The quality of this grass is amazing! Better than I actually anticipated. We ordered the 90/10 tall fescue grass, and it's perfect for our backyard! This was our missing piece to finishing off the large pieces of our renovation. Also, the customer service I received from Savannah Treloar was phenomenal. Savannah went above and beyond with helping me decide what grass to choose from. She is VERY knowledgeable in her product and seemed to really love her job with the excitement she had in her voice. She didn't make me feel pressured to purchase any type or to purchase anything at all. So anyone who works with Savannah in the future, you'll be in great hands!! Ordered 600 sq feet of Bolero sod in April of 2023. It didn't even last 3.5 years. When delivered, I noticed that half the rolls were "ripped" improperly and the roots were exposed. I was required to take photos and document the bad rolls for pick-up in order to get reimbursed. Sod had a lot of weeds in it. I was constantly pulling weeds out of the sod in the first year. By year #3, the grass wound up turning yellow and was coming out like tufts of hair. I'm meticulous about my lawn and have it properly irrigated and fertilized. He got his Kurapia from Delta Bluegrass, however, and they followed through even though they did not install their product. Clayton really helped me out, sending over some guys to replant the yard. I am specifically reviewing Kurapia sod from Delta. We had a native bent from them that was fine but needed a lot of water. On the advice of our landscaper we put in a ~1700sq foot lawn replacement of Kurapia for better drought tolerance. We were told Kurapia would choke out weeds. Not true. It is the other way around. Additionally, the sod came absolutely packed with weeds from Delta. None of these weeds are native to our Santa Cruz area, never seen them before. They are so invasive they choke out the Kurapia, which is a fragile ground cover. To weed our 1700ft it takes about 5 hours a week, they grow back in days, much faster than Kurapia. This is unmanageable. We have had the installation for 17 months, and now have to go back to a native grass. What a massive waste of money. read more

Terrible, just terrible. I ordered grass from them for 2 years, for all my projects, so I was a loyal customer. They also said they "warranty" the grass. The Customers grass died couple days later, watering 20 minutes, twice a day. I give them a call , they just said I wasn't watering enough and they wouldn't warranty it. The lawn had new irrigation, a new sprinkler timer and new wiring so it was watering on schedule. Guess I have to find a new sod company now. read more

That's with continual watering and care exactly as they suggested. I have no pests and I fertilize as they recommended. A rep came out to take a look, and really had a lot to say, but actually said nothing that helped resolve my situation. I don't know if it's the wrong species -which I believed might be the case - but I didn't get that information. Maybe this species is just brown? Maybe that's the look...brown shriveled ground covering with a few nice green blades? Who knows. I wasted a lot of money, and they do not stand behind their product. You're on your own. Ordered a pallet (500 sq feet) via Evergreen Supply, and the delivery was on-time, and efficiently and safely dropped off on my driveway. Grass was in great shape--looked fresh cut that morning. All except one roll was perfect--good edges and thick base (a very bottom roll had some torn edges, but non-issue for me) At one month, sod is growing in great, and starting to root into the dirt. Very unhappy, I regret. I bought 700 s.f. of Kurapia sod from Soils Solutions LLC to save water replacing grass. It is dying. Needs as much water as my grass. It looks good in the spring with regular watering, but when warm weather arrived it started dying. I tried to get solution to stop the dying from the supplier Delta Bluegrass but insufficient support and no solution. Very expensive, spent over $3,500 for 675 s.f. including grass removal, hauling and dumping fees, and Kurapia installation. Maybe Kurapia needs certain soils conditions to flourish. This information should be provided by sellers. I've read others also have issues with Kurapia. I don't recommend it. It's not worth the gamble. read more

Really bad grass, they delivered for me on Monday, in July, you should see the little square portions of dead grass on many rolls. Do not use this company, there are many better alternatives for grass, paying a little more will save you a lot of hassle in the long run read more

