After 2 months of trying to get a straight answer and resolution from the original contractor, I decided to look elsewhere. I found J & C Flooring on Yelp, a local family-owned business. The experience with J&C was quite the opposite: excellent communication, fast response for quote, competitive pricing, very knowledgeable, and the floor was repaired quickly and correctly. I am very pleased with the whole transaction and the results; I feel like a valued customer. Without a doubt, I will reach out to them again if I have more flooring needs.

Was given a quote after numerous times asking for it. When trying to arrange to have other items repaired in home and schedule installation, they just vanished. This is very unprofessional behavior, especially since I have a year's warranty on my flooring. And if something happens to my flooring within that one year timeframe, who do I contact if they are not communicating with their customers? Very poor communication! Very unprofessional behavior.

From the beginning, coming for the original estimate to updating the estimate for our insurance company, Jason remained in constant contact with us for our flooring and installation. After considerable damage to our flooring from water our floors have been installed and completed. William our installer, was on the job consistently and sometimes until 7-8 pm. Always polite and always cleaning up before leaving each day!! The staff is always available to answer questions and communicate critical information. The pattern of the flooring involved 3 different sized wood planks (3", 4" and 5"). Shouldn't surprise anybody to be shocked at that. I have spoken with multiple contractors juggling work at this particular site, so shouldn't be too foreign of a concept that I get my conversations crossed up. I explained this to him and he was still hot headed. He could have done the job anyway because all materials were onsite and property has lockbox access. Ultimately, he got his feelings hurt when I put him in his place for calling me up in an accusatory and frustrated manner and he backed out of the job. He'll also try to strong arm you to his quotation without signature. Beware, he likes to flaunt his credibility for being on a television show, Love it or List it, and he probably does good work, but I'll never know first hand. Because of his temper and attitude I can only recommend you seek services from someone else. Further thoughts on working this job turnaround time and working on Memorial Day: The materials didn't arrive until Saturday, supplied by me, and he's ready to install Monday, Memorial Day.... Seem odd to anyone else? Someone being ready right away raises a red flag. Could be luck/coincidence, but probability and experience tells me likely otherwise. Also, to each their own and there's depths to everyone's situation I simply won't, nor care to, understand but not respecting Memorial Day speaks volumes to character.

Altogether they installed carpet, hardwoods, a stair runner, and mohawk laminate flooring. Once we offered on our new home, we needed the carpet replaced in our old house asap so we could list it. They replaced the carpet in two bedrooms and closets in one day. The photo showing the hardwood was previously carpet and we preferred hardwood against the back door entry. Patrick did a beautiful job. We were going to do LVP in the hallway upstairs but Patrick recommended we try Mohawk laminate. It was a GREAT choice. It's completely waterproof and slip free and really looks like real wood. All work was done at a very reasonable cost. Patrick is very responsive and did a wonderful job.
