We paid a fortune to have sod put down in our backyard a few years ago but struggled to keep it watered and eventually it turned brown. We hired this firm to set up sprinklers for our shrubs. The price was fair, but the original work was sloppy. When the company came to turn on the system the following spring, they fixed the poor original work at no extra charge. I also found that the rain detector was badly installed. I called them, and Brian came. He not only fixed the sensor, but also did a careful job of ensuring the wiring was correctly and attractively set up. So I am well satisfied with the company at this point. So the original installation was poor, but the corrections were well done. read more

I've been a loyal costumer for a long time and referred them to friends and family, seems like since Jerry has retired the service has retired also. I have them come out here every year for the past 7 years at the beginning of the season for leaks in the line pretty much in the same area and they keep attributing to defective lines but they work fine during the summer but only crack in the winter after THEY winterize the system is it possible they do a lack luster job blowing out the lines and that's where the water backs up every time and freezes causing the line to crack even though the cracked line was line that was repaired and replaced by them the prior year....... So again this year cracks in the lines in the same areas and their tech cuts the wiring that work the valves while he was cutting the cracked line even though he spliced the wires together for the system which now has error message on the controller and a hole in the ground where he cut the wires and fixed the leak due to he didn't have the right parts to finish the job but assured the system would work and stated that I would need a new controller because most likely a solenoid went bad not caused from him cutting the wires in the water, coincidence hmmmm!!!!! I called them to complain that the system didn't work and explained again what had happed and ended to talking to the now owner Jesse Napolitano and pretty much made up so many lame excuses and I couldn't get a word in and stated if I wasn't happy with their service we should go separate ways, not offering to fix the problem like a professional he kept verbally attacking me. The end result is my sprinklers don't work, a hole in the ground with exposed wires and most likely I will need a new control box. I'm sure I will be attacked just like all the other bad reviews that were written about them instead of offering a compromise or solution... Be aware read more

We had a great experience with A-J Lawn Sprinkler Co. They arrived at our house Monday and had the project completed by Tuesday. We received ten sprinkler heads- so it was a slightly bigger job. The sprinklers seem to be top quality and really seem to spray far with a good amount of strength. We will not get to use them much this year- as it is November- but we fully plan on using them all next season and are SO excited to not have to move sprinklers around the yard every ten minutes. I pulled a botched electric wiring ( see picture ) from behind the insulation in the basement for the new sprinkler system which placed by A-J Lawn Sprinkler Co. Company replied , you should have read the contract more carefully, this what you get for asking for budget system, this is old wiring from the 20 year old system, nothing for free, and it is low voltage wire, should be fine. Negotiating price is not asking for free work, not equal to cutting corners or botching the electric work. If this a safe low voltage wiring, then do it in your own house not in other people house who trusted you with your houses. It is brand new wiring placed by your staff. A J Lawn Sprinkler did a wonderful job this past few weeks of 1) starting up the sprinklers after having winterized them last year, 2) diagnosing and quickly replacing the leaking sprinkler heads, and 3) adding a new extension for our front decorative gardens. Sean did all the work and really impressed me with his knowledge, work ethic, and friendly manner. Meh. $68 service charge for any visit is the main reason for the Meh. They came out, charged us $68 to tell me what I already knew. Then the came out to replace the control box on our in-ground system. Did an OK job but they missed things you would think a professional would know how to do, like installing everything THEN realizing we didn't have enough water pressure to run the system. Shouldn't you check that in advance?? When they were there to install the new box since they didn't check the water pressure before they installed it all they couldn't run the system to check the heads to see if they worked. The guy on the service call ensured us that they would come back out and complete this work but when we called back to inform them the water pressure issue had been sorted out, they told us the $68 fee would apply again. I'll go elsewhere for my system services going forward. read more

A-J came to do the Spring opening yesterday. Brian the technician arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He made sure that the sprinkler heads were operating properly and adjusted the sprinklers where necessary. He made a fix in just minutes where I accidentally buried a sprinkler head while trying to level my lawn. I recommend A-J and Brian very highly. read more

Don't choose these people for your irrigation needs. They want to charge almost twice as much as others. When I talked to the owner, he said, "if you got a better quote from another place, you should go with them." What a way to lose customers. DO NOT use these people. They are a nightmare I had a terrible experience with the owner in a phone call re servicing my sprinklers and I told him that I no longer wanted them to do my service. At the end of the season they sent someone to turn off my sprinklers did not get access to my house and did it from the outside. I had already hired another company to do it. They have continued to bill me even though I called and said I did not want the service. I am to put it mildly FURIOUS. A neighbor of mine had a similar experience! read more

This spring upon opening my sprinkler system I had 3 cracked and leaking sprinkler heads, one of which was washing out my paver sidewalk. I called A-J to have them repair the heads and to discuss WHY this happened. I asked that a service person come to my home to take care of the problem. They sent me an email refusing to repair anything unless I paid for the repairs. Would not discuss WHY the breakage occurred. Never to be heard from them again until I received a bill for service. This is how they treat a customer who employed their services for 10 years. Shame on you. read more

We called themto repair a system they had installed. They charged $500 and assured me that all was working properly. Called them later in the season, was charged $110, and was again told the system was fine. Found that the the zone was leaking into our basement, and we have a ruined section of the basement. They are denying that their error caused it, but did close up for the fall without charge(!!) VERY UNHAPPY with their service. read more
