When the Parador de Aiguablava came up, he asked me if I minded that this Hotel was a modern building and not a former Castle or Convent. I admitted that this barracks-like alabaster structure was a little boxy. However, when Gayle and I considered the magnificent Costa Brava views, the superb service, and the surrounding beaches and sights, it doesn't get much better than this. In fact, the only compatible Parador experience on this trip were the amazing Mountain views at their facility in Vielha. Gayle would also go as far to say that she would have given up a day in Barcelona to stay here longer. This modern Parador is a superbly located hotel on the Punta D'es Muts and is surrounded by pine trees overlooking the sea. The Parador maximizes its cliff-side perch with large windows everywhere, including the Restaurant/Breakfast Room, Lounge, various sitting rooms, and even the business meeting area. We spent a lot of time on our room balcony just relaxing and taking in the view. There's also an ocean-side Lounge were we did the same over cocktails. The Parador also operates a separate restaurant and beach in a cove below. However, it was October and that was closed for the season. This is also the perfect place to venture out and enjoy the area's beautiful beaches, cliff walks and explore the coves in a gorgeous natural environment.

While we waited for our outgoing flight to depart, we browsed the stores and ate a meal. The Stamp store had a nice selection of souvenirs such as bull figurines, candies, decorated plates, t-shirts, and much more. Other stores sold clothing, accessories, books, toys, etcetera. Restaurants included international chains such as Burger King but also local ones such as Boldu, where we enjoyed cute and tasty donuts. Other resturants served tapas, sushi, chocolates, wines, coffees, etcetera. Overall, I think that this airport terminal had a decent number and variety of stores and restaurants to spend time while we waited for our flight.

When we arrived, getting through customs took under 30 minutes with a pretty long line, which we thought was a win. What I appreciated about this airport in comparison to US airports I've been to is how well stocked and maintained their priority pass lounges were. Depending on if you are flying out the EU or going back to the States, they have separate lounges, which we found out after standing in line for the wrong one on our way home lol. The lounges themselves offered decent food and plenty of drink options (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) and plenty of spaces to sit. Easily some of the best priority pass lounges we experienced so far. The airport is massive, with tons of shopping and food options. Coming from the States, things are way more expensive at airports but here it felt like it was slightly more expensive but manageable. Definitely an airport that if you had a significant delay, you'd have an easier time passing time at.

The terminals are spacious, clean, and filled with plenty of shops, cafés, and restaurants to enjoy while waiting for your flight. Signs are clear, and getting around is easy whether you're arriving, departing, or connecting. Anywho we missed our flight as VAT line was crazy and we missed by mere minutes. That's okay it's on us, go early early haha because if you don't get a green check in your slips, that line is crazy and it's usually only 1 maybe 2 windows open to get your VAT stamps. So we could only get help via app/text message feature thru delta and was looking at a trip we saw in app the change flights by way of CDG to Boston. The texting took a very long time for responses but we were under impression that the agent was looking into the flight we saw in app that was available and decided to go talk to Air France (as they serviced the first flight) and try to explain the situation to the lady at the counter. She definitely didn't like us lol not sure why but anyways, she scoffed and asked for my passport, then boom handed me a boarding ticket. I asked if my agent had successfully booked my flight already with my previous points she basically threw me the pass and said next, but my GF needed a ticket still so that was purchased after. Then we head in get on the plane and bam, there was another gentlemen's with the exact same name as me on the flight. In our seats well turns out, it was his seat and AF messed up. Ofc, they blamed me for it and the AF manager yelled at me with utter attitude saying I was trying to get a free flight to Paris and stowaway. Yes like I knew there was someone with my exact name on this particular flight .. laughable he made a big scene and tried to humiliate me. The flight captain was actually very kind and understanding. He wrote a note stating there was a big mistake on AF part and it's not our fault. Either way the GF was out a ticket we got kicked off and have to try to recoup the money thru the CC company. Anyways rebooked with another airline and got home after staying another couple days to enjoy more activities. They really need to upgrade information systems, kiosks, and just have more available help to travelers.

You are not carrying on luggage without paying and they are strict about luggage size. If you want to sit with your family you had better buy seat assignments. No free drinks including water. Extremely Disappointed with Vueling…read more I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with Vueling. My luggage has now been lost for over 10 days, and despite filing a baggage claim and providing all of the requested information, I still do not have my belongings. What makes this even more frustrating is the lack of communication and meaningful assistance from Vueling. This is not just an inconvenience. Being without your luggage for more than 10 days while traveling internationally is incredibly stressful. We have had to continue our trip without the clothes, personal items, and necessities that were packed in our bags. I understand that luggage can sometimes be delayed or misplaced, but 10+ days without a resolution is unacceptable. Customers should not have to chase an airline repeatedly just to get basic information about where their belongings are. Vueling needs to do better. I am asking for accountability, clear communication, and an immediate resolution to this situation. I would strongly encourage anyone considering flying Vueling to understand how they handle baggage problems before booking. Losing luggage can happen -- the way an airline responds afterward is what matters. #Vueling #VuelingAirlines #LostLuggage #Barcelona #TravelProblems #CustomerService
