After many years with no issues with my garage door and seal, I thought it was about time to get it fixed after I saw it had small tears here and there. I thought that since the ladies were nice and attentive, it would reflect on their quality of work too, but I was greatly mistaken. With all the rain that's happened, a huge amount of water has leaked INSIDE my garage, which never happened before I got the seal replaced. After I called and complained, the man who installed the new seal came back and told me that the problem was with my garage floor being uneven, which is irrelevant and not the issue. The second time I called because of continuous leakage, the same man came, and PERSONALLY squeezed the rubber seal and saw the water leak from inside. He said he didn't know what to do and would talk to the owner, who would call me back. They never did, and I finally went in person to resolve this issue, and the owner didn't have an answer or a solution, and didn't want to refund my money after I told her they could uninstall the seal. This is my money that they are keeping for their poor quality of work, plus no apologies or attempts to find a solution. Very bad service overall. ***UPDATE!*** Shirley (the owner) reached out to me after the review I posted. She called to tell me I was rude and wanted me to remove it. She had two opportunities to resolve this matter, one in person before the review, the other over the phone after the review. I asked for answers, she "didn't know" even though she makes the decision(s). She wasn't interested in what I was explaining. The service was paid for and it wasn't for free, and there wasn't a discount or anything of that sort. I didn't ask for a refund; however, that's all she can do at this point since the issue is much worse now, not to mention the hassle and trouble it caused me personally. That doesn't include my time or my inconvenience. Apparently, that was out of the question to even mention it. God knows we work hard for our money and any paying customer deserves decent service at the very least. If she can't solve the problem or provide answers, why is she worried about the review instead of trying to come up with answers and/OR solutions? Please do your research, and don't make the same mistake I did. The experience was awful and the job was trash. I was in no way, shape or form disrespectful to her and she hung up on me while I was still speaking. I won't even bother sharing the details from the phone call. All I know for sure is that this is bad business. As for the review, it's already too late as far as I'm concerned, and she's not trying to help me. I don't know about the racist comment on here, but I wouldn't trust their work or their word. My garage door has broken 3 times in the last 9 months. Supposedly they cover their work with a warranty but each time they come to fix my garage they come up with a new excuse as to why my door broke again and why it won't be covered by warranty. July 2nd 2021. Called A Door Co. for a roll up door adjustment. The service tech came out and looked at the door. He said it needed the dust strips. Dave called me and stated it would be $1000.00. I asked if they could just do the adjustment and was told it may be up to a month before they could do the job. It's been a month and nothing has happened. Dave's phone now goes to voice mail when I call. I was able to talk with Dave and asked for a refund. He told me it would be up to the owner, (his wife) and she is to busy to deal with me. I learned NEVER give any funds to a contractor until the job is finished. There are other companies in High Desert that do this kind of work. Be forewarned call someone else. read more

I bought my door and opener in 2013. I just got the new door in May and the opener in July due to financial constraints. They were wonderful. My house faces south a couple miles north of the Mariannas so when they mentioned the stainless steel vertical supports I was 100% on board because of the winds that we get hit with. I called for service yesterday 8/2/21, after 5 because my door would almost close and then open up again. I figured it might be those laser things but also figured that it could use a tune-up after 8 yrs. Jason came today. adjusted the lasers, oiled everything, just checked everything out. Within an hour (at 830pm) I had a response that the repairman would be at my residence between 8am and noon the next day. I backed into the garage door, dented it and had the bottom rail and the weather seal pop off. Called a few companies locally and got estimates (time and price). When I called Adoor, and told the lady on the phone that I needed it to be fixed today, she said she would check with the dispatch person and call me right back. Fifteen minutes later, she called me back and had me scheduled within the next two hours. Got a prompt call from the technician Jason that he would be there in 30 minutes. Jason arrived, looked at the door and gave me an estimate. After I accepted, he got to work and about 20-25 minutes later was done! And he didn't just fix the issue that he came for. He also checked all the other moving parts of the garage door, lubed up all the areas that make a noise and fine tuned the closing mechanism to ensure that the garage door had a tight seal to the floor when closed. I don't know HOW this happened, but somehow I backed into my garage door from my driveway, dented the bottom section and knocked the door off the track - and it stuck in the open position! I called a different garage door company, and the lady said it was her husband's day off, so then I called A Door Co. The dispatcher said she had a serviceman in the area, and sure enough, he was there within 30 minutes. He worked hard to get the door back on track (pun intended) and finished the job quickly. Now if only he could have taken the dent out of the door, but I guess that was asking too much. Only charged me for the $75 service call. This company put the garage doors in my new house a little over a year ago. The installed a wrinkled panel that had clearly been bent back into place. I had them come out and replace it. Now 15 months after moving in one of the doors has already had the cable come undone. I have had a similar thing happen on a garage door in another house, but that was several years after installation. I'm not impressed. read more

