As an organic cannabis farmer that also grows flowers on our farm in Oregon--and someone who grew up in OKC--I was excited to support a local floral shop for Mother's Day. I even share mutual friends with Amy in the art and music scene, so I thought this would be a heartfelt connection. Unfortunately, what I received was far from that. I paid over $100 (including delivery) and specifically requested no orange or dusty pink, no warm tones--the bouquet was entirely those colors. It was also significantly smaller than the arrangement I ordered last year from this same shop at a lower price. As someone who grows peonies myself, I understand their cost and value--and I know they're perennials, relatively low-effort to maintain, and not rare at all. Just seasonal like tulips, ranunculus, anemones etc. I asked for peonies and showed pictures online of the arrangement from last year filled with peonies. When I asked why it was so much smaller (even when I paid more this year) and only had two peonies, Amy sassily remarked that flowers prices have gone up "astronomically" and peonies are $8-10 a stem. Okay well for $80 then include at least 6 peonies and the rest with filler foliage. Super basic math. I told her she should have communicated that beforehand and asked if I wanted all peonies or some with other filler flowers. Tbh when I ordered the flowers she was short with me and didn't seem bothered to care what I had to say. Should have taken that as a red flag from the egotistical monster she's become. Florists may justify the inflated pricing with excuses like "higher demand," "labor," or "limited availability," especially around holidays. But what this really is, is emotional price gouging--manipulating sentiment for profit rather than celebrating it with integrity. That kind of business model turns meaningful gestures into overpriced transactions, and it shows. When I calmly called to explain my concerns, I disclosed that I'm autistic and was trying to advocate for myself because she wouldn't let me finish a single sentence. I said I was getting overwhelmed and that this was hard for me as she continued to over talk my every word with extreme hostility. It had me very startled. Instead of compassion, I was met with yelling, dismissal, and cruelty. Amy steamrolled me the entire time, wouldn't let me get a word out, and left me in tears. I had to have my husband take over the call because I couldn't emotionally handle the way she was treating me. The experience left me deeply shook. I was not expecting that at all from someone in a customer service job. All she had to do was take accountability for her mistake and say sorry and deliver a new bouquet in exchange for the wrong one or refund me. It's that simple. We even offered to pay an additional delivery fee! This unprofessional experience didn't need to happen. She refused any resolution other than a 20% refund or have my mother (the recipient of this gift) go out of her way to awkwardly bring the bouquet in to change out a couple flowers, which is unacceptable. I reasonably requested a new bouquet delivered to her I was met with laughter and ego. What hurt also is that this shop brands itself around artistry and community--but it became painfully clear that if you're not "someone" on Amy's radar or someone wealthy, you're not treated with respect. She said "you only spent $100 so that's what you get". Two peonies and cheap filler flowers. That kind of judgmental, elitist energy has no place in customer service business. This was one of the most degrading experiences I've had as a customer--let alone a neurodivergent one. In the end, I was refunded minus delivery fee after they realized how embarrassing their behavior was. I believe in supporting local, in giving grace, and in honest dialogue. But I also believe in calling out abusive behavior--especially toward disabled people trying to advocate for themselves. This was a painful and unnecessary experience, and I will never support this shop again. Amy, get some help you are toxic. read more

I love this locally owned flower shop. I recently ordered an arrangement for someone and per usual they didn't disappoint. I have walked in to buy fresh flowers many times in the past and my husband has also ordered arrangements here. Their products are thoughtful, eclectic, funny and always charming. They carry some well known brands (Rifle Paper) but most are unheard of brands. Have I really not written a review for ADWI? This place is the bomb. If you are looking for a beautiful and unique flower arrangement - look no further, you've found your florist. You're also going to be treated to a feast for the senses with beautiful and thoughtful gifts throughout. The Stephanie is a wonder, Kris is always good for a laugh and both are a great conversation waiting to happen. The shop cat, Deedee (I'm not sure on her spelling, I've never asked her), is one of my favorite parts. She's the cutest little shop cat and she'll definitely help you pick out the best gifts. On a personal note - this shop's dedication to customer service is just above and beyond. I needed a last-minute hostess gift one night - I was literally on my way to the hostess's house and eek, my bad - they were having a private event. They dropped everything and had me out the door in less than 15 minutes with two absolutely gorgeous arrangements. I could not have been happier - as these were flowers for two of my favorite ladies and they deserved - and got 0- the best! Oh, as if you needed another reason to support this awesome local business - they take Keep it Local, and there's always one more thing you absolutely cannot leave without. She always has a large variety of fresh flowers including many unique flowers that I only could seem to find here. She was always very flexible with me showing up and having the perfect arrangement within 15-20 minutes max. Kris designed all of the flower arrangements for a close friends wedding and they were stunning. Kris exceeded satisfaction as she always did for me! I highly recommend her for all floral needs!! And besides the gifts, the flowers are incredible. every time I had to pick up arrangements here I was so excited to see what crazy weird flowers would be included--and I mean that in the best way possible! With regular maintenance (changing water and taking out brown bits) I would easily have an arrangement for a week and a half to two weeks after I picked them up. This place has become my last minute go-to shop for Anniversaries, Birthdays, Valentine's Days, and most importantly: all of my 'Oh crap I'm-in-the-doghouse again' occasions. I have no reservations about walking in there absolutely clueless because the ladies at this shop are always extremely helpful, not to mention patient, and I walk out without a doubt that they will exceed my expectations. The thing that draws me to A Date With Iris is the fact that they have unique and interesting locally grown flowers that you wouldn't normally find anywhere else. You won't find any of those south of the border flowers here. They might have a few set arrangements to choose from around the popular holidays, but other than that, they don't really have standard arrangements; you just give them an idea of what you're looking for and they create a beautiful piece with whatever happens to look best that week. The ladies take the time to put their best foot forward and present arrangements of only the highest quality. They make each and every arrangement feel uniquely special. Give this great flower shop a try and don't make the mistake of going with one of those 1-800 flowers delivered-in-a-box arrangements, unless of course you're planning on an extended stay in the dog house. I called this florist based on yelp reviews and location. I am from out of town and needed two arrangements for a very special occasion. The lady I talked with was super helpful and made it obvious that she caught on quickly to my less than stellar explanation of what I wanted. Also, delivery and timing were going to be weird as I need them delivered to my hotel at a particular time, easy to transport without making a mess....I was seriously a pain!!! My two (very different arrangements) arrived at the perfect time, at my hotel, and they were PERFECT!!! She literally took the picture in my head and delivered them to me.
