Do not use this company. The information on the website for the trailer we rented says it sleeps up to 4 and that the "sofa makes to a double bed". It absolutely does not. It is much smaller than a double bed. We ended up having to have 1 of our 4 people sleep with another family. Having to impose on another family was upsetting and it was an unfortunate experience showing up to see the situation since we were so excited for the trip. The floors of the unit were also very dirty. I don't believe the unit was thoroughly cleaned from previous users. Following the trip I reached out to the company to notify them of our poor experience. The message I got back was that the unit sleeps up to 4 people and that, when you go to the website and pick out the rental, the website shows a layout of the unit, and where the sleeping arrangements are in the unit. The layout of the unit doesn't show a picture of the sofa made into a bed so it's impossible to tell how tiny it is once rolled out. I requested at least a partial reimbursement for the inconvenience, which they didn't honor. They only said they'd take a night off and apply it to our next rental. Problem is, at this point, I would never rent from them again. I also requested they at least update their website to include more detail so people don't expect it can accommodate up to 4 people. Also asked that they include a pic of the sofa made into a bed. They haven't done either. read more

I rented a travel trailer for 10 days over Labor Day and paid a nice price for rental plus a hefty deposit. Rental fee + deposit equals more than the trailer is worth. Now it's about 50days later, almost 2months and I'm waiting for my deposit to be returned. Of course I paid by credit card and I've been informed my deposit can only be returned by check and then mailed. So, here I am having to call this place every day and the owner will not return my calls. The person answering the phone says the owner is the only person who can issue+sign my check and he is never there. I'm so disappointed and being charged interest on my credit card. read more

While camped at Shaver Lake, my RV water pump failed. It just so happened that Dave McFarland from "A Class RV" was delivering a rental trailer for some campers in a site near me, and I happened to over hear them discussing RV water pumps (unrelated to my issue). A little bit frantic with my situation, I wormed my way into their conversation and asked Dave if he would look at my pump when he had a few minutes. After familiarizing himself with my setup, he confirmed that the pump would need to be replaced. Although he didn't have a pump on his truck, he was going to be back at Shaver lake the next day to deliver another trailer and offered to bring the pump. This is normally a 2 and half hour billable drive. Dave showed up the next day with the pump and assisted me with the installation and testing. Dave was a consummate pro and provided great customer service! read more

It's over 100 degrees and my black water tank valve on my Dutchman Voltage will not close. There are not a lot of good mobile RV repair companies out there, but I was stuck.They were friendly, professional, and stuck with a tough job until it was right. My family was displaced from our home due to the Creek Fire. After seeing a post in an evacuee information FB group page, we decided we'd contact A Class RV. They were able to listen to our needs and determine what TV would work best for our family of 3 and pets. We were able to get the RV delivered the next day to the evacuation center where Dave, the owner, set everything up for us and walked us through running the generator. When we had a problem starting the generator the next day, Dave returned promptly and got us going again. Upon learning that we'd lost our home in the fire and us needing to extend our reservation, there was no problems. They were completely accommodating to our ever changing situation and made our temporary homelessness more bearable. read more

I wish there was an option to not even give a 1 star to this company. This place is so shady and their contracts are just BS. We booked our RV with them, paid the deposit, and signed the contract. Got an email ( not even a call) that other renter has extended the RV and we can't have anything now. So, here we ended up making reservations for camp ground and ended up loosing all that money. Their stupid reply was "we apologize". Don't even bother about the contract...contract says that you are suppose to pay x amount of dollars as deposit but then they charge you double the x amount.. customer service and care is down the drain with company. read more

