I requested and received a quote 2 years ago for some maintenance work that needed to be done on the system. It has been virtually impossible to get them to come and do the work. They schedule appointments, don't show up, re-schedule and don't show up all without even a phone call or message of any sort. I just killed 2 days waiting for them. They were supposed to be here at 7:30 this AM. We got up, moved everything out of the way to make it easy for them only to find out after waiting an hour and then calling them, that they weren't coming again!!! This used to be a good company. After several years contemplating a home irrigation system, I finally pulled the trigger. I sourced 3 quotes from local businesses whose prices differed by $1,000. Rainbow Sprinkler & Drainage was a last minute referral and was priced in the middle of the pack. I reached out and spoke w/ Mary who immediately scheduled an appointment with their estimator, Larry, for later that week. In total, 11 zones , including 2 drip zones, were needed to cover everything. (If you have hanging baskets or planter boxes, consider getting drips!) A few rain delays postponed the installation, but I was in no hurry and was flexible with the scheduling. Jeremy was the foreman on the project and orchestrated the install while working side by side with Martin and the others. Their work was neat, organized, and minimally invasive, and took two days to complete. Jeremy was thorough with his instructions on the setup and operating functions of the Rainbird wireless system.... It runs off of WiFi. Kudos to Dan (owner) for stopping by to introduce himself and make certain the job was on track. These guys are hard working, detailed professionals. We had a sprinkler system put in by rainbow 5 years ago. They were wonderful. Helped us place the heads to get the most coverage for the least amount of money. When I said that my husband would be "blowing out the lines" ourselves after our initial free service, the technicians went out of their way to explain and show him exactly what they were doing. I recently had a broken sprinkler head and got it replaced and reset in the lawn. It didn't sit right and after a month I called to have it reset again. I was initially charged for a second service call. I wrote them a very nice e mail explaining why I felt I should not pay for a second call and they just marked my 2nd. invoice paid in full with no problem. They have always come in a timely manner and their technicians are very personable. We have been very pleased with Rainbow. read more

Called for an appointment to have several sprinkler heads replaced. The technician noticed there was a problem with our pump and said his manager would call us to set up another appointment. Waited a week, no call. We called them back and set up a morning appointment. By noon time no one showed up. Called Rainbow and they said our appointment wasn't in their book. They said someone would come around 2:30 pm. No one showed so we called them back. They said the technician didn't come to work. Asked why didn't they call us, no response. Took the day off from work for this appointment. We will NEVER use Rainbow and won't recommend them to anyone. read more

Did not have a good experience with this company. Called first time explaining I was pretty certain we had a pipe break...they sent technician who "didn't have the time or tools to fix it this time" have to reschedule to repair broken valve. Second visit valve was fixed but now other zones not working...problem with wiring. Again, no time or materials to fix. Third visit, wiring repaired but one zone still not working. Didn't have time or equipment to repair...told my young adult sons we could "put our ear to the ground and hear where problem was...roots of tree pressing on pipe...[we] could dig up ground at that spot and chip away at root to release the pressure." When I called to complain I was told a supervisor would call, instead I got a call from the technician himself "explaining" he was just trying to save me money because if he had to come back (A FOURTH TIME) it would require equipment and a crew, blah blah blah. Seriously? But we can just put our ear to the ground, dig, and chip away at the root????? We called numerous times to speak with supervisor or owner. No one would call us back. Finally my husband got the supervisor and began complaining - midcomplaint without warning he's put on speaker with the owner who starts giving him lip. NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT USE THEM! read more
