The egg was outstanding. Ordered some extra broth to go with my leftover ramen. It was that good. The nigiri I ordered was outstanding. Tobiko and Tomago. The Dragon Roll was great and high quality. The server was very attentive and three water refills later she didn't get tired of my water consumption. :) Overall this is a great find. I liked Pei Wei but alas it closed. Located in a very busy shopping center, you would never know that this place has a crowd with its dark windows. We came in and the restaurant was practically almost full. Having worked in the food industry for 6 years, I could tell that what needed improvement was the service. The hostess was also a server and we waited 10 mins before we were greeted. We waited another 10mins before being asked drinks and food order. The food is what will keep my husband and I coming back! The Chicken Katsu plate was very good. The chicken was nicely fried with a superb crunchy outside layer. The sauce was superb and the macaroni salad excellent! We tried the Trio Sashimi which wasn't bad for the price. The fish tasted fresh and the slices were thick chunks of fish. We really enjoyed the Round Rock Roll. It had a nice rice to filling ratio! The Jalapeño Bullet was solid but something we would pass on. We are curious about their ramen options as we have a good selection and we saw quite a few people ordering it. What also bothered me is that they didn't have enough high chairs. They only had 2 and it was all taken when we were seated so we had to hold our daughter while eating one handed the whole time. In the past, I would get food delivered from here using Uber or other platforms, and it was good. I decided to come here in person and eat here one day after going to the Round Rock Outlet. I also decided to order something different than I normally do. I got the spicy miso ramen, and I have to agree with most of the reviews here. The broth lacks flavor compared to the tonkatsu ramen that I usually get. There is a bit of heat for those who usually don't get spicy food. But basically, the broth tasted like chicken broth with spice. So I would not recommend getting that. I would stick to my normal tonkatsu here. Service was okay; it seems like the wait staff is still learning the menu, as they are not all familiar with what is inside certain entrees yet, which is fine for a fairly new restaurant. Currently, the front door isn't open, and they have a vague sign on there to use another door, which usually means us the other door that is there. I wish they meant to say use the other entrance to make it clear and to put a sign on the actual door they want people to use. This ramen was incredibly ordinary. I've been to most of the ramen restaurants in Austin, and I would say this is below average in comparison. But it wasn't bad, and I really like how they offered a low sodium broth option. I was surprised because I didn't see it as an option on the menu. This ramen did not leave me feeling dehydrated, and that is important to me. My friend who I came with also agreed this was a solid 4 stars. The restaurant is large with a good amount of seating. I got the tonkotsu ramen, and my friend got the shoyu ramen. I probably should've just gotten the shoyu ramen, which was the cheaper option. I don't think the specific broth would've made a big difference to me. I like how it comes with a soft boiled egg, which many other restaurants charge extra for. We stopped for our first time today, but it won't be our last. The Silky Pork Broth Ramen is off the charts flavorful! We could have easily split the ramen. Tonight wasn't a great experience and I won't try here again. It took 10 minutes near the front door for a table that I was told would take a minute to get. I was by the door and everyone it opened it was freezing as it's 35 out right now. Didn't bring silverware even after brought the first plates of food. Appetizer came after half the food, but the other half took a very long time to get and was cold and tasted like the shrimp was cooked in old frier oil. Ramen was the best thing we ordered. I felt the texture and taste of Krab. I very much dislike shellfish! Even if you disguise it in "Krab". I had my sister try it. She agreed. Krab/crab isn't mentioned in the ingredients. We mentioned it to Angelique and she brought the manager to the table. I mentioned that there was Krab in the roll and that was not on the menu. The response was "we changed the ingredients, but we haven't updated the menu". I voiced my distaste for crab. The manager said "oh, it's only Krab, it's fine". No, it's not!!!!!! You don't serve a roll with ingredients that aren't mentioned on the menu! The manager comped my sister's wine but not the roll. We will not be going back! Ok I came here cause I was looking for Aloha Hawaii... come to find out that's their virtual restaurant. The atmosphere is nice here... but the music in a Japanese restaurant was all in Chinese. (Weird)... the beef short rib plate was decent. I would've liked for the ribs to be slow cooked so it would be more tender but it wasn't... (so disappointing). The macaroni salad was decent... the rice lukewarm... not good. The ribs were served on a bed of chunky cabbage. It would've been nicer if the cabbage was cut thinner. It comes with bbq (teriyaki) sauce which was alright... I had their hot tea with the meal. My server was attentive... telling me they didn't have ribs with the mixed bbq plate as advertised on the menu. I then ordered the avocado roll to see how their sushi rolls were. Now that was on point! Lots of avocado and rolled to perfection! Yummy!! For desert I got the green tea mochi. That was good also. The place was clean and the ambience relaxing. The place was busy during lunch but the demure waitress ( Sophia I think her name is) was a delight. This was our first visit to Fujiya in Round Rock. We arrived for dinner, no reservations. All staff seemed busy. While there was one staffer at the front, she did not acknowledge any of patrons that came into the establishment - this was surprising to me, especially for an establishment serving Japanese food, not aligned with Japanese culture. As we waited to see if we could be seated, at least four staff members walked through the waiting area. No one looked at any of the customers or greeted them. We stayed the course and waited until someone returned to the podium. We were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. Our server was great. She was friendly and helpful. She checked back more than once during our meal to ensure our drinks were full and see if we needed anything. Our favorite for the night was the Round Rock Roll. We also enjoyed the Japanese Plum wine. We thought the miso ramen was satisfactory. The restaurant and its bathroom facilities were clean and well-maintained. However when you step in, there is a little smell that I assume is the plumbing so I can't fault them for that but something to be aware of. It took a bit to come out and I think what happened is that my order was given to another table... which is fine but I wish they just let me know instead of whisper and pointing.... The food itself is not bad! It's pretty salty and the spicy miso was quite spicy. The beef ramen has meat that is very similar to shaken beef and had a semi Sichuan flavor. I get that this place is new and I hope that they survive because we definitely need more asian places. The ramen here is competitive against the options in north Austin. The broth is rich but not overly salty and the chasu is well made. The ajitama is perfectly seasoned and gooey. This is by far the best experience I have ever had dining in somewhere. The place was full of people and there was only one lady who was the host and serving and we didn't feel like we were waiting for stuff and help at all amazing service. we ordered sushi, ramen, soup, and Rangoon's. They were all so good it genuinely brought me joy to eat it everything was hot and tasted fresh.
