The work was fine, but I asked for an itemised invoice three times and never got more than a basic total. I work with major contractors at my job all the time so I know what should be listed. It was pretty easy to figure out their material costs were, so the hourly came out to $600, which is off the charts crazy. I liked them initially, but the juice ain't worth the squeeze at $600 an hour.

I called and person on call was in Yarmouth and it will take time. I told him no rush. He then called me and said his supervisor said it will cost $ 700 to come and I said your kidding and said don't come. I wrote a review in Yelp and a few minutes later manager of high efficiency appologized many times saying on call did not know situation and he will send over one of his workers. The worker came over and replaced a piece. I removed my review and now received the bill charging me $ 600 dollars ( labor) for visit. I paid by credit card but complained because i cancelled on call and spoke to I believe was a manager at High Efficiency. They offered a $ 100 dollar credit but not on my credit card but instead a $ 100 credit on a future overcharged invoice. Beware of this company. Does anyone know of a honest HVAC company on the Cape.

The communication with us is a 1 on the 10 scale is ONE as I was just told the parts haven't arrived with no explanation as to when. It's July folks, this is why we bought them. Of course labor costs are unknown and we would get rid of them if we hadn't spent so much. One year every condensation pan was leaking after the annual cleaning which they did address but this unreliability is frustrating and now expensive. The main installer has apparently left the company so that was a bad thing for us to hear. Would not recommend again. Always polite on the phone but comE ON on folks, I shouldn't have to keep calling.

Very poor experience!!! Had a new gas furnace and two heat pumps for heating and cooling installed…read morein our home on Cape Cod - over $30K expense. We had two water leaks in our basement and a flood in our attic that soaked the sheet rock so bad it looked like rain coming down in our upstairs hallway. Every time South Shore Heating and Cooling came to fix the problem we were told the floods were from faulty installation - a bolt wasn't tightened enough, insulation on the piping was missing or wasn't installed properly etc. Then most recently we found out the gas pipe they installed when they put in the new furnace was leaking gas! Just happened to find this out when National Grid came to swap out our meter. Lucky for us the National Grid technician checked the joints and found the leak. This leak was also from a bolt not being tightened enough. The amount of things that have gone wrong from poor quality of work is so upsetting and not once did a manager call to apologize. I was told by the nice woman that answers the phone that the manager doesn't speak with customers - I guess he doesn't care about their business either! The workers and receptionist were all nice to deal with but the installation and quality of work is very poor which to me means poor training and management. I will never recommend them to anyone and I don't have any peace of mind that the work that has been done is done correctly.