I think I know what the A stands for, and it rhymes with masshole. Shadiest business owner I've dealt with. Rented a really old RV from these people. Wish I'd read the reviews first. First off, it smelled heavily of cigarettes despite the fact that they have a no smoking policy. We were in a hurry - not the end of the world (my girlfriend disagreed). Then we get rolling and the thing is a shitshow. Go above 50 and it's like being in your own personal earthquake. Fridge and stove hood are literally shaking themselves out of the walls. We get to our destination and our water tank is pretty much empty - because it leaks like crazy. We try to refill it - doesn't want to take water. Finally get that figured out and it begins leaking again immediately. Translation - no showers and toilet flushing is a problem. RV smells like shit and I can't get clean - this should be their motto. Did I mention that running the generator so we could have A/C meant that the whole RV smelled of exhaust fumes? Get back to town and notice some damage to the back right. Huh, I must have hit something. I don't know what, since I never felt anything and we weren't near trees. But there it is. I take my own pictures and immediately let them know upon return. It's very little damage, but I tell the office girl "I just want to make sure it's not going to be $5,000 or anything crazy like that." No, it won't be anything like that, she says. I say OK, please let me know what it is before you speak to my insurance company. I might pay it out of pocket - since it won't be much. Did I mention that my car got a small hole in the front bumper while it was in their care, and the owner played super innocent and dumb? A few weeks later (after them saying it would be 3 days), I get a call from my insurance company. A Class submitted a claim to them. A shade under TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. The rolling porta potty itself is only worth $8,000. They are trying to get the entire roof fixed. 60 hours of labor. It's laughable. Local insurance guy who I talk to is COMPLETELY unsurprised when I tell him the name of the company. Luckily the pictures I took caught the owner in a lie, and my insurance company denied much of the claim. They still get more than should ever be paid to this company for anything. Did I mention that the owner continually harassed the insurance people? TO RECAP - Rented me a leaking, dangerous, substandard RV. Damaged my vehicle while it was in his care and denied it. Offered zero reimbursement for any of that. Tried (unsuccessfully) to scam my insurance company for thousands of dollars. If you want to rent an RV from Dave MacFarland at A Class RV, you go right ahead. Or just punch yourself in the genitals and light some money on fire, for the same experience. read more

Renters beware. We rented an RV from these guys with the hopes we'd save a little money and in the end, rented a dangerous and unreliable vehicle and, once returned, we were charged almost $2,000 worth of b.s. Charges! (like the ones listed below) ... Meanwhile when we had the RV the speedometer didn't work, the pump leaked, the electrical system didn't work properly (from day 1) ... Not to mention their customer service was pretty deplorable. The owner promised to call us several times to review/discuss these nonsense charges and wouldn't call. We considered fighting this via Amex but in the end have decided to never rent from them again and warn others ... Cost for the faucet replacement and repair will be $35.38 for parts with $2.91 tax and a half hour of labor which will be $52.50. Total for the faucet will be $90.79. Cost for the electrical will be $23.59 plus $1.94 tax with half hour labor at $52.50 for a total of $78.03. $1000 damage deductible $10.20 fuel $25.00 fuel surcharge $175 inside cleaning $15 bent keys $22.40 propane $25 propane surcharge $10.49 screen door slider $.86 tax $46.08 additional mileage $27.00 additional generator time $90.00 outside cleaning $315 1.5 additional rental days $78.03 electrical $90.79 faucet Total: $1930.85 Some people might read this and think, we might have actually done these things .. We had to evacuate from the Creek fire...3 adults, 2 large dogs, 3 cats and 3 birds. Saw a post on a local evac FB page that our insurance would pay for housing and this company would only charge half the regular fee. Other home rental companies turned out to have so many qualifying requirements that I called these guys. Kaylin was wonderful on the phone and worked out everything with Dave, the owner and they delivered a toy hauler to us at the evac. center in Fresno CA. We found out our house was saved and they celebrated with us. A week later we found out our house was gone and Dave and Kaylin made it easy for us to adjust our rental dates several times. Great business and compassionate people here. I would recommend them, highly. My new best friends. read more

I've rented an RV twice from this business. The first time everything went smoothly without incident. However the second time I had a few issues (minus 1 star) with the RV I rented. I won't go into detail at this time, my review is based on how the owner handled it. When you rent a RV don't expect everything to be perfect in every way. These things are more complex than your house AND it's a moving vehicle. My point is this; expect something to not be perfect and don't let it ruin your vacation. Overall my family and I did have a great time. The RV we rented was very clean and looked like new. I will rent again, hopefully its like my first experience. read more

