We were so anxious about leaving our nervous rescue pup anywhere while we went on a week long vacation. The folks at Doggy Haven were so sweet to this nervous dog parent. I also appreciate that the dogs get lots of supervised play time. Our dog is not a dog that would do well in a "free range" environment so the supervision gave us peace of mind. The facilities are comfortable and feel more like a resort than doggie jail like some of the other facilities we toured. There are lots of extras to pamper your pet as well. This is the last time I will take my 2 dogs there for grooming, simply because the front office staff were so incredibly rude to me, a long time customer. I was not acknowledged from the start and then waved away to someone else who asked if I'd brought vaccination records, as their system stated they were overdue. Without proof, the dogs could not be groomed. Fair enough. As I'd confirmed with my vet that all vaccinations were up to date prior to the appointment, I asked if they could give a quick call to the vet to confirm, as they had done this once before. One of the ladies raised her voice, stating that they see a hundred dogs a day and couldn't/wouldn't do this. It was requested that I come up with proof from the vet, which would mean I would have to forfeit my appointment, as I was very close to their strict 15 minute late rule. I stood there while one glared at me and the other stared at her screen. Finally I said, "I guess I'll need to reschedule then." I waited awhile for a reply but both women simply ignored me. I then told them, "Well, I guess I'll leave now." Neither one said a single word to me as I left. I've already made an appointment with highly rated The Dog Stop and will not do business with Doggy Haven again. I learned about Doggy Haven Resort when I adopted my 6-month old Cavachon, Sonny, at Homeward Pets. With the adoption I received 4 free puppy training sessions at Doggy Haven. I decided to take advantage of it and our group's trainer was Kim and she was great! I learned right away that it was actually me that needed training -- Sonny did so good that Kim used him often to give an example of what we would be learning next and he always caught on right away. During that 4 week period, I learned they had boarding there and grooming too. It's quite a drive for me to go to Doggy Haven so I first tried to find a groomer closer to home. After a couple of bad haircuts, I decided to try Doggy Haven and 7 years (or close to that) later, we are still going. I actually enjoy the drive there and the setting is so beautiful. More importantly, Sonny loves Debbie, our groomer, and she always gets lots of kisses from him when he sees her. I really love that when we arrive she gets down on her knees to welcome him and he runs to her and the hugs and kisses begin. Plus, he always looks great and is so happy afterward. I have read reviews about bad experiences at Doggy Haven, and I know that things like that happen, but we have only had great experiences there and I wanted to share that. I recommend it to people all the time and my daughter actually started taking her dog there too. It may not be the place for everyone, but it's THE PLACE for us. Thank you Debbie and Mary! read more

We tried Doggy Haven for doggy daycare for our 1.5 year old dog. When we picked him up they gave us the wrong dog. I was mortified! When we got home, our dog drank water continuously for 5 minutes. It was apparent that he was not offered any water all day. Then we noticed he was injured. He was limping pretty good. Injury was not mentioned when I picked him up. I called them and they did not answer, nor did they return my call after leaving a message. I strongly suggest that you find another doggy daycare or boarding facility. read more

This is for GROOMING ONLY! I brought my dog there 3 years ago and we loved what Debbie did with him. In fact we been recommending them for years to our Samoyed community on facebook. That stops today. I tried to reason with them, telling them that my dog does not like to stand on the table for more than 3 hours, is there a way to groom him first, trim him, than give him a bath and dry him later. Thinking we could also let him dry at home. NOPE was their answer. They just seemed like they really did not want to deal with my dog. Also told me that it would take 3 hours just to brush him. Dematting is extra and they charge by the minute. And they could not give me an estimate until they saw my dog in person. Way too much for me. I'm done with this place and will no longer deal with them. read more
