The presentation is artsy with special tiered platters and dry ice effects. I tried all of it - big leap for me - and it was all great! It was hot, fresh, and flavorful. And, the pricing is more than fair. All of the staff stopped by to check on us and were all friendly. When we were leaving one of them came over and thanked us for coming in. This is a newer neighborhood sushi place in Round Rock. They're not pretending to be anything they're not. It's not fancy schmancy but the sushi is very fresh, the service is very good, and they have a very large menu. This was our first time and we will be back. I'll point out that their prices (forgot to take a menu pic!) are lower than other sushi places making it something we can do more often which I truly appreciate. They brought our 4 lunch specials out "smoking" with dry ice for effect. The kids thought it was so cool! Places like this need our support to stay open to go try them and spread the word. We decided to take out some sushi last night and wanted to try this place after seeing good things written about it. The website was user friendly and we were able to place our order quickly. When we got there, our hot soup was separated from our sushi (thank goodness!) and everything was neatly packaged up and ready. The decor was pretty and the restaurant was clean. The rolls were delicious too! We got a California, a salmon, the sashimi appetizer, a caterpillar roll, and others, as well as edamame and miso soup. Everything was fresh and delicious! With ramen, sometimes the noodles are crappy, but the broth and toppings can carry it. The noodles were cheap and cooked from packaged dry. The broth was weak, and I ordered the "spicy" version and it had absolutely no heat. There was no chili oil, Sriracha etc to doctor it up at the table. The broth was weak, there was half an egg, 2 slices of nuclear hued fish cake, no nori, or mushrooms but there was canned corn. I do not eat chashu for health reasons and there were no other options for ground pork, tofu or chicken katsu. I would still love to see this great place thrive, but narrowing the menu and preparing a smaller range of options excellently is a better trajectory for such a great location. read more

I don't understand why a restaurant as nice as this one would half-heartedly approach certain aspects of the dining experience. For example, if you order iced tea or soda, it's served in a can, whereas even lower-end restaurants offer freshly made iced tea. The table setting and atmosphere are lovely, with a beautiful waterfall decor that creates a soothing ambiance. The miso soup I ordered was delicious, but it was served with a teaspoon instead of the proper soup spoon you'd expect at a higher-end establishment. The chopsticks provided are made of nice plastic, and the garnishes are exceptionally well done--this is why I say the experience feels half-hearted.
