A'Ha fried rice. It was delicious!
    Steven L.

Stumbled upon this gem in Pearl, MS on our way to New Orleans. They are open at 5am and serve everything on their menu from donuts, biscuits, fried rice to one of their delicious burgers all day long. Definitely a spot where everything on the menu will satisfy everyone whether you just want a donut to their signature Aha fried rice. One of my fav items on the menu! Don't just read my review, go ahead and try it for yourself if you are on this side of the town. You won't be disappointed!

Due to an early morning appointment in Pearl, I took the suggestion to try A'HA Donuts for breakfast. At 7:15 this place was packed! Including the drive thru, so I knew I would be pleased with the visit. Ordered the full breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and a biscuit. The food tasted really good and the bacon was the thick cut variety. I wish it had been cooked just a little bit more but it was still good. The food was a little lukewarm but I figured that was because they were so busy at the counter and couldn't bring it out right away. As I was leaving I decided to get a donut just to try them out. That was a really great donut! I've noticed that a lot of the new bakeries popping up have weird tasting Donuts these days but not A'HA. Their donuts are light and airy and not weighted down with vanilla flavoring. One unique thing I noticed in the dining room was the prayer wall. As soon as I saw it, I knew the owners were special. I'm glad I got to stop by. Service at the counter is quick and friendly and I can see why the line was long now.

We were in town for a wedding near Jackson, Mississippi. Looked up this local donut and breakfast shop which was a hidden gem. We ordered the full breakfast that came with 2 eggs, choice of sausage or bacon, biscuit or toast, hash brown or grits and a beverage. My brother had the meat and veggie omelette. Tons of food at a very reasonable price. The full breakfast was 7.99 and the omelette was around the same price. Loved the dining area. The owners had a prayer wall that had post it notes available for customers to write down their requests or place them in a prayer box or on the wall. That was so cool. The decor was very pleasing and nice. The owners were very welcoming and cordial. The customer service was excellent. The donut shop had a steady influx of customers. That is a total blessing. I could tell that the Lord has blessed their business.

Great service and selection. I got the special fried rice which was tasty. Although, I wish there were some veggies added. Can't wait to come back for donuts or breakfast sandwich.

This place is known not only for their donuts, but the "and more" part of their menu. We haven't had a chance to pick up anything here because they close at 1pm daily, and our first meal is usually well after 4pm. We decided to get some carryout for later, but when we walked in, there were actually full dining room seating. I've heard about their wagyu burger and fried rice, but honestly, a wagyu burger, and seafood fried rice at a donut place? Hmm, I won't bet on it, but you betcha I'm gonna still order it Y'all the description sounds like it was a burger and fried rice from heaven, wagyu, candied bacon, gouda... fried rice topped with crab meat, crawfish, shrimp We weren't hungry, but the temptation was too great. We put in our order and took a seat in the dining area, while you wait, check out their cute IG angel wing wall, or put in a prayer request Our food came out within 10 mins! Y'all, that burger, it is not a fast food, carryout burger. Eat this juicy baby there!! Now, you can tell THIS IS a wagyu burger, don't mess with that fake wagyu Arby's is advertising Seasoned perfectly! That candied bacon, I really just wanted a basket and snack on that thing. The fried rice was loaded with a mountain of proteins, it was like a 2/3 ratio Had a little cajun kick, delish! We aren't really saucy people, so we will get the sauce that was on the burger and rice on the side next time, I bet its good with fries. Food was the THIS PART THOUGH, why I will forever be a customer. If you listen to the clip of the food carefully, you might hear a young man in the background. While taking my food pics, a young man walked in (probably early 20's). He wanted to speak to the owner, and usually it's rarely anything good. The owner was gone for the day, so he told the cashier that several weeks ago he had lost his job, he came in to order a burger, he didn't get fries because he was low on money. When he got home, he noticed that the owner had discounted his burger, and gave him fries. That kind gesture made him almost cry, and he was grateful for what the owner had did for him that day, so today he came back as a repeated customer. These are the kind of people I want to support, these are the doors we want to help keep open. Not only are they local, but they are such a bright light to our community, and this world! #eatlocal

I just left with my new regular order: Philly cheesesteak breakfast burrito and a donut. The employee at the window was very polite and greeted me with a "Good morning!" And a big smile! He was so sweet! When he brought me my food -- there was a wait for the burritos to be cooked-- he handed me my food, bowed, and said "thank you for your patience! I hope you have a great day!" I am smitten! I love this place! I'll be coming here for breakfast every morning that I can.