I recently retired from position as a Police Captain from almost 40 years of local law enforcement here in the valley in May of 2014. I was starting my "bucket list" by renting an RV and checked with other local companies since I had no experience with pricing or the types of units you could rent. After doing some research I found A Class RV Rentals through a friend and co-worker. We went to the location and saw several of their units before making a reservation and the first thing that impressed me was how clean they were. I had visited another RV rental spot and their units spooked me because they didn't appear well maintained and didn't look like someplace I would want to sleep or let alone have my kids in a "mobile service station" bathroom if you know what I mean. And the basic rental fee we paid at A Class was less than the rental fee another RV location charged for a SMALLER cab-over type unit....you know....the ones that look like you're driving a billboard. We rented a beautiful 38ft Berkshire with three slideouts which was very roomy for 4 adults and four kids (11-15years old) ten days this past July. On picking the unit up, I was given a thorough briefing by the owner Dave on the RV and all its systems. Jessica (their Office Manager) explained all the charges such as mileage; generator time and charges to be expected on return. That can be intimidating to some people and I admit it was a lot to remember, but most instructions on using the RV are common sense and I was given a cell number to call 24/7 in case of questions or issues. I actually did have to make a couple of calls, but those were primarily just because I was trying to reassure myself I was following the proper procedure. We used the A/C (we had to power the generator to run the cool the entire cabin in the Valley...no surprise there) as much as we felt to be comfortable and stocked the fridge with everything we thought we would need for our 10 day trip. All of the appliances and electronics (including the DVD player) were in great condition and the fridge worked just like ours at home, albeit smaller. The unit came "naked"-no utensils, pans or linens but that was fine with us since we actually preferred to use our own items from home. Plus there was tons of storage space both inside and underneath the unit to hold all our camping supplies and dry goods. Our plans were to go over to Pismo Beach for the Fourth of July; then north thru Big Sur and on to Monterey. We left Monterey and headed east on I-80 to my dream spot-Yellowstone National Park. Overall, the experience is as good as you make it and ours was GREAT...RV's are not known for being economical since its big diesel engine has to power and move a large and heavy load over the road and every hill along the way. However we did manage to get 8 to 10 MPG depending on the terrain. The unit was very clean and easy to handle and maneuver. Our experience with A Class was everything pleasant and professional that you could expect. We give this place "ZERO" stars (only marked 1 above because it is required to post this review. They totally rip you off! The staff was not forthcoming with some of the 'small print' in their contract and when we tried to cancel a reservation due to their lack of business 'etiquette', we couldn't. We were charged $500 for a rental that we NEVER even used. We did not even pick it up from them. Then after the fact, we tried to talk with the owner and would have even settled for 1/2 a refund, but the owner and the staff were not friendly in the least and would not budge an inch. This business is the worst. Save yourself the misery and rent elsewhere! Anywhere is better than these thieves! Big hidden costs, huge rip offs, and dangerous vehicles. We rented an RV from them in June 2017 for 4 days and it costed us over $4000. Their quoted price was only about $1000 and looked very attractive, but they could simply add "N" times to their quoted fees or add extra cleaning items, such as stove and bathtub, which you might think all belonged to interiors. Two small exterior scratches costed over $2000. When we called them, they would always say to get us back in three minutes, but they would never get us back. We found this place pretty much at the last minute before our trip as all other local RV rentals were sold out. This place had some very bad reviews and seemed fewer people were renting from them. We took the chance and learned. They would charge you if ever they could find any excuses. Because they had fewer renters, they would milk them out of blood to survive. I read a review (from either Yelp or Google) before renting from them saying that their RV got a broken axial on the road. Surprisingly while we were in their office, another renter called in and complained that their axial broke on the road too. If you'd like to risk your lives for some reasons, you may try to rent from this place. read more

I have rented the 21 foot outback and the 31 foot tango. Both trailers were were clean when I picked them up. They demonstrated how to work all equipment, and performed a walk through to note any previous damage on the inside and the outside. They made sure I was comfortable with toeing the units and that I understood all of their instructions before I left I highly recommend them and I will rent from them again read more

