Jose resolved a recurring issue with our furnace that stymied another HVAC company for several heating seasons. Our former service provider tried repeatedly to identify the cause of the error code that would prevent the furnace from starting. They were fully committed to its resolution at no cost to us. Their efforts would be initially successful but then the furnace would stop running again. This season began like previous ones, furnace ran normally for days until it stopped and then would not run reliably. This year, we had contracted our service with Hay's in hope that they might be able to resolve the problem. On the normal maintenance service call, Jose identified a probable cause of the problem and addressed it. I am really surprised to read some positive reviews on Hays heating. Till today thy have given me the itemized invoice but charged me $4882.00(Four Thousand eight Hundred ) just for changing the mother board and login board. They did not let me talk to the owner. My home was sweltering as the cooling stopped 2 weeks ago, at the worst time. Inside temperature was over 80 degrees. The folks from Hay's came to my house within 24 hours. They diagnosed the problem, which required replacement parts they ordered. In the meantime, they were able to temporarily address most of the problem, resulting in cool air downstairs. It's a longer story, but they were faced with a Trinity Park house built in 1952 which had a patchwork temperature system. After a couple of more visits, they diagnosed and fixed the problems. Their support was prompt, polite and expert. Their charges were reasonable. Hay's is the only company I will use when heating or cooling problems arise. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about Hay's Heating & Air as they have literally saved my sanity and thousands of dollars. We first started having problems with our HVAC system last summer due to problems with the installation from a different company. After getting several quotes from other companies (one of which said we needed an entirely new system when ours had only been installed a few years ago), Hay's was able to make some slight adjustments for not too much money and it was fixed. We still have some minor problems but they are always prompt to come and help us out and I trust that they can get the job done and they will do the work with the best interest of the customer in mind. Hays Heating and Air provided excellent service at a great value. The HVAC at my home was about 12 years old and was leaking Freon. I have been in the house about 2 years. The company servicing the system (not Hays) recommended replacement and gave me an estimate on a 20 SEER Rheem system. I called Hayes for free estimate on the same equipment. Hays, unaware of the competitor's bid, beat their pricing. After Mike promptly came out and provided the estimate, Rosemary handled all of my questions by email. I probably had a few more technical questions than most HVAC shoppers; I wanted to ensure the installer I chose knew how to do it right the first time. I was very satisfied with all of the responses from Rosemary and the consultants on her team. Very thorough. The install went great. The technicians Brian, John, Richard, Mat and Sean were present at different times according to the aspect of the system they were responsible for installing. It was obvious they are used to working as a team and communicated well with each other and with me throughout the install. Very professional. It was unfortunate that I had to replace my HVAC system. We got bids from five companies late last summer to replace our 15-yr old heating & AC - ranging from $7,500 to $14,000. Hays provided the clearest, most straightforward information about system options, efficiency ratings, warranties and prices. It was all in writing with detailed. No hard sell or pressure. They weren't the cheapest but were at the lower end since we got a discount for waiting till October to install. They showed up on time with a 3-man crew and finished in one day. I scheduled an appointment with ARS, who inspected my HVAC unit and told me it had to be replaced completely because they had found a leak. They gave me a quote for Carrier, but my preference was Trane. Thereafter, I got two quotes for Trane, and I was expecting to get one from Hay's, but when I asked Josh Terrell to give me a quote, he wanted to inspect the unit himself. He said that Hay's motto was to "Fix it if we can, and if we can't, advise you on a replacement." He showed up on time, he was very professional, he verbally explained every step he was doing, and he changed the dual capacitor, start booster, and the filters, which kickstarted the unit! Hay's saved me a fortune in replacement costs and fixed the problem with a great deal of skill; they have earned a lifelong customer and appreciation. Not recommended, amateur and unprofessionals. We order commercial unite 4ton dual zone. Cost me twice more of why Heys priced us from lost of business during the time of install/tune and get it all ready to work. It took them 6 week to get it install over week of business interruptions and in the top of all of that mess you get hanged up on when you call for service. They never mind customer frustration. I asked to escalate to owner which till today I never heard from. In fact I heard something like "we will come and rip the unit out, we're tired of the service calls"... yeah save your money time and make sure to do your home work before signing up with HVAC. Called for service on my outside fan to my AC unit. Someone came out the next day. I received a call when the tech was on his way. He explained the problem and was able to fix it the same day. I had a question on the work that was done and my email to Hays was answered with a phone call the next morning. I am happy with the work done and the customer service. We called Hay's Heating for an estimate on replacing our HVAC. The man (Michael) came out and talked to us about our options. He said he would e-mail our quote to replace the system with two or three different options as far as what type and company (Trane) etc. that night or sometime the next day. Three days later we still didn't have anything from him in our e-mail so my husband called and spoke to the woman who answered the phone at the office. First she asked if we checked our spam and checked to see if they had the correct e mail address, which they had it. She said she didn't know why we hadn't received it yet and would ask him about it and would get back to us later that day. This time we waited five days mostly because we were busy with our lives. My husband decided to call one more time because we had heard that it was a good company and really wanted to work with them if possible. She acted surprised and upset that we hadn't received anything from him and she apologized and said she would take care of it. That was over a week ago. Needless to say we are very disappointed in what he did to us and that's why for the first time in my life I'm posting a negative rating on a company. read more

Our company moved into a new condo and the air conditioning went out after running for 10 days. It had been in the 90's for several days and it was pretty hot in our office. I had a new Trane furnace and central air conditioner installed today and it is AWESOME!!! The guys showed up early and knocked it out of the park. We recently had a problem with our HVAC AC system. A technician came out the SAME day we called. This was compared to the week or two wait for two other Durham AC companies we called. They diagnosed it as a broken valve with the Freon system. They were able to replace the part and get our AC system back up and working the NEXT day. I made an appointment last to get a quote on a new HVAC system, and I confirmed this appointment today. They were supposed to come between 12 noon and 3 p.m. They didn't show. I called to find out what happened. The woman who took my call didn't know who I was or what my address was. Hays has a very good reputation. That's why I approached them. I would highly recommend this company. I had to have a complete system installed, so I did research to see exactly what ton and seer HVAC system was recommended for my size house. I had asked a few friends and co-workers who they would recommend. I got a few names and Hay's Heating and Air Conditioning was the first one I contacted. Called them late in afternoon. They had someone come first thing next morning. He crawled under house.....looked at everything, told me I would have quote by the afternoon. I received the quote that afternoon, they recommended exactly the size unit I thought I needed and at a very fair price. Didn't need to seek any additional quotes.