We walked in…read morearound 9am on a Sunday morning and, after confirming they had pork-alternatives on the menu, waited to be seated. The place was not crowded but was doing a decent business and we only waited about a minute before being escorted to our table. The space is slightly cramped, as you have to walk single file down the aisles, especially if there are customers at the tables. Regardless, the decor is nicely done with cool copper looking A/C ductwork exposed among the black painted rafters and beams in the ceiling. I was immediately arrested by the Apple Fritter French Toast, French toast style fritters with fried apples, rum butter sauce, blueberries and powdered sugar! Both the description and the pictures on the menu were mouth-watering! But I was also torn between that and the Bourbon Street Pancakes, three house-recipe cakes topped bananas, pecans, rum butter sauce drizzle and whipped cream. Yeah, I was thinking exactly what you are thinking right now! After much indecision, I opted for the French Toast, with a side of eggs and chicken sausage. My mom ordered the Pumplin Crunch Waffle, a pumpkin infused graham cracker crunch Belgian waffle, spiced pumpkin cheesecake butter, maple pumpkin syrup and powdered sugar. I also opted to try one of their Cranberry Pomegranate Fizz Mocktail, which was iced tea, cranberry and pomegranate syrups, lime and ginger beer, with rosemary and orange peel! We were taking no calories prisoner today! After a short wait, my mocktail was brought out. It was just okay. First, the glass was completely full of ice so there was barely any drink. The syrups were a little too sweet and the ginger beer was not very prominent. As I was tasting it, our server came back to inform me that they were out of apples for my French Toast. Maybe its just me, but 9am seems kind of early to be running out of ingredients for your featured dish at a breakfast/brunch restaurant... Anyway, that dilemna settled, I reverted to my other choice and got the Bourbon Pancakes. I also asked the server to remake my mocktail with less ice, which he obliged very quickly. Our food arrived shortly thereafter and the pancakes were really good! Just the right amount of flavor and syrup. My mom's belgian waffle was also pretty good, although she wished it had been larger. The eggs and sausage were decent, but not especially memorable. Overall, it was a really enjoyable first meal back in Jackson. I would not hesitate to come again!

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.

I was so excited to come here because this is a duo restaurant + bake shop, serving Southern favorites. Upon entrance, I was greeted by the staff members in such a warm, hospitable manner. I ordered the following: * Hamburger Steak Entree (angus hamburger meat, mushrooms, onions & gravy): Selected the two sides - Mac & Cheese and Turnip Greens. Also came with a green salad (added boiled eggs) and a bread roll. A soft drink was even included with the entree. * Bowl of Seafood Gumbo All of the food was beyond palatable. Everything was super flavorful, and I enjoyed it all from the start to the finish. I was especially quite impressed with the taste of Turnip Greens and Seafood Gumbo (top favorites). The portion of the meal was generous and filling. I was feeling full and satisfied after consumption. I wasn't able to try any of the desserts. To start, the menus were absolutely filthy. They had food residue and greasy fingerprints all over them, and were torn and ripped in places. I was shocked that they do not at least have their menus laminated for this very reason. Everyone at our table noticed this and commented on it. This is a horrible first impression when you sit down at a restaurant, and needs to be corrected ASAP! I used to always love coming to Jo's diner over 10 years ago. I would usually get breakfast, and it was great. I decided to get something different today, and I think I just ordered the wrong thing. I ordered a house salad with fried chicken on top. They used to have this on the menu years ago, but I didn't see it; however, our server said she could have them make it for me. What I got was a small side salad ($5) with barely any chicken on it. The salad was in a little bowl, and had ONE chicken tender on top! I was even more surprised when I got my bill and noticed that I was charged $8 for said chicken tender. So for $13, you would expect to at least leave not hungry. I would've been better off just ordering a chicken tender platter and subbing the fries for a side salad or something. Lesson learned, I guess. Our server, Scarlett, was very attentive and really sweet, so that was a good thing! I love the vintage diner feel of this restaurant, and it brings back a lot of nostalgia of visiting "Brent's" in Jackson with my mom as a child. The next time I eat here, I will either get a daily blue plate or go back to getting breakfast. I just don't think salads are their specialty. I will come back and update my review if I do go back and it is better. (*Management: PLEASE get rid of the 3.5% fee for using a card as payment! I purposely avoid restaurants that do this to their customers. I used to work for a credit card processing company, and know that it is against card brand regulations to surcharge debit cards, which it clearly states on the bottom of your receipt that you do. This is a good way to get a hefty fine from the credit card companies. All it takes is one phone call from a disgruntled customer.)
