I walked into the carport and the house also looked dark. I called the number and no one answered. I left a message that I was there. I hate to say it but I was glad no one was there because of the condition of the place. I left quickly and went to my sisters who lived nearby. No one from gracious kennels called me back. Fortunately my sister knew of another dog boarding place and they had a kennel open for my dog. Like I said the people at Gracious Kennel seemed so nice that I hate to write this negative review.

Our two dogs have always received great care, and we've been able to sign them up for a bath before we get them back so they aren't filthy from playing all week. Our little dog had a medical emergency once while there, and the staff were completely on top of it. They got him cared for, they were texting with me the whole time, and everything worked out great. The staff are super friendly. They are very on top of monitoring our dogs' vaccination status and health reports. They've always been great about anything they need from me or any requests I've had.

They only take cats and they are never in a cage, they each have a little room, usually with a window and a little tree or something to climb and scratch. Nancy fell in love with my boy Liam and he allowed her to brush him and seemed very happy by all the pictures I got. You hear of all these sitting services never showing up to feed or play with animals and my family had a tragedy happen when a boarding service kept our dog in a cage instead of the run we ordered, and something horrific happened so I will forever be scared. Nancy understands how much we love our cats and how worried we get for our little bundles of dopamine. I will always recommend Snuggles! The house is clean and well looked after and there is clear plexiglass between the kitty rooms and my cat just stared at the other cats. No fights or hissing. It is worth acknowledging that Nitro makes use of prong and e-collars in their training method, and if you have concerns about these tools, I am happy to report there's nothing to be concerned about. After suddenly losing one of our dogs in October 2025, our 10 yo Doberman was so heartbroken. We swore to no more dogs but then we saw Mia, a 9-month-old, Doberman puppy found on the street in LA by animal control. Her leg was degloved, necrotic and filled with maggots. She was intercepted by a rehab, received amputation and much needed medical attention. We followed her story for a couple months, hoping she would find a home, but she didn't. Somehow, we caved, did the unthinkable and flew to Los Angeles, scooping her up and driving her back to Washington in a rental car mid-winter. She was terrified, ferrell and full of dominant "spicy" energy so we booked an appointment with one of the top positive-treat-based trainers with reactive-dog expertise in the state, to help us introduce our dogs upon return and it was a disaster. Our senior exploded in pure terror, barking and lunging. She tossed treats; they ignored her. Twenty minutes in she shrugged, said she had "no magic wand," sent us home and refunded half our session. 2 days later she emailed us suggesting we rehome Mia to a foster "for our safety" which felt like a slap in the face. The very next day we thoroughly researched every trainer in Washington, and Nitro K-9 stood head and shoulders above the rest. I emailed Steve and he called back within minutes with genuine understanding, zero judgment, got us in within days and made our 2-hour commute in separate cars well worth it. In the first ten minutes Steve had both dogs calmly obeying, walking together on leash, and listening!
