I am a contractor in the local El Dorado county area. We used A&G on one of our sod project. Set up the company to deliver the product to our recent project, and one of their drivers were asked if the sod can be brought down to a certain area. However, when, unloading a pallet on a walkway area, they broke a partial CMU stucco retaining wall, knowing that the driveway was on a bit of an incline. After receiving the call from my employees the forklift driver said sorry we can't be liable to help you because you signed a waiver. I contacted the company directly and basically was told that once I sign, anything they do is the contractors responsibility regardless what happens because of their error and possibly not experienced employees I am stuck with an expensive repair and got shut down immediately within a couple minutes. Sorry we can't help you you signed a waiver best wishes to you. Not happy with this company at all no compassion, or absolutely anything to try to even help us with the situation just covering them selfs., after using them for 10 years they dropped the ball on us. Beware with their forklifts and do not sign. Would've been nice to have gotten some type of credit at least for that sod delivery or something. Sadly, they were just thinking of their own interest as any big company would. A&G you guys hurt me on this one.. read more

Funny thing about this was that I though I had called a local SOD farm near me but ended up calling A-G SOD as I was trying to order while stuck in traffic. Well I found out the day before delivery that I had ordered from the wrong company as the local SOD farm had no order from me. Since it was already ordered, I thought I would give it a try. Well, it turn out it was one of my best mistakes so. The grass was actually delivered in the early morning and waking up to see the grass already there was like Christmas. They had dropped it off in my driveway and organized it neatly so we could still get in and out of the cars. Also, they left instructions again on how to care for the grass as they also sent me information by email as well. The grass was very green and healthy. I had ordered the Elite Plus. They are a big company with many choices and they were much cheaper than my local SOD farm which I don't mind \_(' * ')_/ Thanks Everyone for great looking grass! read more

The only thing good about this place is the sod prices. I ordered 1200 sq ft of sod for delivery. They told me they were about a week out, so I set up the appointment, and waited for the confirmation call or a follow up call. The day before the delivery date, I get a call confirming my delivery for 2:30AM! This was a ridiculous time. I verified the time with the caller, and asked for a different drop off time since I would be at work all day. They told me this was not possible since it was already scheduled. So great, a 2:30AM delivery time in a residential neighborhood. 2:30AM rolls around, no delivery. 2:30AM, no delivery. No fact, nobody showed up until 4:00AM. Now it should be noted that I was waiting up for the driver this entire time. So I just went to bed and let them unload. I told the dispatcher to have the sod dropped in the drive way. Moved my cars out of the way and everything, and what did they do? They put one pallet into a section of dirt I had already smoothed out and prepped for sod. A second pallet down by the side walk, and the third pallet in the street! Absolutely ridiculous! So now I have to hope my grass is still in the street when I get home, because I don't have a pallet jack to move it Into the drive way. If you're going to run a business, hire people with some damned common sense! read more

What's the point of a having a delivery window if no one seems to stick by the schedule? A driver came and delivered sod to my residence at 2am instead of the scheduled time of 5am-7am. The woman in the office was "apologetic" but would do nothing else to accommodate us for the inconvenience of not only waking up our ENTIRE neighborhood with a semitruck and forklift at 2am for about 30 minutes worth of unloading time, but also dropping the product in the WRONG location at the house, creating extra work for the construction crew on site. Then tried to blame my construction crew for not providing a clearer delivery time. UMMM who delivers SOD TO A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD AT 2am???? Overall not impressed with customer service. read more

They delivered (on time) "Elite Plus" sod for my backyard. It's been 2 1/2 years and 2 'Lodi summers' of the heat. Love the lawn. I also seeded one of my two smaller front lawns with Elite Plus seed. Germination was as they stated and the lawn is healthy. In April I am doing my other front yard lawn with a sod / seed combo and looking forward to using A-G Sod. BTW - the mix has 10% Rye which helps the areas that need re-seeding fill in faster (we have dogs so urine spots are an issue at times). I plan to pick up the rolls of sod (2'x'4') and seed this time instead of getting the delivery since I'm sodding a smaller area. read more

Here's my story: I made an online order on March 20th and the order was processed on March 21st for a March 27th delivery. I called on the 21st to cancel my order because of last minute landscaping changes and they were very helpful when I called. I went on a business trip for the weekend of the 27th and came back on the 30th to pallets stacked high of dying sod... they still delivered despite my canceled order... I just called them again today (March 30th) and they corrected the issue and Cathy was so helpful in resolving the issue. Thank you A-G Sod Farms for staffing such quality customer service. I had the privilege of waking up at 330am today from one of your delivery men, delivering sod in MY residential neighborhood. Doesn't seem so bad right?? Until you are woken up to the 18 wheeler and tractor delivering the Sod at 330 am on a Saturday morning. This is a residential neighborhood!!! Your hours of operation are not until 730 am and 8 am on Saturday. Explain to me why you have a delivery man coming this early and taking over 45 minutes to deliver this grass. I woke up and asked the man what was going on, he said he was taking orders from his boss to deliver this early. Unless this man lied about the company he works for and what his boss said, and all this is an illegal side job?? Ill leave my review until I get contacted from your company. read more

This was my second time in the last 3 years using A-G Sod. They have very friend staff from placing the order to deliver. Gilbert, the delivery employee even remembered us from the first time. It may be our unique driveway that was unforgettable;) Unmatched customer service: There was a problem with some of the Sod rolls. I called and spoke with Tony and he was quick to get me replacement rolls with no additional delivery charge. Did I mention I am about an hour drive from the Lodi/Stockton area. read more

Woke me and my neighbors up at 4am on a Saturday with a delivery via 18 wheeler. Just what we all wanted on a Saturday, thanks douchebags!

Ordered through Sod Country (209)300-4093 (sodcountry@charter.net) www.sodcountry.com, since A&G is their wholesaler. They beat everyone's prices, and we shopped extensively. The "Elite Plus" is the recommended product for Antioch, with 90% tall fescue and 10% Kentucky Bluegrass. Cost $0.35/sf! (Compare to $0.42-$0.75.) Delivery was only $60, which is very competitive, allowing curbside access. (May be free for over 1000 sf; please check.) Only issue is that the edges may dry quickly, and reliance on adequate irrigation is just not enough. However, after first mowing, the rest starts to fill in any blanks quickly. It takes some patience. Even though they don't use the plastic netting to hold the sod together, I actually prefer the way they delivery it. The soil is dark and seems to have some peat, not a sandy/clay mix. With a flat nutrient base soil, roots are attaching well, and we look forward to continued year-round green which the Elite Plus offers. BTW, it's also drought tolerant, once established. Driver is friendly and timely in delivery. All went according to plan. Very satisfied. read more

The installers added sod in my front and back yard June 20, 2014. They covered the sod over two of my sprinklers in my back yard. I called the company and left a message. They never returned my call. Will not use them again. read more
