I've been using AC Technologies for a few years. First, when the AC stopped blowing cold air, they were prompt and professional, even though I called them off hours on a weekend. They showed up an hour later and had it fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. More recently, they replaced my whole unit. I was given a few options and different price points, and was able to pick the one right for me. I've had no issues with it since then and will be calling them in the future for anything that comes up. read more

My fault to proceed with them after the reviews I saw. Although, I noticed them after I ordered the service. 1 - the guy came over and told me I need. New heater for 2020 AC. 2- he sold me one , left and the heater still didn't work 3- I asked for someone to fix the problem. The next day another guy came and said that the issue was with the WIRES not the heater. So I paid $250 for nothing, hence the problem wasn't resolved. 4- after the second technician left my AC stopped working too. I called the office 5 times asking to fix it. They never returned my calls and didn't come back. I had to find another person to fix it. 5- now I am dealing with bank to cancel my payment. I used A/C TECH. for a trial period for a service provider for a resort property that I maintain. They have replaced 3 systems since they started. Service has been impeccable and very responsive and timely in resolving issues. The technicians are very experienced and, on their game. Pricing has been great even with the shortages of supply. They seem to obtain what is needed even when other companies tell me that their suppliers don't have the items. Had a new unit put in in March. Within 4 months unit broke down 5 times. Told I would get calls back, which never happened. Scheduled emergency night appointment--tech never showed up. Tech came on early call, left in 10 minutes, never really diagnosed or fixed issue. Called desk, was told he would call me back and never did. I needed a hole drilled for a new water line. Instead of measuring they drilled short and went through the garage wall, into my living room wall and through the back of my new couch.Then foam was blown through the hole in the garage, through into the hole in my couch. I called Heather, the owner and told her what had happened. I emailed photos on 9/2/20 and never heard back. I emailed again 10/2/20. I called 10/16/20 and resent the email. Still no reply. I have had to file with the Better Business Bureau and Palm Beach Consumer Affairs. What owner pushes a customer to this when the fault is clearly their employees. read more

You could not ask for a worse nightmare and more dishonest company than AC Technologies which is located in Coral Springs, Florida. They treat their customers like dirt. Read this and you will see. Apparently, a lot of other customers have had nightmare experiences with them also, according to the reviews here, including right up through the past two weeks. We had dealt with this company years ago when Heather Levy's husband sold us our AC and did the installation. He seemed to be a straight up guy and we never had a problem. About 13 years later, our unit was not running well. Matt Levy, Heather's son, from AC Technologies came out. We learned that his Father had died a few years before. Little did we know what a nightmare and scam we were in for. Matt appeared to be in his mid 20s and offered to fix our unit for about $1000 or sell us a new one for $3200 with a 2 year warranty. He said THAT INCLUDED EVERYTHING, including the permit, our city inspection, smoke detector, taxes, etc. No mention whatsoever of an additional $500 for a smoke detector on it. They installed the unit and told us that they would be arranging for the inspection with our city. We were busy working, dealing with a dying parent, and completely forgot about the inspection. About 5 months later, we received a letter from our city advising that it had been 150 days since AC Technologies had pulled the permit and that it was due to become null and void if we didn't immediately set up an inspection. The letter went on to say that applying for a new permit would be at our own expense if we didn't meet the deadline. We were very upset but figured AC Technologies must have overlooked this. We called them immediately. They played games with us and tried to blame the issue on our city. We immediately became suspicious because we have lived in our city over 25 years and have never had any contractor that we have used ever fail to call for an inspection. When the city came out a few weeks later, THEY FAILED OUR NEW AC UNIT ON FOUR COUNTS - (1) There was NO smoke detector to shut off the unit which we were shocked and angry about, inspite of having been told by Matt Levy that a smoke detector was included in the price (2) the circuit breakers did not meet the recommended number of amps (3) AC Technologies failed to seal the seal opening in the garage and (4) they failed to rodent proof the unit. My city gave them two weeks to make these corrections and call back for a re-inspection. I immediately called AC Technologies and told them I was very upset that about my unit having failed the inspection at all, much less on 4 counts. They said they would have Heather Levy call me. When she did, she was unapologetic and told me it would be an additional $500 for a smoke detector. We were outraged and said that Matt Levy had told us it was included. She claimed that Matt never said this. So now we were up against a wall with the imminent deadline to have the unit re-inspected that they never set up an inspection for in the first place. I tried to reason with Heather Levy but sh was extremely shrewd and uncaring. We were forced to pay $500 to have the smoke detector installed. They said they would call for the re-inspection. On the day of the re-inspection, one of AC Technologies' servicemen wanted to wait in our driveway to meet with the City Inspector. We told him no because we suspected that he would try to bribe the inspector. He left but little did we know that he drove to the park down the street from our house and waited there. Within a few minutes after the City Inspector showing up for the re-inspection, he told us that TWO OUT OF THE 4 counts THAT THEY HAD FAILED OUR NEW UNIT ON STILL WERE NOT FIXED. We were furious. He asked us if we could get a hold of AC Technologies. I called them immediately and that 's when they told me their serviceman was sitting in the park down the street