Dr. Jessica Cioffi went above and beyond to make the experience as comforting as possible. Her empathy, professionalism, and ability to guide me through such a difficult time quickly earned my trust. Because of her, I now bring my new dog to Bulger, and I couldn't be happier with that decision. The level of service here is truly outstanding. Dr. Flynn was also incredible--thorough, thoughtful, and clear with her suggestions, which gave me confidence in the care plan moving forward. Bulger has proven to be a place where both pets and owners are treated with the utmost respect and compassion. I will continue to bring my pets here and highly recommend them to anyone seeking exceptional veterinary care.

UNETHICAL REFUSAL TO HELP…read more I called their ER last night to confirm they were open. I found a wounded rabbit in my yard wanted to bring in, because in all likelihood it needed to be euthanized. When I lived in North Andover I would occasionally do this with wounded animals. They were always gracious. NOT ANYMORE! They refused to take the animal. How unethical. Their refusal basically said we don't care if the animal is suffering, or that you want to help the animal and are asking for help from veterinary professionals (?), but take it somewhere else. I am a physician and my sister is a veterinary surgeon. We have a profound respect for living beings and SHOULD NOT EVER REFUSE TO HELP A WOUNDED ANIMAL IN PAIN. How can you call yourselves a "veterinary emergency room" when you turn away animals?? Let me guess, the economics of it were not favorable. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

I asked this vet if there was anything I could do and the answer was a flat no. Completely devastated, I took him to an internal medicine specialist in Boston upon the advice of friends and thousands of dollars later I was told he was misdiagnosed and simply had a virus. One year and many tests later, he is completely fine. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way this vet treated my case was completely unprofessional for someone in the medical field. There was no acknowledgement of possible error and the staff had a terrible bedside manner. I spoke to multiple veterinarians about this case and the consensus was that they jumped the gun on the diagnosis and should have been more careful. I waited a year to leave this review because I didn't want to write an emotionally charged response but even after all this time I am upset by the situation. I wish I had never taken my dog here. I love my dog with all my heart and the staff here seemed like they didn't care. North Reading vet - please be more careful and caring.

I have been bringing my dogs to this veterinary clinic for over five years and have spent thousands…read moreof dollars annually on their care. Because of that long-standing relationship, I was very disappointed with my most recent experience. I had purchased a package plan for $175 that included a fecal test for my dogs. Unfortunately, I brought in the fecal sample one day later than expected. Despite the plan already being paid for, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $90 to complete the test. After years of being a loyal client and consistently trusting this clinic with my pets' care, this response was very discouraging. The issue is less about the amount of money and more about the principle of how a long-term customer was treated over a $90 charge. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to reconsider continuing my relationship with this clinic, and based on this situation, I cannot recommend this veterinary practice.

Luis and…read moreMary are awesome people, kind, caring, compassionate and know all things doggie legs, etc. My little Yorkie Beanie, my first dog and the love of my life, has luxating patella in both legs and my vet referred her for water therapy to help strengthen her little legs. My pet insurance will only reimburse for this kind of therapy if a vet does the treatment, which is totally ridiculous. There was another water therapy place that I could have chosen where it was under a vet, but I chose Good Dog (and pay out of pocket) because of the proximity to where I live, but mostly because of my initial conversation with Mary. She is SO calm and just, wonderful. Beanie has been swimming for over a year and she also gets cold laser treatments on her knees and does targeted physical therapy exercises. Her legs are so much stronger when she has her regular therapy at Good Dog and I am confident that she will continue to do really well. Beanie recently had an incident where her knee popped out, had to take her to the vet to get it back in and was told that surgery would be the best option. Beanie is 9, a totalyl crazy Yorkie and luxating patella surgery is NOT an option for this dog. Of course, I called Mary freaking out and Luis called me back and immediately calmed me down and said bring her to her apt. and he would figure out the best course of action for her, which he did and she is almost back to where she was before her incident with her leg. Since Covid, I can't go in with Beanie, but Mary takes pictures and videos of her and sends them to me, which of course, I send to all my friends and family, whether they want to see them or not! Beanie actually does better without me around. LOL. I do miss being able to chat with Luis and Mary while Beanie does her "thing" and I am hoping that 2021 will bring a resumption to normalcy at some point!! Anyone thinking of water therapy for their dog, do not hesitate to go to Good Dog Aquatics!!!

Immediately she started having diarrhea but I didn't connect the two. Then she started having seizures and the second one she stopped breathing in my arms. After I got back from the emergency Vet, I started to do research. When I called them to find out the name of the medication I also found out they gave her TWICE the amount for her weight! My dog is 76 pounds and they gave her a dose for a 100lb dog. This is clearly medical malpractice to gave prescribed a dangerous drug and also too much of it! Upon becoming new patients I was very impressed with the compassion and great care they provided to me and my pets. When my dog suffered a stroke and had to be put down, Dr Johnson was so kind and comforting. Fast forward to 2018, where the facility is now caring for my aging cat, who they diagnosed with Bladder stones. The price for the surgery was off the charts and I couldn't afford such a thing. The alternative was taht They put her on a special diet to dissolve the stones., and then when I tried to order food, they failed to do so. Upon calling multiple times to obtain food or a prescription where I could get it elsewhere I was told that they could not give me a prescription and they could not help me and that they no longer wanted to treat my cat. I asked them to please send me a prescription as my cat now would need to return to food that caused the stones as I had to be able to feed her something. I then received and email that They no longer wanted to treat my cat and were sending me a prescription and my records. This was so shocking to me that an actual VET that was so caring before would turn into not so much of the care of the animal but now turned into a money hungry uncaring person. My opinion is things changed when I couldn't dole out the money for surgery and wanted to try an alternative plan. When the alternative plan was to buy my food closer to home they felt they would no longer benefit from me being a customer. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Customer service and patient Care!!!!