This was the first time renting an RV so I didn't know what to expect but they help you with everything. The thing I love the most was that they make you feel comfortable. We had it for a week and we had a great time. I had pic's but they in the cloud but as soon as a can retrieve them I will post them cuz it was gorgeous RV. The only thing that I recommend is, to make sure that everything is working correctly which they do but also make sure that you empty your tanks which they do mention that. I have never rented an RV before so I can't compare this company with any other but I will report about my experience. The company was really easy to work with to make the reservation. I called them a number of times with questions and they were always happy to answer everything. I'm sure they have a lot of experience with people who have zero RV experience like me. We picked up the RV and a worker went over systems and how to operate things. Honestly, it took about 40 minutes and there was a ton of information--too much for us to remember. I think a manual or some printed material would have been useful. I took notes but then when we got to Yosemite by the time we needed the information, my notes really weren't adequate. The RV was pretty old but we had one of the cheaper units so it was what I expected. Except the bedspread and pillows were just nasty. Also, I think they would be better off to change out the dirty carpeting and just put linolium--the carpet was pretty bad. The bathroom and kitchen areas were clean. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of lights, the fridge worked great, the stove worked great. The shower is really tiny but we got wet, soapy and rinsed. We ran out of water on the 3rd night and myself and my husband had only taken 1 very short shower each--I didn't even wash my hair. It was our last night, so we didn't bother filling up up but we had expected not to run out. When packing up, we had a problem pulling in the awning--it wouldn't roll up. We called the office and the guy tried to talk us through it but it wasn't working. We finally found a fellow camper who had the same type of awning and he helped us. He put some silicon in the screws and used a wrench to unlock the frozen "thingy" and the awning worked. It was really frustrating and stressful wondering how we were going to drive back to Fresno with the awning down! Fortunately, we had no problems at the dump station, thank God for that! Overall the experience was MUCH better than tent camping, but also A LOT more expensive. For us renting the RV was an experiment to see if #1 we would want to invest in an RV ourselves and #2 is renting an RV cheaper than staying at Yosemite Lodge. We discovered we do not want to buy an RV--it seems like a hassle. And, in the end, it was not cheaper than spending the same number of nights at Yosemite Lodge considering the cost of the rental, special insurance, gas ($100 for a roundtrip to Yosemite at less than 8 miles to the gallon) and the campsite. If you want to rent an RV, I would recommend this company. read more

Awesome experience from when I made the reservation to the refund of my security deposit. Like others who have left a review, I had never been in an RV before (let alone rented one) so I was nervous. Would everything work? Would it be clean? Easy to use and operate? Would they explain everything? When I returned it would they ding me for things that weren't mine? None of my worries ever came to fruition; the coach was clean (inside and out) and (most importantly) smelled clean. I actually was able to see the coach a few weeks before our trip and was taken through it from top to bottom so I knew what to expect and how to pack. It was actually pretty easy to drive (after I got over my initial panic). We had a 34' class A and it was BIG; but after a while you get used to it and we never had any problems. Everything worked perfectly; the bed was really comfortable, the kitchen was very functional and once we used the pop outs it was very spacious. We met up with some other friends and they were really impressed with how nice it was; and these were seasoned RVers! The office staff (Jessica and others) were great to deal with; always very responsive and helpful. I always felt that if anything would have happened they would have been there to help me, but fortunately we didn't have any problems whatsoever. Equally important was the price; we shopped around and found their prices to be the most competitive anywhere. We actually live in Southern California and drove all the way to Fresno to rent from these guys. How can you beat that formula? A top notch product, exceptional service and a competitive price?! We enjoyed the experience so much we have decided to take another RV vacation and rent from A Class RV. I can't say enough good things about this company! read more

We recently rented a 23' toy hauler to use in an amateur radio event on Frazier Mountain. Everything in the unit performed as advertised during our 3 night stay. We were given a full briefing on operating all of the systems and performing maintenance on the holding tanks. The price was reasonable and staff were extremely helpful. I have rented Rv's all over the country, I have gone to burning man with Rv's. I even own an Rv. I have NEVER had more problems with an Rv than I did when I rented an Rv from A Class. The Rv i rented had SO many electrical problems, that its not even worth reviewing here. Suffice to say it should not have been rented in its condition. To top it off A Class Rv charged me for the problems the Rv had as if I had caused them. So in the end I had to suffer through a trip with an RV that was broken RV and then was charged as if i broke it. WONT RENT AGAIN....ohh yeah...terrible customer service...i was so disappointed by the experience that i preferred not to even bother writing this, but i wrote it in hopes that the next person to rent from them will be more cautious. read more

