Dawson does not disappoint in atmosphere, decor, or delivery of transformative beauty services. I was started off with a super informative consultation where I had the privilege of meeting both these beautiful and talented women, which I followed up with a micro blading session, then most recently, a haircut. Henley is an artist and a pro and has done a fabulous job with my brows, and my heart, holding my hand through the transition times of the brow technique, and priming me for future aesthetic self improvements. Leigh then gave me quite possibly the best haircut I have ever had. My self esteem was catapulted into another dimension by the Goldie Hawn/bad girl style I walked out of there with. After researching different places, this seemed like the best bet for what I was looking for and it had the best reviews for this type service. I wanted a lash lift before a trip I was going to and was hoping to I could get it sooner than later since it was only a week away. I sent an e-mail on a Thursday night and I had a response by that next morning. The eyelash specialist, Haley, was able to answer my e-mail right away and fit me in for a lash lift and tint that coming Saturday morning. I have issues with skin sensitivity so I asked many questions beforehand about the procedure, the type of products used, etc. etc. Haley was able to answer all questions and concerns I had over e-mail before I went to the actual boutique. Blink Atelier is located in a cute area, Broadway, and the street it is on was very welcoming. Also, there are a lot of different shops and food around the area which is good for before or after your appointment! I had to wait a little bit as there was a patient before me, but once she was done, I was attended to right away. Haley went through the products she uses and addressed my concerns with my skin sensitivity. Once I was at eased, we dived right in! Since I have never done anything like this before, I didn't know what to expect, besides what I saw on online videos. These padded adhesives are placed on your eyelids and right below your lower lashline to protect your skin from the product used to give your lashes a lift. It was awkward at first because you don't want to open your eyes, but once you get used to it, it is actually quite comfortable as you are laying there. The whole curling/lifting process took around 40 mins after that, she tinted my lashes a dark blue (but I really couldn't see that big of a difference unless light was shining on my face). The whole process took about an hour and the results were great! My lashes were nice, perky, and curled and it was crazy how I didn't have to use an eyelash curler anymore. I noticed that if any of the lashes went askew, all you had to do was re-wet your face/eyes and the curl would be back to normal (like a regular hair perm when you want it curly again). It's been 2 months since I've had the lift and within the past couple of weeks is when I noticed the curl starting to go away, mainly because of eyelash growth. This service is definitely more of a treat and not a necessity since it is on the pricier side, but if you have a special occasion, or a trip where you don't want to bother with mascara or eyelash curler, I would recommend this! Overall, I am very pleased and will most likely be booking another appointment come summer time!

But the idea of (semi)permanently changing your face was something I daydreamed for several years before finally making the plunge. When I found Lindsey via her instagram account, it was a no brainer. Her skill, quality of work, and taste is extremely clear. So I decided it was finally the time and booked an appointment - after weeks of waiting to finally get a slot in one of her coveted bimonthly booking sessions. Again, though it felt a bit like booking a Coachella ticket, I luckily got an appointment on my first round of attempts. The fact that she can pull off this way of scheduling is legit #goals. The day of the appointment was also fabulous. Her spot is clean, fresh and lovely. The appointment started with a consult for the process of microblading - reviewing the styles of "blading," how the treatment would go, healing process, etc. We then drew on shape before she started the official process. My first year session + touch up with Jenna was great. One year touch up not so great. She mapped out my brows and i told her that they appear too thick I don't want them that thick or wide. Ofcourse she ignored me. My one year touch up came with painful healing, scabbing, and sharpie looking brows. 4 years later - the pigment was spreading, saturating, and turning gray due to my darker skin color. I was told by other consults that the cuts were too deep and I may never be able to get all of it out. I am getting Laser removal sessions and here are my progress pics. Please educate yourself before investing in this and go with artists who have a long standing track record and are still in business.

The quality of lashes is not what it was, retention was terrible and all of the lashes fell out (except 2-3) within that week. I went to reschedule our upcoming lash appointment on March 30, it automatically canceled it. When I reached out to her, there's no response. She's keeping the deposit, which is fine, but it just didn't sit well with me considering how much I tipped her and support her over the years.
