When I arrived to drop off clothes and ask a question, I was told to come in the side because the floors had been mopped. It was 25 minutes before closing and I was told to come earlier next time! In addition, when you go in, the greeting you get is a gruff "Have you been here before?" It is not a welcoming business which is why I will go elsewhere. In addition, I had filled out on line an offer for 10% off the next order you bring in which would be applied. Not only, was it not applied until I questioned it but also I was told by the person in charge that it only works about 30% of the time. So I waited for a redo. All of this negates the fact that the clothes I brought were cleaned. read more

I gave them one star only because they have a drive-thru. Other than that, judge for yourself. I have been there three times and they have lost my laundry twice! The remaining time it took three days to get my cleaning. Pricing is more than most and they admitted that on my first visit, but assured me that their service warranted it. Not so much! The worst experience ever. I would select zero stars if possible. This was the first time I used A Cleaner World after moving to this area. All that was needed was pressing a set of drapery panels. The pressing took 3 weeks and them only one of the panels came back from the central plant. After another week the second one returned with stains. The business said they would a) return the drapery to me with the stains or b) dry clean it and return it. I chose dry cleaning and the stains were gone. The draperies were shortened before initially brought to the cleaners, and the person who altered said there were no stains when she worked on the drapery - her policy is to notify the customer prior to working on the item if stains, tears, etc. are present. Finally got the drapery panels back and had to pay. I will never use this business again as they apparently will not entertain the thought that something could have happened while an item is in their possession. read more

Consumer beware! Several years ago I took our bedspread to them to have it dry cleaned only to get it back bleached out. I filed a claim form. The manager called me and told me there's nothing he can do for me because that's just a side effect of dry cleaning. I just recently decided to give them another chance because they are so close to my home. I took our new bedspread to them to have it dry cleaned and deodorized only to get it back terribly stinky. I asked the front desk staff to smell it and they agreed. They redid the bedspread and this time I got it back with the 4x4-in hole in it. I filed a claim form. The manager, Tim, called me and informed me there's nothing he can do for me because I brought it in with a hole in it! He then went on and on about how old my bedspread was anyway. I told him I bought it in 2019 and he was being very inappropriate. I can't believe this happened again. I will not be going back to that cleaners. I don't normally write reviews, but wanted to sing some praise for Timothy Rolle, the General Manager of A Cleaner World Chatham Downs. I work for an upscale women's apparel store in the area and we had a beautiful silk designer dress get stained. I took the dress to A Cleaner World and was uncertain if the stain could be removed. Timothy reached out to me immediately upon receiving the dress and let me know he would work on it himself. He kept me updated throughout the cleaning process and even reached out to let me know it was taking longer than he anticipated. His level of communication and care way exceeded my expectations. Timothy was able to remove the stain and he was genuinely as pleased with the results as I was. I cannot thank him enough for his excellent level of service. read more

Service is terrible. They argue with their customers over pricing. There is no posted pricing, We were a first-time customer and because we failed to say "launder," ALL of our items were dry cleaned - average of over $7 per item, including jeans. We don't plan to return. read more

COMPLETELY RUINED!!! Harsh chemicals destroyed pair of pants worth over $230. Worked my way up the chain of command all the way to the CEO. Refused to reimburse for the pants even after admitting they have known about problems cleaning this fabric for over a year. Filing a BBB complaint. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Had a men's suit with mildew spots dry cleaned there. I asked if the spots would come out and they said yes, usually. They did not make me pay in advance (which was good, just in case the spots didn't come out). The spots came out and the price was $15.79. I never dry clean anything so I don't know if that's a good price, but it seemed reasonable to me considering the value of the item.. I came at about 9 AM and they said the suit would be done the same day. I picked it up the next day and it looked great. read more

Poor customer service and unusually high prices. Have never been charged $14 to dry clean a single dress of my wife's. Call me old fashioned but most local shops charge $3-5. $66 total for three dresses, two pants, and three dress shirts. read more

Brought in two brand new suits for dry cleaning. Presser did a terrible job. Lapels were totally mislined against each other (one was pressed at 3 inches and the other at 2 inches. Very expensive price for a very poor job. read more

Awful. Save your money and go elsewhere. I wear shirts everyday and i send them all for dry cleaning. Their attention to details is zero. Every time I get a shirt back, they do a good job with 80% of it, but the last 20% they totally miss. Especially: the junction between the elbow and shoulder is always wrinkled. If you have buttons on the pocket of the shirt, they iron over it leaving the button mark. Lastly, the hem is always wrinkled, I don't like to tuck in my shirts, so its always wrinkled because of their minimal attention to details. Save your money and go elsewhere if you want the job to be done 100% right. read more
