Wow! I didn't know that services like this still existed. I had a blowout, and needed help to put the spare on my car. (I have a heart condition and avoid stressful physical activities.) I spent an hour calling place after place. They didn't answer the phone. They told me they had nobody available. They quoted outrageous prices. (Don't even get me started on the guy who tried to sell me a used tire for $380 - pay in advance , sight unseen.) I finally reached Russell. He said he would charge me $75 to change the tire, and he could be there in 20-40 minutes. He actually showed up in 20 minutes! He quickly changed my tired as we chatted. The spare was low on air, and he said I should go straight to a gas station and fill it. I wasn't familiar with the area, so he gave me directions, and then said, "Why don't you just follow me so I can keep an eye on you." I followed him for about a mile and a half before seeing the gas station. I expect him to just drive on, but he actually pulled in, waited for me, and proceed to add the air to my tire. Russel and his father have great service and very cheap any time I have had a flat tire or need a jump or a tow they come out if it's not for a tow they have a flat fee they charge which I have never had a issue with especially when stranded on the side of the road. 24 hour service and they call back right away if they are on the phone with. Customer they send you a text letting you know acknowledge your phone call and then they send you a text with their phone number so that if you still need service they return your call as soon as possible like I said I have never had to wait more than the distance of thier residence. Amazing service, friendly and affordable!! Called another tow company and they wanted $400-$500 for a tow!! I hung up and found A Cheap Tow and called them up and Russel said he was downtown and to call Roy because he was closer. Another flat tire caused by a nail but this time, my tire was flattened completely to the ground. Usually, I can at least make it to a shop without the fear of riding on rim but it wasn't worth the risk of completely destroying my tire altogether. Did a quick search on Yelp and this shop was closest and with high ratings. I had received an estimate from another shop that was recommended but they were more expensive and unwilling to negotiate. So I went hunting. Coordinated with this shop via text, which was convenient. They were able to fit the tow truck in my parking garage. After a quick assessment of my tire, he concluded he could repair it right on the spot and for less than the amount to tow! My tire was repaired within 30 min and I was able to pay using a credit card. Saved me so much time!! Highly recommend for towing and flat tire repair on the spot. The ABSOLUTE worst service I've ever experienced. When loading up our vehicle the man kept repeating how he doesn't normally do this and would not allow us to help. Then when we got to our destination the man detached our vehicle from the wench before it was taken off the trailer. After reading the reviews, not sure who towed my car (I saw other people say when one guy was busy he referred them to another, I called Russ and his voice mail directed me to his father I think) Whoever towed my car was rude, lied to me and told me he hadn't spoken to my friend who was on her way to drop off my keys since I was out of town, when he had actually spoken to her and had arranged for her to meet him, yelled at me over the phone, used scare tactics and intimidation (telling me he was going to charge me for every minute he had to wait and was going to tow my car and keep it). Russell is a life saver! I called him this morning to tow my car from my residence in SJ to Milpitas. It had a failed alternator and wouldn't start at all. He gave me a quick quote of $70 and said he would be there in a hour after he was done with another customer. An hour later, he called me to say he was on his way. He loaded my car onto his flatbed attached to his truck and we were on our way. Russell has a very friendly dog and she's quite fond of licking people. Acheaptow is disrespectful and inconsiderate to the disabled. When I pulled into the Santa Clara Rivermark Safeway parking lot, acheaptow was parked across all 4 disabled spaces. I asked him to move and waved my disabled placard. He didn't move until I took a photo of him and his truck. Then he moved, blocking the exit lane. When I parked and tried to get out of my car, driver came to my car and blocked my exit by hanging onto my open door. He kept saying, what are you going to do about it. I got on my phone and called 911. He moved away and I hobbled into the store. When I finished my shopping, saw the truck leaving and the police car with lights flashing had come and talked to him. This review is long over due! Roy helped me out in January of 2016; low and behold a couple days after my birthday. I called numerous places and explained my situation. Every one of the other towing companies quotes were expensive! Roy did not just throw a quote at me. He asked details about my situation and said that it might be the battery. He then explained to me what I could do to fix it and told me to call him back if it doesn't work. I had no luck, so I called him back. Russell is a great guy - I called him for tow this morning. He had another engagement and referred me to his father. When his father did not pickup the phone, he offered to come out himself. Unfortunately, I locked my keys in the car, which included my house keys! I called a place that I googled and was told they would come in up to an hour and the cost was going to be $80. So I yelped and found "A Cheap Tow" Russell told me he would be there in 30 minutes. I was skeptical based on my previous experiences of 30 minutes turning into 2 hours. Mind you, I was in a work skirt and blazer locked out of my car and house, sitting on my front porch in freezing weather. Nevertheless, he showed up in exactly 30 minutes and was the nicest, polite tow truck driver I have come across. He told his corny jokes and got the car unlocked in about 5 minutes and went about his way. In this day and age people take themselves so seriously or have issues and are rude, so it was refreshing to have someone be just genuinely nice and get the job done!
