I was very impressed with Erin's work! I took my wedding dress to get altered here. It was done in a timely manner. She was very friendly, accommodating, and pleasant to work with. She helped to alter my wedding dress to fit me well, shorten the straps, and hem the bottom. My dream was to add sleeves to my dress, which she did beautifully with ribbons. She added a bustle and came to my rescue when my cats ripped a hole in my veil. She even made me scrunchies from the scraps of the alterations. It was beautiful! read more

Erin was great to work with and my gown fit like a glove the day of my wedding! I was recommended to Erin by my now mother-in-law. Her daughter had her wedding gown altered by Erin. This must have been no easy task because her gown was allll beads and applique. So gorgeous! Erin has an eye for detail and allows for weight fluctuations in between fittings. My gown needed taken in at the bust and length shortened. In addition to everything fitting very nicely, she also fastened my rhinestone belt to my gown so it wouldn't move around but could also be removed after the wedding. Erin also takes the time to make sure you and the person helping you with your dress know exactly how the dress is secured. She even gave us some great pointers on how to make a perfect bow and how to use a crochet hook for quickly hooking buttons (of which there were tons on my dress). My wedding was on a Sunday when Erin's shop is closed, but Erin was nice enough to make herself available in order for my wedding coordinator to pick up my dress. As part of the cost of alterations, my dress and veil were steamed. They looked pristine the day of the wedding. Compared to other alterations shops in Indianapolis I would say Erin is on the more expensive side, but when you are in the shop for a fitting it is only you. No other brides sizing up you and judging your dress. No one rushing you in and out. It is calm and quiet, which to me is priceless. A great experience with Erin. Highly recommend. read more

Do not trust Erin Young Designs with your special occasion! I hired Erin to custom make my mother of the bride dress and was left scrambling the week of my daughter's wedding. The seams, buttons and hem were all uneven, the straps were different widths, the bodice was not straight, and the fabric was stained. Erin lacks professional integrity, is dishonest and never on time. Save yourself the stress and heart break and take your business elsewhere. read more

Cannot speak to her dress making skills, but incredibly unacceptable alteration work. Twice, she took my sisters wedding dress in dramatically (after 4 fittings). The last fitting, my sister asked if she took it and she said "no, are you on your period?" When in fact, the dress was taken in by her assistant. She fixed it, as we waited. And then was to pack her dress for her wedding in Ireland. When we picked up the packed wedding dress it was ready to bring overseas. 3 days before her wedding, she unpacked it and tried it on... the waist was taken in, yet again, and the chest was taken out at least two cup sizes... when this had already been fixed once before. My sister could not even fit it on, unwearable. With only a few days left to spare, my sister was forced to find someone in Ireland to completely re-do the disastrous work that took Erin months and hundreds of dollars to do. The emotional train wreck that put her through was unacceptable. Luckily, she did receive her money back which is probably the only appropriate thing about this situation. My MOH dress was also altered, and I paid more for it then I did the actual dress. The dress did fit nicely on me but when I looked at the dress closely it was done in sloppy fashion... didn't even sew in a straight line. I also asked to keep minimal train and all of the train was removed, however too late to make a big deal out of it. She could make wonderful dresses, but if she doesn't do the alterations herself she needs to hire different assistants - because it's her name on the line. read more