The staff here is great. They work with me over phone to help me find the RV trailer that would work best for me and my family. There was nine of us total going camping and they helped us find the correct one to accommodate our needs. They explained everything upfront very Thoroughly on the contract and all the terms. They tried running my credit card over the phone but it wouldn't take. So I gladly drove into the store and swiped it with no problem. Come to find out it was my credit card company that wouldn't allow a manual transactions. When I went to pick it up they help me hook it up explained all the features to the trailer, they did a thorough inspection before I left. They answered all the questions I had and walk me through every step I needed to know. I couldn't have asked for anymore they were great. After my camping trip I elected to drop it off at the remote location in Madera Ranchos. The gentleman inspected it and everything was perfect answered more questions and took very good care of me. I would recommend this place to anybody I know. And I will use them again in the future. read more

I guess seeing their true colors before renting was a plus for us. Basically, we asked nicely for the fee 75 fee to be waived for taking the trailer back on Sunday ... yes a 75 dollar fee to take their trailer back for them.. to Madera... shouldn't they be paying us? Lol anyway, We were told in a very rude manner that we didn't have to rent from them if we didn't want to adhere to their fees.. so we didn't. I'm guessing there's a reason that these people are the only ones in town that aren't booked up for the summer. i have rented twice from this establishment with great results. This year we reserved in October 2016 for rental in June 2017. Our rental was scheduled for 6/21-6/28, Unfortunately, the campground is flooded so we couldn't accept the rental of the trailer, so we had to cancel. We asked to just move the reservation forward to a date in the future (during this calendar year), no refund requested. They responded that the rental had already been prepared for delivery. Obviously not paying attention to the local flood reports. A Class was unwilling let us move our rental to a future date, thus losing our $500.00 reservation fee. I just returned my rental at A Class RV, and I have to say they delivered the best RV rental experience I've ever had. I've rented from Cruise America and El Monte in the past, and A Class beats them both. I had to rent an RV at the last minute since my own RV broke down in Fresno, and I thought it would be impossible to rent another one at the last minute to make it to Burning Man. By some miracle, A Class had a cancellation so I was able to rent a 25' Jamboree that was in excellent condition. Cheyenne handled my check-in with a lovely attitude, and Scott provided an excellent overview of how the coach worked. The experience was so smooth, I might get rid of my own RV and just rent from them in the future. I highly recommend them to anyone renting in Fresno. I wish they had an outpost in LA! read more

We rent a lot of trailers all over California. Be warned they do not give you ANYTHING at all with their trailers. Not even the most basic items like tire caulks and a level for setting up the trailer. When we complained upon return of the trailer that these basic items were missing their response was that if we would have asked for the items they would have given them to us. We have never had a company not supply these most basic items to think to have asked for them in the first place. Their excuse was that if they gave everyone these items that they would be constantly buying more because people would not return them. They could easily add these items to their check list that they check off when you return the trailer. It is no different than checking to see if the remote control is in the trailer. We were very disappointed in the customer service. We will choose another company in the future. read more

I do not recommend this company! They have horrible service and innumerable hidden fees, plus the trailer we rented was dirty. We had to pick up our trailer at the owner's house because they wouldn't let us pick it up at 5, which us their closing time, and they charged us $75 for that. Then we had to pay $70 for a new hitch from a local boat shop because they didn't have it. Then the trailer was filthy, layered with dirt so I had to clean it just to be able to use it. When we returned it they charged us another $75 because something wasn't dumped 100% although we did follow their directions when dumping. They also charged us $45 to wash the outside when we returned it. So ridiculous! Doesn't washing your trailer when you own a business kind of seem like common sense? I'm sorry that while driving we hit bugs! We also rented 2 propane tanks. Even though we only used one, they charged us for both. Go somewhere else! read more

Do not rent from this company, they will find a reason to charge you extra. They charged me almost $800 for a couple of scrapes to the outside of the trailor from where a table bumped up against it. No dents, just scrapes. When i took it upon myself to get my own quotes they were about half of what he wanted to charge me. WHen i brought this to the owners attention he did nothing about it. i even got my own quote from the same company he did but mine was less. I believed i was charged and that the trailor was never fixed. When there are mechanical things not working inside the trailor like the TV and radio, if money is not spent to fix these items why would they fix the outside? They are not honest and are just looking for ways to get extra money out of you. You are better off renting from a private owner. read more

