Stay FAR FAR away from A Dressy Occasion based in Gilbert, AZ. Their "policies" for returns and exchanges are a farce. They give you the run around about approving a return so long, you surpass their "window". Then when you challenge that, they refuse to do actual exchanges and give no refunds at all. They will only do is give a reduced store cedit. Now none of this would have been necessary had their size chart been accurate. I ordered 2 sizes up from my measurements and the dress was skin tight! Then they said I had to pay return shipping and shipping for another dress! And let's not even discuss the cheap fabric used! Extreemly shady practices. Don't waste your time or money! read more

Stay away from this shop!!!!! I visited this store with my sister, who is the bride. I've never seen anyone treated so rudely by the staff AND the owner. Despite being the only customer in the store, no one helped her during her scheduled appointment. They were on the phone or talking and laughing amongst themselves. When my sister asked questions, the owner barked at her with absolute disrespect. The store was a mess, dresses disorganized, nothing pulled for her. They have no idea how to extend even basic service or kindness. They do not carry anything you can't find somewhere else, so go somewhere else! read more

Absolutely beautiful gowns. And they had a payment plan. My big complaint was when we were there the girl was on the phone the entire time. She was supposed to be fitting the dresses etc. But she didn't. We just did it ourselves and we were there about 45 mins before she got off the phone to help. We we're already done at that point. I love this shop! Every time I come in they are so willing to help me out to find what I'm looking for. The girls are always very helpful in helping me find my size and offering me several options. Last time I was in a girl even let me try on dresses that were just shipped in and weren't even tagged and on the floor yet! Seriously how much better can it get? Would've been nice to talk about some of the flower girl dresses with someone who worked there or even get a hello walking into the place. Was in there for 25 minutes no one came to help us or even acknowledge my fiancée or I's existence. Not sure if you are supposed to have an appointment or something, or to at least be told we will be helped eventually. Disappointed after reading all the reviews as well. TERRIBLE experience. I needed a S/M and emailed customer service to see if they had one. Apparently they didn't because they first asked for my measurements and then recommended a M/L because 'the bust ran small'. When it was delivered, the dress was WAY TOO BIG, especially in the bust. Donna Anderson was unprofessional and not helpful- told me that it would be easy to take in the dress. So now I'm out $75 for a dress that doesn't fit and even more $ to get an expedited alteration. We arrived at the store for our set appointment and the girl that met us immediately asked my friend her dress size in front of everyone. She then proceeded to bring my friend to show her the 5 dresses that she could of tried on. She was not personable and treated us like we were not there to spend money. We set an appointment for a reason so we could get one on one time with a consultant like we had at the other stores. We then all just walked out. About a hour later the girl called us and asked if we were making it in for our appointment! We couldn't believe that she actually called because she never even asked the bride her name. If you want a professional experience with a bridal consultant this place is not for you. read more

These people were wonderful! We were helped 2 different times by 2 different girls and they were both so kind and gracious. They truly wanted to make choosing a dress a perfect experience for our bride. After having a not so good experience at another shop, they were so patient and attentive and made us feel like we were the most important thing in their day. I had the opportunity to watch them help several brides and they were so caring with each one! The seamstress they recommended was fun and personable. It took a couple of fittings to get everything right, but she let us know that she was willing to do whatever it took to personalize the dress and make it perfect. Great experience! read more