from us. The serviceman was at our house in a flash and the City Inspector showed him where he had forgotten to rodent proof the unit. He told the City Inspector that the correct circuit breakers were "on back order". I had to keep badgering AC Technologies for the circuit breakers for two weeks. When I called yet another time, they said the parts had finally arrived and that they would send one of their me the next morning between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off from work. Noon arrived and NO AC Technologies. I called and called their office but no answer. Their serviceman arrived at 3 pm. We were so fed up that we disputed the $500 smoke detector fee with our credit card company. OUR UNIT DID NOT PASS INSPECTION UNTIL THE THIRD TIME. Months later, we found out that AC Technologies put a lien on our house because of the smoke detector dispute. We could go on and on about what A NIGHTMARE THIS COMPANY IS TO DEAL WITH. I made the mistake of calling them a few years back and learned my lesson. Avoid them! AC Technologies installed my central air unit. About a year later we had a cold snap for a few days and I turned on the heater for the first time only to find out that the heater was blowing cold air. With a new baby in the house I needed heat so I called AC Technologies to come out and look at my system, the system they installed. I was told that the thermostat was improperly wired (by them!). The tech fixed it but stuck me with a $175 emergency service fee to come out on a Sunday night -- to fix their mistake! It was a really terrible experience and I'm sorry to have ever done business with them. Jan'18 Update to Company's response: Thank you, Heather. Your response corroborates the points in my review. The system was purchased and installed at the end of 2008 and service to fix the botched installation occurred in early 2010. On Saturday, AC blew up, tech comes to house and said they will call me first thing on Monday for the part. They didn't, I called them. Part will take 5-7 days to get from Texas. I had to ask for overnight shipping, she didn't "think" to ask for that but was able to get 2-day. Two days, they don't call us so I call first thing in the morning to find out when they are coming with the part. No one knows. I call again at 10:15, 11:45, 1:30, 3:05 still no one has called me back. Shameful!!! It is June in South Florida where the humidity is higher than the hot temps and no one has any sense of urgency or customer care skills. And I was speaking with the owner as well as her staff. We have been a customer for over twenty years, purchased two units from them and I couldn't get anyone to care or to respond. I had to get a new central air unit and I found AC Technologies. They gave me a fair price and where able to install the unit very quickly. What really impressed me about the company was that we had issues with the installation. I called them and they responded promptly. It took them a few times to come out to get the unit working 100% but they where always very professional and got it fix. Total crooks Sent a tech to our home to look at a unit that was not blowing hot air Turned out a mouse got himself fried on a small circuit board Told me the best thing to do was replace the entire unit because the condenser was shorted out and it would have been into a lot of money to replace the condenser etc. 3800 bucks is what the estimate was,they pressured me to order it on the spot! I called another company for a 2nd opinion as I still had one unit cooling the house. This was the diagnosis of the 2nd company: It was a replacement of 20 cents worth of wire on the circuit board and a $70 service call, unit was up and running in no time! When I called the owners they wanted nothing to do with me, an apology and a refund of the service call fee would have been the professional thing to do. Beware of their unscrupulous business practices and deceitful owner. Heather would not return any calls after leaving several messages for her, and failed to refund my $1000.00 deposit to replace my air conditioning duct work, which they wrongly stated needed replacing due to mold. This was during a routine checkup under a yearly maintenance contract for a Rheem unit they installed two and a half years ago. I obtained a second opinion which confirmed they were lying to me. This company is NOT to be trusted. Red flags immediately went up after they sent a second low-level employee to do a parts assessment and when I showed him the air return opening which their technician earlier told me was covered in mold, the junior employee showed me it was just dust by wiping it off with his hand! I am so disappointed, this company installed my A/C 8 years ago, I was having issues with it, made a appointment, the service man comes to my home, drags mud they my house, tells me I am not under warrant , quotes me a very high price and makes appointment for very early the following morning , i priced around , found several companies that were significantly cheaper and one took the time and did research and found out that I was indeed still under warranty! Company installed new a/c failed inspection twice had to have them come back out because i discovered where they had installed a new duct line was loose and the whole attic was being air conditioned for months because I didn't go up to recheck their work. They came out and insisted that I pay another $300 for a technician to fix it. This is after paying $6000,00 for the new system. Now today months later again I find the cold air blowing away into the attic again from the same spot where they installed the duct in the first place. They charged me $425 (for labor ONLY) to replace a blower motor. The motor was under warranty ($0 cost that I confirmed with the manufacturer). I had already diagnosed the problem, so they were able to bring the replacement motor with them, instead of having to run and get one. I had already removed the AH panel, and the technician asked to use my step ladder. It only took him 45 minutes to complete the job. It never should have cost me $425/hour labor. Our two-year old HVAC system in our condo was leaking water onto the floor, and wasn't keeping the condo cool. The contractor who originally installed the system was not responding to repeated calls, so we decided to turn to Yelp for references. We called A/C Technologies. Heather took our call, and was very courteous and seemed efficient. She recognized that we needed a service man ASAP, and