Had a 5+ star experience with Diane at A Fitting Creation. I needed a repair made to a dress that I stepped on and caused a tear in the skirt. I made an appointment drop off and web made our way to A Fitting Creation. It's not located far from US 40. Diane has her own building adjacent to her home. It's clean and comfortable. It was a snowy/icy morning and Diane's husband made sure that a path was cleared and that I got inside safely. Drop off was easy. Diane discussed our options, depending upon how things worked out when she dug into the repair. I don't wasn't in a hurry to get the dress back at all. She called a few weeks later and the dress was complete. She had me try it on so that I could be sure everything was as it should be. The dress was great. I couldn't even tell where the repair had been made. Her fee was beyond reasonable. She offers a number of great services, including a mail in service if you just need something like a zipper or other repair that doesn't affect fit. She also has a day-of bridal service where she's with the entire bridal party to ensure there are no issues with fit or presentation. I highly recommend Diane and will look to her in the future. She's a kind and engaging woman, on top of being a talented seamstress. read more

Look no further than Dianne at At Fitting Creation for all your wedding alterations. She's profession, talented, and makes you feel like you're having a friend work on that most important gown. Dianne helped me fit into my oversized gown, sewing in my bra and adding a pocket, which I absolutely loved having! In fact, a soon-to-be bride couldn't believe you could do it! Our wedding was postponed due to the pandemic, so Dianne stored my gown until we could begin planning again. She was able to quickly pick up where she'd left off and masterfully get my dress altered, steamed, and prepped. Her "Fairy Godmother" service was a blessing, as she brought the gown to me on the day of our wedding, lessening my stress of transporting it. The day of she pressed any wrinkled clothing as well and made some last minute fixes as well. Finally, she helped me into my gown and shoes, so that my bridesmaids didn't have to guess how to. Karen and Diane saved my wedding. After having my dress altered directly through the store I bought my dress from, several things were incorrect and my dress did not fit the week of my wedding. Karen and Diane immediately said yes and dropped everything to ensure my dress would fit perfect for my big day. It was not a small task--very complicated material and lacing. They made my dress PERFECT. Not only did they make it fit, but they made it fit perfect for my body type. It seemed like it would be an impossible task, but they did it all in a matter of days. They took time to ensure that every little detail was absolutely perfect. They are also wonderful, caring and communicative people. I had so much fun at all my fittings! WOW!! I don't even know where to begin. I found this wonderful service at a local bridal show and I'm very grateful I did. When I went to my first appointment I was a little worried because her home is so far from Indianapolis. This wasn't a quick trip down the road (but still worth it). The shop is located behind Dianne's home and perfect. She helped me with my dress and we quickly went through all of my alterations needs. The services were exactly as I expected and the price was right. A few weeks later my FMIL (currently MIL now) realized that she wanted a small bolero jacket to go with her dress and I suggested Dianne. Dianne was able to make her the cutest jacket that fit her style and the style of the wedding perfectly. Dianne even offered to make my wedding veil when I expressed my frustrations with pricing and options. The icing on the cake though was the Fairy Godmother Service. Dianne and her assistant came to the venue and brought my dress and a few of the bridesmaid's dresses. She steamed everyone's dresses, made sure we all got into them with out messing up our hair or makeup. Overall, Dianne made sure everyone in the wedding party looked good. A few people needed double sided tape or static guard and Dianne came to the rescue with her bag of goodies. She even made sure all the groomsmen had their lapel pins at the same height and that their pocket squares were folded the same. Her services were truly a Godsend. read more

Dianne is awesome! She's not only amazing what she does but she's also an amazing woman! She got us in for my daughter's fitting quicker than other seamstresses could. Plus, she will have my daughter's prom dress done in less than a week! Her prices are very reasonable. While getting to know my daughter's during her first fitting she learned that my daughter wants to become a photographer. Before we left she gave my daughter some business cards for photographers that she felt might be willing to take my daughter on as a possible apprentice. Never in my life have I felt like a princess while wearing a dress. Erin made my mother of the groom dress and It was fabulous. I am on a weight loss journey and had several fittings, due to adjusting the size, and it felt fabulous. Although, I didn't reach my goal by the time the event occurred, I am confident that I will. When that time arrives, I will have Erin make the alterations because this dress is a masterpiece. One person told me that I looked like the fairy godmother from Cinderella! Diane is a delight. She was able to tailor my daughter's gown perfectly and get the bustle perfect to make sure the beautiful lace of the train was just as beautiful down as it was bustled. We also used her Fairy Godmother service which was a big help in last minute steaming that needed to be done due to gowns being used as backdrops for photos. Dianne was an absolutely gem and did such an AMAZING job on my dress. She was very flexible, very friendly and does such a good job. Her place is a bit out of the way, but it was well worth the drive! I would make that drive a thousand times because she was just that amazing. She even came to my office to drop of my dress because she knew she would be in town and I couldn't take time off work. I was worried because they make the dresses for tall models, and I am on the small side, but she altered it perfectly and kept everything I loved about the dress when I first bought it. read more

Please play it safe rather than being regretful, like I am, and find a different seamstress. Dianne came highly recommended to me. Our initial visit was amazing, I dropped off my wedding dress, rehearsal dress, and my husband's vest to be altered, and we made plans for her to get tulle samples for a custom "cape" veil. We make the next appointment with the agenda being for us to pick up the vest and rehearsal dress and for the first fitting of the wedding dress. When we came to the appointment, only the vest was complete, and the seamstress asked if I was going to be in the wedding. Dumbfounded, I told her yes, I'm the bride, we had just met 2 weeks ago, and you have both of my dresses. Neither had been altered at all, and she didn't know the date of the wedding she needed them done by. The cape was never mentioned again at all; I ended up buying one on etsy. I should have trusted my gut and taken my dresses elsewhere at that time, but I figured as long as the work was as good as I had heard, I could deal with her being a little scattered brained. Every visit after that consisted of me clarifying and reminding her of things we had already been over. When I arrived to pick up my wedding dress, she had forgotten to sew in the cups or adjust the straps, so waited in her shop as she did those things. She gave me a piece of filigree off my dress that she said was excess from taking in the sides. Now looking over my wedding pictures, my heart is broken because I see that it was actually a piece from the neckline that she forgot to put back on, making my bodice asymmetrical. When I brought this to her attention, she insinuated that it was my responsibility to have noticed her mistake before the wedding, and she asked how my bustle held up (she didn't bustle my dress). I am extremely disheartened and disappointed, and again, I wish I would have trusted my gut. read more

I had two men's suits that needed alterations for my sons wedding...and was getting nervous as the date was getting closer! I called Dianne and was immediately put at ease! She was so wonderful to work with. She is kind, funny, very interesting to talk to, and has a beautiful portfolio of work. My guys look great in their suits and she even pressed my dress - a bonus as I was scared to ruin it. Her shop seems a bit off the beaten path, but she's not far off I-70, so don't let that deter you. I'm now looking through my closet...wondering what I can take to her to tweak for a better fit! read more
