They truly treat every pet like they're part of their own family. Every time I bring my dog or my cat, I know they're going to receive the very best care. They're both very anxious animals, but everyone goes above and beyond to make them feel as comfortable and safe as possible. It makes such a difference knowing they're in such patient, understanding hands. A special thank you to Dr. Connolly. She truly loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction. She treats both of my animals with so much kindness, patience, and genuine love. She always takes the time to answer my questions, explain everything thoroughly, and make sure I feel confident in their care. As a pet owner, it's not easy to trust someone with the animals you love most, but Dr. Connolly is at the very top of that list. I have complete confidence that my pets are receiving the highest quality care every time we visit. I wholeheartedly recommend Lexington Bedford Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a veterinary team that combines exceptional medical care with genuine compassion.

I love that she gave me a hug when I finally put my little girl down. I had 2 dogs over 35 years, and they were both patients of Lexington Veterinary Associates. I miss that really hunky-looking vet, Dr. Reed, but everyone there is great. The gentleman who works the front desk/answers the phone is perfection. Very professional, but plenty of sincerity and warmth. I couldn't ask for more from a vet. Unfortunately, I live in NH now with a new dog. Praying I get someone half as good.

I appreciate that she respects my wishes as a dog owner, as the person who knows my dog best, but also teaches me what I need to know as I haven't had a senior dog before. My dog has had a number of health issues over the years, and this vet and all their experts have been so helpful. My dog has had some surgical procedures here too, and everything has gone really well. Highly recommend.

We reached out to Betsy and planned for her to come the afternoon the next day; immediately, on the phone, I was soothed by her calm, compassionate manner and knew Panini would be in good hands. The night before, the ER vet let us know Panini was declining faster; we went over to BluePearl in Waltham (which I also recommend) and texted Betsy if she could come in at her earliest. She responded promptly and said she could. With sick pets operating on a very fluid schedule, we really appreciated her accommodating us. I thank Betsy for walking us through the procedure and explaining the steps. She had an incredible bedside manner and gave us time to grieve. I'm not sure how she does it but I'm so glad and grateful for how kindly she treated both us and Panini during this time. In December, the shelter's president, Taline, proactively reached out to ask if we could foster a cat again. At first, due to an uncertain schedule, we replied that we couldn't commit yet. About a week later, once our environment was confirmed suitable, we immediately contacted Taline with our availability, preferred cat types, and other preferences. Taline responded promptly, promising to review the list of cats needing help that week and get back to us. Over ten days passed with no response, despite our reminders. Assuming she was busy, we reached out via The Cat Connection's Slack channel under another volunteer applicant's name at the beginning of this week. Taline replied the next day, again promising to schedule a discussion this week. This week almost passed, and despite private messages and follow-ups, she ghosted us again. Six days ago, we posted a follow-up in the channel regarding fostering. Only then did Taline reply, claiming, "This channel is for announcements and statements to all members." This explanation contradicts prior posts by others requesting volunteer or other opportunities. When we asked again about scheduling a discussion, she ghosted once more. It became clear that she was not too busy to respond - she simply chose to ignore us. I guess she thought volunteers in her opinion were just someone to grab when she needed them. We want to stress that as the shelter's president, Taline's commitments carry weight. Repeatedly making promises and disappearing is disrespectful and unprofessional. Others' time and effort are valuable, and communication - whether to express concerns or provide simple updates - is essential. We hope that in her role, Taline can honor her commitments and respect the time and dedication of volunteers, rather than repeatedly making promises she has no intention of keeping.

So you can imagine over the years... we have spent thousands at this place for her daycare, puppy training class, occasional grooming, and most recently also boarded her for our recent trip for a few days when we had no family/friends available. SCREENING - standard vaccines aside (rabies, kennel cough, distemper, etc) they also requires the Canine Influenza. Even with the kennel cough vax, Juneau managed to catch it 2x when she first started (of course always during the most inconvenient times). Most likely because during her puppyhood, she attended daycare 3-4x/week! Now that she's an adult she goes about 1x/week. They called me urgently to get her but I was in meetings all day. Since I lived nearby they actually dropped her off to stop the spread. There is always risk when exposing your dog to an environment with other dogs. Several instances when Juneau returned, she had goopy eyes so who knows what she got herself into. I'm not sure if they give dogs in the same group treats for "Birthday Parties", since she's come home with diarrhea a couple of times too. LOGISTICS - They are regimented and organized. Before booking, I'd recommend looking through their website thoroughly for costs/procedures. They've itemized a list of things that could incur extra fees (i.e. midday feeding). I've seen inside only when we took puppy classes with K9East, but they have a large facility for indoor/outdoor space. Every other month they seem to send an email update with a growing list of housekeeping reminders about how to drop off/pick up the dog. They seem to have different prices and minimums depending on the time of the year for boarding plus lots of add-ons that may interest you. COST - They market themselves as "luxury" so definitely not the most frugal option. They are reliable, provide good quality care and are the closest distance wise for us. You can prepay bulk packages to get 14% off 20, or 10% off 10 to save. They raised the price from $38 to $42/day since we joined at the beginning of 2022, which isn't too bad. However, the cost of overnight boarding increased drastically from $60 to $90/night for dogs 13+ lbs! This already feels like a mid-range hotel minus the taxes. I imagine if you have a large dog you'd need to shell out for the $105+/night options. Overnight boarding includes 1 day of daycare at full price $42, so if you just book 1 night it will be a minimum of ~$130. DAYCARE - they evaluate the dogs to determine what group(s) to place them in and whether they will be a good fit. When our Barkbuster's trainer called them up apparently Juneau is often very excited and needs to be walked around the premises before being allowed to enter the playgroup. For safety they remove all collars put them back on once you pick up the pup. It's a nice feature that the GingrApp website allows them to intake client info and make reservations. They also will attach a "Report Card" with 3-6 photos (rare occasion video) and 3 descriptors for their demeanor during the day. It is disappointing when 20~30% of the photos are super blurry. I know it's hard to photograph active dogs indoors on the go! They must be super organized to be able to identify lookalikes! BOARDING - you need to individually bag each portion of your dog's meal so the staff can easily feed the dogs or a fee of $5/day bulk food will be applied. Aside from the food packing and private 4'x6' suite, there isn't a discernable difference between what happens at daycare and boarding from the report card. They lump all the pics into one and there aren't different comments for the days that get pulled in. I imagine just the last daycare demeanor gets attached. I do wonder what is the calming music they play :) for the pups. GROOMING - Juneau's received a few baths due to our own laziness. I imagine they need to use a neutral scented shampoo. I didn't love the faint scent nor feel that value outweighed doing it ourselves. One of the times they did send her home with an adorable Christmas colored bandana! EXTRA - You can spoil your dog and add a "Birthday Party" package. I missed attaching it in 2021 due to some communication confusion. 2022, I added and it looks like she probably had fun! The staff took 20 additional photos inside, but sadly they were mostly blurry :( so won't be rebuying. I always look forward to the last week in October when they have the Howl-o-Ween festivities. The first year Juneau took part she got a fun chew toy prize so not sure if she didn't stand out in 2021. Overall a great place to trust your dog with a caring team!
