First off, the Cuban sandwich here is, in my opinion, the best sandwich in Taos, and this is from someone who lives here and has eaten everywhere...perfect bread, huge amount of moist, tender pulled pork and an awesome sauce. Other favorites for me are the blackened catfish sandwich and the chicken tarragon, either as a salad or a sandwich. Super nice people. My dog Ruby loves it because they give her treats in the drive through. Be aware...they don't take credit cards. There is a bank next door with a drive thru ATM. read more

This is my go-to restaurant for a quick breakfast or lunch. It's just north of Cid's Food Market. The owner Louise and her staff are friendly, the food is tasty, and the prices are quite good. I also like that they make cappuccinos. I can't eat gluten and I'm pescatarian (vegetarian + fish), but there are options for my dietary restrictions. For breakfast the (1) Veggie & Spuds is both vegetarian and gluten-free (GF) as well as the (2) Egg Sandi with avocado, and I regularly get both of those. Other GF/vegetarian options are the Omelette of the Day and the Migas as well as other items. A friend of mine regularly gets the French Toast with walnuts and pears since he likes it so much. For lunch I love the shrimp tacos! The shrimp are grilled and on corn tortillas and has avocado, so it's GF and pescatarian. I really hope they make this a year round option (hint hint!) instead of a special menu item. When they have them in the colder season, their Thai rice noodle bowls are quite tasty (GF as well as vegetarian if veggies are selected). The Grilled Pear Salad is very good & ordering it without bacon makes it vegetarian. The yummy Curried Tuna with Apple Chutney & Cheddar can be made organic salad greens vs a sandwich so that it is GF. Every day there are special menu items at the restaurant, so that adds variety to their standard menu. There is a drive up window for ordering (a fantastic way to order and get one's meal during the covid pandemic), and patio table dining is available, as well as some indoor table dining (when allowed; covid shut indoor dining down). One can order ahead by phone and pay/pick up at the drive up window. read more

I visit Taos once or twice a year and A La Cart is a can't miss spot for breakfast! I got the breakfast Sandi on Tuesday morning and when I say it was hands down the best breakfast sandwich I have had in my whole life it is not an exaggeration. I took it to go but called them after I ate to let them know. Delicious food, great staff and a very cool little place to sit (or drive thru)! This is ABSOLUTELY the best breakfast spot in Taos! Located right next to Cid's this super cute food truck-type restaurant has a scenic outdoor covered patio. We ordered egg samis and the French toast with grilled pears and walnuts. I wanted to take a picture of the French toast but my son inhaled it so fast. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We will be coming back as much as possible! read more

Exquisite!! We had watermelon gazpacho and the Thai beef salad. Both spicy to our specifications...just Right! The soup was cold and refreshing and the salad had myriad spices that worked perfectly together. The beef was tender, juicy, the vegetables and lettuces fresh, crisp and at the peak of flavor. The people behind the counter are delightful, friendly, and helpful. This was an amazingly wonderful and surprising find. Will probably be back tomorrow. read more

I've eaten here 4 times now and each meal has been exceptional. It's definitely the best BBQ I've had yet in Taos and it is fantastic for breakfast/brunch as well as folks have already said here. It's tiny but I'd call this more than a food stand: You can sit down and eat inside or out. Everything tastes fresh too, farm to table style. read more

Ecstasy. That was my pear salad experience. Grilled pears on a bed of greens with blue cheese, walnuts and bacon with balsamic dressing. We also had a turkey Reuben which was amazing. Best breakfast we've had in Taos! You must try the GOAT. The combination of warm scrambled eggs with peas and goat cheese make each bite a creamy delight. Finish it off with a cakey donut which they slice in 1/2, place on grill and sprinkle with sugar spice. The girls doing the cooking couldn't be any nicer. Great ambiance! I eat here a lot but. I'm addicted to their roasted pork. The Cuban sandwich, BBQ pork sandwich and pork tacos are all very excellent! All of the lady's that work here are always warm and wonderful! The price of most food items is the same price or cheaper than fast food. read more

If you have not had their breakfast sandi you have not lived. Makes a breakfast burrito look poor in comparison. I always get mine with bacon and avocado. The bread is wonderful. Only drawback is they're not open on weekends. They cater to the working crowd. Just go there and order a breakfast sandi. read more

Made a quick mid-errand stop here. We split an Ethiopian lentil curry (we took our hot) that was excellent. Service was pretty fast for this part of the world, and the short wait was enjoyable as we got to watch the food other folks had ordered. Will definitely be back. A small menu, but everything seemed fresh, local and tasty, as well as ethnic and interesting. It may make it to 5 stars upon future stops! read more
