After nearly 18 wonderful years with my precious little girl, I knew the time had come to say goodbye. I wanted her final moments to be peaceful and free of stress, so instead of going to the vet clinic, I scheduled a home visit with A Gentle Farewell. From the moment Dr. Orlando stepped through the door, her warmth and compassion filled the room. She was gentle, patient, and everything you would hope for in someone guiding you through such a difficult day. She took time to explain each step with care, always pausing to ensure I was comfortable and understood what would happen next. Saying goodbye is never easy, but Dr. Orlando's kindness and respect made all the difference. She treated my sweet girl with such tenderness, giving her a calm, dignified transition over the rainbow bridge. Though it's a moment no pet parent ever wants to face, I am deeply grateful to have had Dr. Orlando's support. I would wholeheartedly recommend A Gentle Farewell to anyone who wants their beloved companion's final moments to be filled with peace and love.

I was completely taken aback by A Gentle Farewell and how great they were when we had to say goodbye to our dog Manny. From our initial consultation with Melissa to Dr. Martin were so kind and accommodating. We were advised what the process would entail and what to expect which provided some relief as we said our goodbyes. This process is never easy, but A Gentle Farewell provided me with peace of mind that my furry companion was no longer in any pain. Thank you Dr. Martin and your tech for helping us say goodbye. To quote Ted Lasso: "It's funny to think about the things in your life that will make you cry just knowing they existed and then it becomes the same thing that will make you cry knowing that they're now gone"

We just had to say goodbye to our sweet girl, Lilly, a couple days ago. She was only 6 years old and had just been diagnosed with bladder cancer a little under 2 months before. She gad been at so many vet appointments, chemo injections, 2 ICU stints that we wanted her to be put down at home. We found out on Sunday that she was very sick and would need to leave us the next day. I looked online for Animal Hospice Medina, Ohio and A Gentle Farewell popped up. I called right away and, thank God, they had 1 more opening the next day. The vet that came to our home was so wonderful and caring to us, but more importantly, to Lilly. She gave us all the time we needed with Lilly before the sedation, after the sedation, and after she was gone. We had a blanket on her and the vet wrapped her up nice and snug and put her in a basket, with her little head and ears sticking out. I was able to walk with her to the car, give Lilly some final kissies, talk to her one last time and say goodbye. It was a very emotional 24 hours but Lilly got to go to The Rainbow Bridge exactly how we wanted her too. Don't take your dog to the vet to let them go if you can get A Gentle Farewell to come to your home.

Laid to rest on 1/3/2020, but in my heart forever!

A Gentle Farewell provides a service that is simply invaluable to pet owners like me who share a profound emotional bond with their pet and who cannot imagine saying goodbye to them in the clinical, public setting of a veterinarian's office -- even the best one! Thanks to A Gentle Farewell's in-home service, we were able to lay our beloved Boxer mix girl to rest in a peaceful, private setting. We swaddled her in blankets and hand-fed her fistfuls of ham, lit candles all around her, and were able to whisper messages of love into her ear for over an hour as we moved through the process at a pace that felt comfortable for us. We were able to hold her as long as we needed, even after she had passed on. Dr. Smith was so gentle with our dog and kind to us from start to finish. I honestly cannot imagine having gone through the experience of losing our girl in any other way and will always be deeply grateful to A Gentle Farewell for their work.

At a time like this it helped being at home. I couldn't recommend them enough. I was able to hold my baby through the whole process.

Wish I could give them 10 stars. They are so compassionate. I will never suffer going for this service to vet clinic again

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE IN THE WINTER! We had been using…read moreMarlene's pet sitting service for years, & were happy with the company .. Until we went on a highly anticipated 2 week cruise / land vacation to Hawaii to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary during the winter of February 2025.. We had a PROFESSIONAL SNOW PLOW SERVICE scheduled to clear our driveway.. Marlene, the business owner called us while we were in port at one of the islands preparing to leave for dinner.. and informed us that our driveway was not clear enough & if the snow wasn't appropriately cleared, she would not have her workers stop by, & our dogs wouldn't be fed!!! I was frantically trying to call our professional snow plowing service in Ohio before our ship left port & we would lose cell service. My niece was staying at our house at night during our trip, & she took pics of our driveway, & the snow was adequately cleared. When we arrived home from our trip, the FRONT DOOR was NOT LOCKED, & there was 40 pieces of UNCOLLECTED MAIL IN OUR MAILBOX. There was also dog vomit on the pillows on our living room couch.. When I let Marlene know of the situation we came home to..she was very rude & unprofessional & accused my 30 year old niece of leaving the door unlocked, & not cleaning up the dog mess in the living room! Then she told me I was exaggerating about the mail. One of Marlene's duties was to collect the mail daily.. Our mail was nearly falling out of the mailbox into the ditch! As far as my niece leaving the dog vomit & the front door unlocked, (which she would never do), our niece left our house at 7:00 am in the morning, & Marlene's "helpers" were the last people at our home before we arrived home later that afternoon after a 20 hour flight home from Hawaii. Marlene caused what should have been a wonderful cruise & vacation to Hawaii to be stressful for my husband & I, as we were concerned our dogs would not be attended to properly.. She was rude & cold & uncaring towards me when I tried to converse with her about the condition our home was in when we returned from our trip. I am writing this review now, a year later, because I want to spare anyone else Marlene's unprofessional & rude treatment. If you plan to use Marlene's service during Spring, Summer, Fall.. it will be fine. DO NOT USE HER SERVICE DURING THE WINTER MONTHS, as she is unreliable in the event of snow..