We had our garage door replaced last week by A Door. Overall, they were ok. We called to get an appointment after something broke in our door and we couldn't open the door. We decided to replace it. We were told they could install "Thursday or Friday" of the same week. Great! At that time my husband asked about a military discount and was given a noncommittal "maybe... it's case by case". Um... ok? You either give one or you don't. When we tried to set up the appointment we were told "Next week". They did rearrange things a bit to get us in Friday, but still... why tell us this week and then try to push it off? Just be up front. When the tech arrived (inside the window provided... so props for that) he was done in about 90 minutes. At that point I was presented with a bill. There was no military discount, so I asked again. He called in and they said they would extend the warranty from 12 months to 18 months instead of giving money off. Fair enough.... but he couldn't write it down and I still haven't received anything stating that. That night (at 5:30) when we went to put the car in the garage, the newly installed garage door would not shut. It went 7/8 of the way down and then reversed. We called and a woman answered. She basically said she was sorry for us, but no one would be in until Monday. We were advised to disengage the garage door and lower it by hand. The door was so tight it was raising itself until we got it entirely down. Monday came and we didn't get a call. When we called we were told there was no message that we had called Friday. Again, there was no way to get someone out until the next day. Finally, Tuesday someone showed up to fix it. There was never an offer of a partial refund or extension of the warranty. I'm rating a 3/5 because the door is in. However, the lack of communication both within the organization and with the customers leaves me uneasy. Simple questions (like if they offer a military discount) went ignored. As a customer, I was made to feel like a nuisance instead of valued. read more

I called this company to get an estimate on repair or replacement of my sectional two-car garage door. The existing door somehow became damaged, though I have no idea if it was caused by my kids running into it, a ball from a neighbor, or just simple fatigue/wear. Either way, I cannot open the door all the way up. If I do, the two bottom sections "over center" themselves to a point where they mechanically interfere with operation of the entire door. I have to push up on the door where the two sections meet with one hand, then use my other hand to operate the remote. I can otherwise avoid this by preventing the door from opening all the way. I first called a different company that is located a bit closer to my home, but was less than impressed. No need to go into details about that other company, as they'll have a review of their own coming. I'll just say that my experience with A Door Co has been extremely positive. I setup an appointment to get an estimate (which they don't charge a dime for) the morning after I called them. The next morning, their technician (Jason) came over in a company utility truck. The company truck part may seem like a petty detail, but to me it suggests the company is more highly professional than if their techs are doing calls in their personal vehicles. I answered the door and didn't even have to show Jason anything at all. Before he even rang my door bell, he had already looked at the exterior part of the door and could already see exactly where the most likely problem was. This was a great first impression, as he evidently pays excellent attention to detail. More evidence of Jason's great attention to detail and his willingness to give me good, technical info that didn't leave me thinking he could be blowing smoke up my tailpipe came as soon as I opened the door so that he could see it from inside. He acknowledged knowing what kind of repair work the other tech who came over previously had in mind. However, he also quickly noticed that the door was designed to have no insulation, but it had aftermarket insulation added to it. He walked straight to the side of the door to confirm that the door was indeed labeled as a non-insulated door. He also pointed out the proprietary torsion springs mounted above the door. He said there was nothing wrong with the springs, and they're great for installers - but they also cost $500 to replace AND the specific springs were not designed to carry the load of an insulated door. In other words, he gave an expectation that the springs will likely need to be replaced sooner or later anyway - and the repair cost for torsion spring replacement and door repair would likely exceed the cost to install a completely new door. Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed with Jason's professionalism and obvious technical competence. The combo of him and the other details mentioned above convinced me to strongly recommend this company to my landlord. Speaking of landlords, I also asked both A Door Co and the previous company for a written estimate so I could send it to the landlord, who lives in the L.A area. I couldn't seem to get anything of the sort from the other company, but Jason came prepared with the paperwork needed to leave me with a professional, written estimate - and for a very reasonable price too. read more