RUINED MY WEDDING DAY! I had to order my wedding dress to fit my rather large top half so the rest of the dress ended up being 4 sizes too big. In between the order and receiving the dress I had decided to get a reduction. so now the entire dress was going to be huge especially since I had been also working with a trainer to wedding day ready! I called several places and Erin made me feel the most comfortable so I chose to go with them for the alterations. Long story short at my final appointment two weeks before my wedding it was still too big. I told them to please take in at least two to three more inches so it didn't fall off me like it was and so it gave me that hour glass fitted corset look. She advised if I do this it will be uncomfortable to sit and eat. I told her I did not care about eating I cared about the silhouette. We pick up my dress the night before the wedding including the minor alterations to my bridesmaids and MOB dresses to which Erin advised we leave in the bags until the day of. Thank God I didn't listen. That night I tried on my dress to make sure it fit... NOPE! still too big as if she didn't do anything to it at all from the last appointment. The stitching was also terrible. I found straight pins all over the place and the dress smelled terrible like wet molding cardboard! So aside from it being too big my $2,000 dress is ruined because of the hack job they did on it! So I had all the rest of the girls try theirs on and all of them were also messed up! what a nightmare! SO MUCH FOR SLEEPING IN AND ENJOYING A NICE BRUNCH ON MY WEDDING DAY! emergency fly down to her shop that morning to have them fixed! WTF! My MOB took all the dresses while we got up that morning. she told her all the issues and Erin was on it but insisted she didn't need me to come to try it on. WRONG AGAIN! When I got to my venue to put it on the damn corset was still TOO BIG! So in the meantime we missed brunch, we were super late to the hair appointment and now because it was still too big, I missed out on my pre-wedding pictures because my talented but very pregnant MOH had to sew me into my dress (which was super difficult to do with her big belly in her way) So then there is the fact that it was also still too long so I was tripping on it all night (how graceful a bride I looked ...SMH) So $2,000 dress ruined, $1,300 photography wasted since I didn't get to get the pictures I was dying to get (I had a whole Pinterest board put together) but when my mother asked for a refund of her money Erin refused and only gave her back partial. She is lucky we don't sue her for all damages include emotional because I can never get this day back and when I think back on how stressful and miserable it went all because of her I still cry just like I did all day of my wedding. She is an absolute bi*** and I hope this review will save anyone else form having their entire wedding ruined by her. (I have tons of photo proof but can't figure out how to upload them) read more

I had been looking for a certain fabric that MULTIPLE designers and wedding industry insiders told me was NO where to be found in the Indianapolis area and that I would have to make the trip to Chicago to find it. Absolutely worst nightmare of my whole wedding experience. I could have never imagined it would be this bad. My dress was ruined. I truly feel her and her assistant were on different pages when it came to my dress. Their lack of communication about my dress showed when I came in every single time. Where do I even begin?! First of all, I highly recommend Erin to anyone and everyone who need something altered, designed, fixed, etc. She is so amazing at her job and you will now leave with what you expected to leave with, but something much much better than you could ever imagine!!! I came to Erin only 30 days until my wedding with a terrible wedding gown dilemma, needing many alterations done to fix my dress. I was a complete mess, full of stress and tears over a terrible situation and Erin completely changed my wedding gown experience to be the most joyful event of my wedding preparation. She was always extremely reassuring and calm (when I was in complete panic mode!), adding so many unique and special touches that completely changed my dress to that beautiful gown that I could never have even envisioned myself! Even though I came to her in the heart of the wedding season when she was the at her busiest, she was able to fit me in for as many appointments I needed to feel comfortable while altering my dress. Erin remained flexible during an extremely inflexible time in the bridal world, accommodating me even when I lived in a different city. Erin made every appointment extremely joyful, full of champagne and celebration each time! During my last alteration appointment (a few days before the wedding!) Erin noticed another problem with the dress (the outer lining was not properly attached to the inner) and still assured me that she would fix this problem before the wedding - and again she held her word! The dress could not have been any more perfect! And the best part was all of the small special details she added to make it almost feel like a brand new dress, taking away all of my negative memories/feelings attached to the dress from my previous bridal experiences before coming to Erin. I cannot highly recommend her enough!! She not only did my bridal gown, but also both of my older sister's wedding gowns, my sister's belts for my bridesmaid dresses, as well as my mom's mother of the bride dress. Each and every experience was amazing, leaving us all feeling so happy with the most perfect dresses! Erin is such a sweet and dedicated person, working until the ending result is perfect. Erin was AMAZING! She has such a talent for anything to do with dress making or alterations. I bought my wedding dress from an off the rack place and it was a size 10, I am a size 2. Obviously altering this strapless dress to fit my body would be a struggle but Erin was so great. She even added buttons all the way down and bra cups for me. I have seen a lot of weddings where the girl is wearing a strapless dress and there is a gaping area int he breast region. I told her my concerns and she said not to worry!