Absolutely terrible experience!! First they delivered bad grass. I mean it was brown, brown, brown. So, it took a week for them to replace it with new grass. Then when they actually delivered it the second time, they left it on the street, despite being told to deliver it up in my driveway. And I waited for someone to knock, and let me know they were here, and no one did. So, it's sitting on the street right now. I called the company, asking them to get their guy to move it to my driveway with their forklift, and they said, "Oh, he went home for the day." Realize this was like 11AM in the morning. They even told me that someone knocked on my door to let me know it had arrived, but I have a video camera and record my entryway. No one ever came to the door. Their response was, "Oh, I'm sorry we can't help you. You need to sign a waiver before we deliver it in your driveway." Odd that I didn't need to the first time. Do not buy from these guys. Purchased Delta's California Native Bentgrass a year ago to replace my water-thirsty lawn with a drought-tolerant, no-mow native. As enthusiastic as I have been about the product, the service has been consistently above and beyond. Two examples: * After a prompt and professional installation, I continued watering in the lawn, per instructions. We hit a cool patch of weather, during which a previously existing and serious mildew infection that my grapes had been suffering from ended up taking hold in the lawn. Though Delta had nothing whatsoever to do with the mildew infection, Delta came out, removed nearly 800 square feet of infected lawn, and replaced it with new sod at no cost to me. * Our home will be on the Bay Friendly Garden Tour at the end of April, a full year after the initial installation. Unfortunately, we recently had a severe gopher infestation. After dealing with the gophers, I called Delta to get a recommendation as to how best to repair the damage in time for the tour. Delta came through again. We decided that because time was short, it would be best to patch with sod from rolls. I told them I thought that I'd need two. When I went to pick up the sod, I found that four had been shipped, and that the replacements rolls had been provided at no charge. These people have a superior product, and customer service that just doesn't quit. Dina is the best! read more

I purchased some sod before Summer last year, the sod arrived on time and was in good condition. After a few weeks portions of the lawn started to struggle and die. I called Delta Bluegrass to see what I could do. Ron who is their field rep, so to speak, came all the way to Chico from Sacramento/Stockon just to look at my lawn and determine the best solution. He was extremely nice and professional, on time (my time is very limited and this is important to me!), and very knowledgeable. After discussing it with me and explaining my options, we decided to have some seed sent to me. It arrived as planned, I re-seeded and all is well. I need a little more seed to fill out the problem areas. Called Delta again, Alex (female) was very patient with me and was a huge help! Without going into great detail about this situation, in short, when we had followed the instructions they gave us regarding how to care for the sod we bought from them, and the sod died anyway, they sent a local representative out to our home to look at the situation and talk to us. Ordered almost 3,000 square feet of sod. Came on several pallets. As my crew got into rolling the sod out, we found that many of the rolls were poor quality. Ripped and mangled. Already yellowed. This made the job much, much harder. We had to throw out about 20%. It was very lucky that I had over ordered by accident. We barely had enough usable sod to finish. I was hurt by this since I had to pay to haul away the crappy rolls. I called their office (same day as delivery) to complain about the quality but got no help. No return call. Be sure to make their driver wait while you inspect their product if you order. And be sure to sample from lower in the pallet. They arrange their product like strawberries. Good ones on top, poorer on the bottom. read more

I replaced my landscaping after much research in 2015 with Delta Bluegrass Native Bentgrass. It struggled the first year during the heat despite my giving it as much water as it should have needed; recovered a little over the winter. Then the last two summers, it turned brown in most places and almost looked dead, especially in 2017. My water bill was almost $400 as I tried to keep it alive. I came to the conclusion that it is definitely NOT drought tolerant. I placed several calls to the company and left messages from my representative but they were never returned. This year -- same thing -- only worse. Brown all over despite being watered four times a week twice a day. I can't afford the water for this drought tolerant lawn that was supposed to use 1/2 the water of regular grass. What a crock. Just called last month again and left a message asking for any help and a drop by to take a look. My whole front yard and back yard will need replacing and I paid good money for this sod. I am very upset but they don't care. read more

In today's market there are many sod options and selecting just one can be overwhelming. Initially, I had purchased a few strips from a local nursery for the front lawn that was not the best quality. After a few days, it began to die. I also had an order direct from Delta Bluegrass that was the best quality. My advice would be not to buy sod from this company. I asked for small blade grass and Bolero was recommended. Told it was a slow grower, needs less water, and did well in the sun. Wrong - I never seen grass grow so fast and suck water to stay alive.After only several months the blade width has doubled maybe tripled. I complained about wide blades and weeds and got a smart answer " we wouldn't be in business if it had weeds". The kicker was when delivered you receive a no recourse statement and no expressed warranty but this wasn't disclosed at time of sale. I say again buy elsewhere and maybe they will go out of business. Read other reviews if you don't believe me. read more

Last October I had my crab grass lawn removed and replaced with their bolero sod. It looked nice thru the winter and now it looks terrible. It is full of nut grass and crab grass. Total waste of money. They provided no care instructions and when I called them about it they refered me to some sod specialist who will probably want a ton of money to tell me to rip it and start over.
