I was misinformed of the way that the windows opened. The owner led me to believe that the windows opened in a horizontal manner. When we first had our conversation about them. I understand it's been over except 30 days it's been approximately 70 days. During that time I fell off a flat and fracture two ribs could not work. When I went to install one of the windows today I noticed that the window opened up vertically. Another words up and down North side to side. The time of the purchase of the windows he led me to believe that they open up side to side. I truly believe that when he sold me the windows which way the windows opened. Poor customer service. They didn't even looked at my glass windows I brought for repair. They assumed they were tempered glass, which they weren't and told me they have to order glass. Sometime next week. Wouldn't you think that a large glass company would have glass in stock. These were small kitchen windows. I went elsewhere and they were able to do next day. read more

I'm very disappointed and my confidence in this company's word is gone. On a Wednesday, I had an appointment for an estimate for a window to be replaced. Of course they came out in a flash to do the estimate, quote me a price, and collect a deposit of $100.00 for a window that will cost $175.00 in total including installation. The gentleman stated if I give him the cash money now before 3Pm the store can get the order in right now~no pressure of course. And someone will call me with my install date it will but my window will be installed sometime Friday, although it was previously scheduled to be installed on Thursday. As he was leaving I felt happy & satisfied. Talk about and bait & switch on Friday morning there was a card attached to my garage and on back of it reads Sorry we missed You! I'm like What? And When? I call the place and a man says we came by yesterday with you window to install it. That was Your appointment date! He said in a accusatory manner and then proceeds to say today Friday the company has an ALL install job, and a couple other morning jobs. So if there's time, they will squeeze my window if not, oh well. It will have to wait, I should have been here on Thursday. read more

Horrible customer service. I had them come out to do the free estimate four windows and two sliding glass doors I was trying to get quotes of what it would be with them doing the labor and without them doing the labor and I was told by the supervisor that unless I go with them and let them do the labor they refuse to give me the measurements they came out to my house to do the free estimate for. Nowhere does it say nor do they tell you that you cannot have the measurements of your windows that they came to measure for free estimate is only if you go with them and let them do the labor. I was trying to buy Windows from them I didn't ask for the measurements they said that if I wanted to buy it without labor I would have to bring my own measurements. read more

I received a quick in-home estimate from Jaime, and Robyn at the office was extremely patient and helpful in giving me suggestions about which type of glass might best suit my needs. The installers (Andy, Bert, and Eloy) were on time, hard-working, and meticulous about paying attention to details. They showed me how to remove windows for easy cleaning, and how to manipulate the screens so that I don't have to worry about tab failure. (Incidentally, the windows slide beautifully, and the screens, although snug, are easy to remove.) Not only am I very well pleased with the aesthetic outcome, but I feel confident in knowing that High Desert Windows and Glass will stand behind their product if I should ever need them. In a nutshell, terrible customer service! We purchased windows and doors and found the service was great until we paid. Once, we paid it was impossible to get a return call. When a window (did not open after installation) and a sliding door needed repair (squeaking and sticking), it took over six-months for them to respond. And, then another three months for them to come out! When I called there was excuse after excuse after excuse. Extremely poor customer service! I found them to be unprofessional on so many levels. I have used High Desert Window and Glass for many years with pleasing results but now I am not sure what they have changed but their customer service is less than adequate. I had vandals break out the front window of my house and when the installer came to measure and replace the window he damaged the side screens, he took one of the screens back to the shop and returned with it but it did not fit so he left with it again but never came back. now I have one missing screen and the other damaged from his replacing the window. When I called the office they basically told me that they are not liable for the screens and that I would have to pay another $100.00 to have them replaced. Why should I have to pay for the irresponsible act of their company work or their employee, they damaged the screens they should have repaired of replaced them but instead they want to extort another $100.00 to make it right.... read more

HDWG have the best screen & window techs in the high desert. I recieved great customer service from the techs and the receptionist. I ordered 13 window screens, 1 sliding door screen and one large glass widow. They all glide when opened and closed... perfectly! We recently had winds and I did not hear any rattling from any of the screens.I very happy with them and I am enjoying the summer breeze that is possible with my screens. read more

Sent a couple of flunkies to install new windows, and damaged the window frame due to incompetance an inability to care - Sent them packing, and when their top man finished the install (after much phone work to make it happen) he failed to repair the tracks/locks as I'd requested during the appraisal/bid. Now years later, the beads are falling off due to inproper/bad glueing. Avoid and go with Vern's! No comparison in workmanship or customer service. read more