We recently rented a RV from A Class RV and drove from California to Montana and back. I would never do business with them again. This company provides no written instructions on how to use the equipment or hookups. As this was my first time in an RV, it would have been nice to have a few basic instructions. We rented the big A Class RV (Berkshire-38 ft long) and on day one we learned the air conditioner was not efficient enough to keep the RV cool. It was a sweat box. We learned the same day that the refrigerator wasn't working properly. We had to use the freezer to keep the food cool and were unable to keep any food frozen. We called the company to let them know and they never called us back. The pop out sofa didn't glide smoothly. Instead it moved in a jerky fashion. The water pump broke and the sink in the kitchen and bathroom as well as the toilet and shower had no water. We were only able to use the facilities when at the campsite and hooked up to an external water source. We called the company and they said they would find us a suitable place to have it repaired. They never called us back. We had to find a place ourselves and ended up wasting half a day getting the pump replaced. Unfortunately after the pump was replaced it still didn't work. There's more! ...... We could not get the air ride suspension to work on three of the 10 days on the trip. We called the company for help. They said that they had this problem before but didn't know how to fix it. After turning the engine on and off about a dozen times and two hours on the phone, we got it to kick in. The vehicle is not drivable if the air ride suspension isn't functioning. The following two mornings the same problem happened. They want the RV washed and sparkling on the outside as well as the inside when returned. They go over it with a fine tooth comb. I hosed it off and washed it with a car brush but they still charge $45 dollars to clean the outside regardless. I would suggest bringing it back dirty as you will be charged a cleaning fee even if you clean it. We cleaned the inside to the max and surprisingly they didn't charge us for it. If you have ever tried to wash the outside of a 38 ft RV its not an easy chore. Cleaning of the outside should be included in the (expensive) rental fee. Did I mention that they charge by the mile on top of the rental fee. A Class RV should be renamed to F Class, because that is the grade they get from us. If you want a fun and enjoyable experience, do not rent here. You are probably better off hitch hiking and sleeping on a park bench. I recently rented a motor home from A Class and was very pleased. From the first time I called they made me feel comfortable. I had never rented a motor home before and they were great at explaining everything in detail. The office girls were very easy to work with and their office is a fun and friendly environment. When we were done with our paperwork a gentleman took us outside and our "RV education" began. He was very thorough and had a lot of patience with a novice. Make sure you listen to what they are saying because I think people might treat them like the flight attendant that is giving you some pretty important info!! We had a great experience on our little trip and enjoyed having such a nice place for our family to hang out in. On our return the same gentleman checked back in our home away from home. We had broken a handle on a drawer. They were very understanding and we were able to take care of it right away. The group of people who work there are very friendly and treat you more like family than a customer. We had a great experience!! We will be back and have recommended you to many of our friends! We rented an RV from A Class and DISAPPOINTMENT doesn't even begin to describe our experience. We had numerous problems from day 1 and spent hours on the phone with them trying to get the problems fixed throughout our 3 week vacation. My husband missed an entire day of our vacation working on the RV. This was probably our only trip to Yellowstone in our lifetimes and he spent it walking to and from a hardware store in Montana and laying under a 38 foot motorhome. Our family vacation was negatively affected by all the problems we had. Generator, batteries, air ride suspension, TV/DVD, no windshield wiper fluid, & spoiled food from a faulty refrigerator. One of the problems that we experienced throughout our vacation was a known problem to A Class and was brought to their attention by the previous renter and mentioned in a previous Yelp review. A Class chose to not correct the air ride suspension and rented us the motorhome knowing that there was a problem. The scenery we experienced was beautiful and we had a great time at our destinations, however, our mode of transportation to these destinations was LOUSY! Owners play good cop/bad cop when dealing with your complaint. Dave seems like your friend and seems to be willing to work with you but Betsy is the one who handles the correspondence and seems to make the decisions & constantly refers to "the contract". Their contract basically states, "we can give you faulty motorhomes and trailers and you just have to suck it up if there is a problem." Customer service is definitely not their priority. They are all about the money and really don't care about their customers experience. By reading the other reviews on Yelp about A Class this is apparent. Consumers BEWARE!!
