if issues ensue down the road they'll be the first I call. This place outdid themselves. One of the AC units commenced to freezing up over the weekend.