assured us someone would come the next day. Guess what? Two people came, right on time, examined the unit, diagnosed the problem, returned with the required parts the next day, fixed the unit, and cleaned the floor, too! They were able to offer no-interest financing to me, and showed up when they said would and ran a clean install - worked hard until it was done. Stay away from A/C Technologies. These guys are so tricky, my experiences with them are all true story. My A/C was not cooling all the time as there were leaks; I had them repair. They charged me about $400-$500, but the repair did not last a month. They said I had to buy a brand new one and forced me to buy a new one by saying that servicing would cost almost same as a new unit. My a/c was 6 years old so I said whatever and purchased a brand new A/C unit. They installed the A/C unit and told me that they also serviced my 2nd/existing A/C unit as a courtesy ( I had 2 units). Hear this part; about a week after that, my 2nd A/C stopped cooling. They told me I had to buy a new one again because it was not repairable. What a trick... they said they serviced as a courtesy and everything looked ok, but a week after that, a/c was down so there they were trying to sell me another a/c again. I have been a customer of AC technologies for 20 years . They put in two of my units. Recently I had a problem with my Air conditioner as only air was coming out no cool air . The tech came and said the bill would be $465 dollars . I asked for a discount being a long term customer and they agreed on a price of $418 dollar . The repair took 30 minutes as he had the part on his truck and when he showed me what needed replacement he said the capacitor had caught fire and needed replacement . He showed me the item and where it was on the air conditioner. I paid the bill and looked on line to see the cost of the part he replacement part (a relay and hard start capacitor) as it wasn't any bigger than 4 inches high and a couple of inches wide which he just plugged in and took a total of 30 minutes. The cost for the same exact replacement part was $8.38 available on line. $ 418.00 seems very high for what was done. I will have to think about whether I will use them again. read more

Had used this company 12 years ago in a different home. Was completely satisfied with the service they went over and beyond in helping me. I ran through hardship About 2 weeks after the work was done. Literally bankrupt. I called them to let them know because of their service that I was not including them, and to bare with me. They did just that. They never argued it was like they really understood. Well 12 years later I need a new AC and of course they are my first choice. They did such a great job on my first house, didn't even know that they were there till I walked to my front door and saw an extra filter. I mean they even vacuumed the stairs. These are things a women notices lol. Ok I do want to complain about 1 thing, I had bought them hot lunch and they didn't even stop to eat. Hard working men. Came home to air climbing at 84 degrees and the outside unit not working. Reached out to A/C and they sent out a tech for an estimate and when I happily agreed the tech doing the repair was back with the parts very quickly. I felt very confident in the pricing and warranty offered, the technicians both were professional and worked to make the experience seamless. Working from home it's uncomfortable at best to have no air and they really made sure this was handled in a timely manner, at a fair price. On June 12,2018 my tenants reported a leak in the AC closet.I called AC technologies as they had installed my AC unit in July 2008. On June 13th, 2018 they sent their service tech to check the problem and give me an estimate.The fee for service call was $75 which would be included in the final charges if we had decided to go with the proposal.The service tech called me with an estimate of $3600 with a complete replacement of AC unit.He told me that the coil was almost gone and repairing it would be a mistake.When I called the company and asked about the warranty on the parts,they told me that the warranty will expire in 13 days and it would cost me more to repair than replacing the whole unit.They charged me $75 and gave me a special discount of $100 if I called them before 3:00 pm to get the the new unit installed the next day.I called another company fora second opinion and an estimate of new AC installation.The service tech went to look at the problem and found out there was a leak in the drain pipe .They replaced the pipe and the pump within an hour and cleaned up the mess for a total of $309 . I confirmed with them the condition of the coil. The other company told me that there was nothing wrong with the AC unit and the coil.AC Technologies gave e a false report. Please stay away from A.C Technologies .I learnt my lesson after losing $75.Their techs do not know what are they doing.They tried to take advantage of the situation by giving us a false diagnoses of the problem. We called AC Technologies when our 5 year old Trane condenser kept cutting off. Both the air handler and condenser units were both installed at the same time - 16 seer. The long and short of its the technician first said that we needed 6-9 pounds of "Freon" or refrigerant at $39 per pound. We persisted in asking how could this be. Tech said might be a leak in the pipes in the house, It would take effort to find leak. After we mentioned that we heard that there was an investigative report on tv warning of the "you need Freon" fraud, the tech fooled around outside and after awhile said that it wasn't Freon but the tvx valve (thermostatic expansion valve) needed replacing at a cost of $800 but the company could do for $590. I mentioned that we had an extended warranty with Trane so how would this work. Tech said we would pay his company and seek repayment from Trane. THE NET NET--- not so. We called another AC company. We were covered for both parts and labor.... said he needed to make a slight adjustment in the communication between the condenser and electronic air handler equipment. DONE. WORKING. FREE TO US. Our advice: Be very careful who you call in and check /double check as no one seems to be honest. We called AC Technologies back to tell them the outcome and they, though their tech didn't know what he was doing, kept our check. No regrets. Didn't put customer first. They didn't know how to service a Trane nor deal with the warranty. read more