I found the Gilbert, AZ location on their Grand Opening day by chance. Donna, Rochelle, all the ladies made my dress buying experience amazing. My dress is gorgeous and such a personal experience I had kindness, fun, and excitement every step of the way. It took some time to find THE DRESS. I felt silly when I cried for my fitting in this dress that is so wonderful and so important and they hugged me and said "this is the perfect time to cry" My Bridal Dress experience with them was AMAZING. They have the small personal touch in their Boutique and THEY KNOW YOU. They want to hear your story and they remember it. I took my daughter and my step-daughter to be into the store for their dresses as well. I could have gone to any other store, but I wanted the the amazing girls to help me find their dresses as well. The selection of Bridal Gowns, Veils, accessories, are things you see in Magazines and long for. They have them, in price ranges that will fit any bride. Bridesmaids dresses galore that are modest, tasteful, and even a variety of colors to order it's ENDLESS! They have every day church dresses in their Mikarose collection that also double as bridesmaids dresses (multi-use, who doesn't love that for their bridal party) Baptism dresses, baby blessing gowns, and even Temple Dresses. I am so happy to have my wedding day around the corner. I found my florist through these ladies and they have a ton of knowledge and connections for spaces, food trucks, all the amazing things to make your day unique. They have seamstresses that come to the store and it just makes it easy for you to take care of it all. With my wedding coming up, I will no longer have a reason to go in. I feel like I am leaving a family behind. However, there is Prom, homecoming, and maybe even a Mikarose for an anniversary dinner that gives me an excuse to come say "HI" When you buy your dress here, you get amazing service, wonderful advice and so many suggestions to help you find the amazing dress you have dreamed of since you were a girl using curtains as a veil. So, I would never do this. I never come on websites like this because people just come to complain mostly. But this needed attention. This store had the WORST customer service of any bridal shop I have ever been too. I went from shop to shop looking for dresses for my 4 bridesmaids. We set an appointment for this shop and we were barley even greeted when we walked in. There was no parking there. We found dresses we liked but couldn't try them on because this shop had 2 dressing rooms. I have up when we asked for help from an employee and they told us they were busy and basically ignored us. Also! I feel it should be noted that they sell temple dresses at this store but because they can't manage the amount of customers they get in a day the temple dresses were mingled with prom dresses and mixed on the same racks. They mistreat their customers and inventory. Never buy a dress here!!! read more

Excellent experience! The employees were outstanding in helping me find the perfect wedding dress. They found so many dresses that fit the style I was looking for. They didn't make me feel pressured or uncomfortable while I was making decisions and trying on dresses. Haley knew so much about wedding gowns down to the detail. She even called their California store to see what sizes and shipping times were available for a dress I was interested in. I feel like I found my dress really fast, with no fuss at all. I am looking forward to meeting with their suggested seamstress at A Dressy Occasion to work on the alterations I need. I highly recommend going not only for a wedding dress, but for a wedding experience. I made memories with my mother and sister that I will truly remember forever. I was in Phoenix for a cousins wedding and had seen an ad for modest dresses at this location. I was looking for a mother of the bride dress and am a plus size woman. When I called to make an appointment I told the lady multiple times that I was plus size and from out of town. I wanted to make sure they had something I could try on. I was assured that yes they did have some plus size and that she would pull dresses for me. I went ahead and made the appointment. When I arrived at the time I was given, the girl at the desk said oh we have you for 1:00 and hour later than I was given. She acted like I was an inconvenience, there was one other customer in the store and an other lady was helping her! I had an appointment! I asked her where the mother of the bride dresses where located and had they pulled any dresses for me. They had not, she pointed to a dress rack in the corner and said that is basically all we have, you are welcome to look and pull anything you want to try on. My cousin and I went to the rack, there was not a single dress over a size 14 and only one that size. There were a few size 12 and everything else was smaller than that. SIZE 14 is NOT PLUS size! I did pull a few hoping that I could at least get an idea even if I couldn't zip them. She took me to a dressing area and then left me to my own devices. I was unable to even try on one dress! When I came out the girl in the front said very curtly how did that go for you? I said nothing worked and asked if they had anything larger in the store. The answer was No. I left very upset and ended up crying in the car. I understand that my size limits my options but I specifically called and asked before I made my appointment. I was lied to, I would not have wasted my time or anyone else's time if they had just been honest with me. If you are plus size DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME going to this store. Customer service was horrible and they don't have anything for you to try on. read more
