10 dollar ATM fee rofl. For a Gogo lounge they should not be trying to rip off their patrons who want to pay the dancers.

Since we were big fans of those alcohols, we decided to check it out. The walls of the space were covered in colorful murals with Latin American imagery. There were banquettes along either wall with small tables and ottomans scattered in front of them, providing separate, little areas for each group. Large playing cards were fanned across each table with Jack, Queen, King, and Ace cards each having a menu on its backside. There were bar bites, a spirits list, classic cocktails that could be reimaged with your agave spirit of choice (picture a tequila mojito), and even a custom beverages. The creative drinks were not cheap, coming in at around $20 on average, but they certainly were complex! My La Balacara featured Casamigos Mezcal, spiced pear, Luxardo, orange, ginger, chestnut honey, and a chili tincture. I thought the drink sounded outrageous, but, sadly, all I tasted was that honey, the ingredient of which I was least interested. In fact, the smokiness of the mezcal really did not play well with the chestnut honey, leaving it to taste sort of like licorice. I was not a fan. My companion's El Encanto included Casamigos Cristalino, Lillet Blanc, strawberry-lemongrass cordial, guava, and basil, which sounded herbaceous, but really just tasted like a fancy daiquiri. He enjoyed it, but I found it unimpressive. Our drinks were accompanied by a complementary bowl of spiced popcorn, which was delicious. We had come from an earlier dinner, so the snack was as much as I needed. However, the few larger food items that I saw others order all looked great. While I would go back to Perico to try some other items, I felt like I had had better, more affordable cocktails upstairs at Panela.

There are multiple stairs leading to the speakeasy downstairs. There are accessible bathrooms down there but even just having opened - the bathrooms were not that clean. They smelled and had garbage on the floor. All staff were attentive and helpful and provided drink recommendations. The drinks err on the side of Tiki drinks mostly but there's some interesting whiskey and bourbon drinks too. We had some small apps to eat and all were good! And the portions were plentiful. We had fries and the hushpuppies. Loved the sauces that came with each. The space was not crowded for a while but started to pick up around 7:30 or so. I feel like a reservation may not be needed here. The upstairs restaurant was also so empty when we left! Not sure why as it looked nice. The noise level at 143 was not bad either even when crowds started to show up. Overall a nice option for drinks and apps in JC!

Food: Before we even ordered, the table next to us made sure to tell us the food tasted of expired oil. We ordered the Island Dip and were served a bowl of soupy beans with only 4 plantain chips to share. The beans indeed tasted like old oil and the plantains quickly ran out leaving us with nothing to eat the dip with. The vibe was lacking as a whole as the waiter was clearly stretched thin. I can only imagine the stress!

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

I mean, I've had bad pina coladas at dive bars, but I expected more from this place. I would say it was very strong, though, so you know what? That's a good thing to be very strong for that price I'm paying. The spam musubi was also a rip-off. You see two here, but each one costs its own $10, so save your money. Eat somewhere else. The bi-level bar and lounge was dark, swanky, and seductive. It would make an excellent spot for dates or groups of friends, like mine. We started off sitting at the bar, as there were no large tables available upon our arrival. However, after about 15 minutes, the host approached to tell us that he could actually seat us. I picked up my glass, which was wet with condensation, and it slipped out of my hands. I was able to collect it with only a minor spill, but the host insisted that the bar staff make me a new cocktail in case the glass had chipped at all. It was a considerate gesture that I greatly appreciated. Plus, since I had already taken a few sips, I was thrilled to get those back in a new glass! In terms of my cocktail of choice, I had opted for the Hot Tijuana Tease, a fiery blend of mezcal, blanco tequila, chile poblano liqueur, and lime juice. So, it was essentially a spicy margarita, and it was excellent. There were clean, crisp notes of peppery heat balanced with layers of robust smoke. My only complaint about the lounge was that the bathrooms were beyond tiny. There were two unisex stalls in a very tight alcove that also included a cramped sink counter. It was awkward and uncomfortable to share that space with another patron. Aside from that, the Hide Rooftop was a beautiful place with a friendly staff and interesting drinks.

I am actually shocked this place was not fully booked because the food here was fantastic for a buffet styled brunch that came at a great price! They had a huge selection of food and I thought the penne alla vodka was one of the best I have had in a very long time. My dad went nuts over the clams because they actually had clams inside them and not just all breading. You did need to pay for your cocktails but I feel like that made the service here even better because at other brunch spots with unlimited mimosa bars they tend to try and dodge tables when all you are looking for is another drink- I personally rather pay for it then constantly trying to waive someone down. They also had two rooms, a bigger and smaller room which is great for people who want to have graduation, a sweet 16 or even a wedding or birthday here.
