Henley and Leigh are quite possibly the most spectacular beauty professionals I have ever encountered. In looking for a salon where I could address my many desires to look my best, I discovered this gem in my favorite part of my neighborhood, in the most charming building. Dawson does not disappoint in atmosphere, decor, or delivery of transformative beauty services. I was started off with a super informative consultation where I had the privilege of meeting both these beautiful and talented women, which I followed up with a micro blading session, then most recently, a haircut. Henley is an artist and a pro and has done a fabulous job with my brows, and my heart, holding my hand through the transition times of the brow technique, and priming me for future aesthetic self improvements. Leigh then gave me quite possibly the best haircut I have ever had. My self esteem was catapulted into another dimension by the Goldie Hawn/bad girl style I walked out of there with. This review is late, but I figured better late than never! I was looking for a place that did lash lifts and lash tints and Blink Atelier caught my eye. After researching different places, this seemed like the best bet for what I was looking for and it had the best reviews for this type service. I wanted a lash lift before a trip I was going to and was hoping to I could get it sooner than later since it was only a week away. I sent an e-mail on a Thursday night and I had a response by that next morning. The eyelash specialist, Haley, was able to answer my e-mail right away and fit me in for a lash lift and tint that coming Saturday morning. I have issues with skin sensitivity so I asked many questions beforehand about the procedure, the type of products used, etc. etc. Haley was able to answer all questions and concerns I had over e-mail before I went to the actual boutique. Blink Atelier is located in a cute area, Broadway, and the street it is on was very welcoming. Also, there are a lot of different shops and food around the area which is good for before or after your appointment! I had to wait a little bit as there was a patient before me, but once she was done, I was attended to right away. Haley went through the products she uses and addressed my concerns with my skin sensitivity. Once I was at eased, we dived right in! Since I have never done anything like this before, I didn't know what to expect, besides what I saw on online videos. These padded adhesives are placed on your eyelids and right below your lower lashline to protect your skin from the product used to give your lashes a lift. It was awkward at first because you don't want to open your eyes, but once you get used to it, it is actually quite comfortable as you are laying there. The whole curling/lifting process took around 40 mins after that, she tinted my lashes a dark blue (but I really couldn't see that big of a difference unless light was shining on my face). The whole process took about an hour and the results were great! My lashes were nice, perky, and curled and it was crazy how I didn't have to use an eyelash curler anymore. I noticed that if any of the lashes went askew, all you had to do was re-wet your face/eyes and the curl would be back to normal (like a regular hair perm when you want it curly again). It's been 2 months since I've had the lift and within the past couple of weeks is when I noticed the curl starting to go away, mainly because of eyelash growth. This service is definitely more of a treat and not a necessity since it is on the pricier side, but if you have a special occasion, or a trip where you don't want to bother with mascara or eyelash curler, I would recommend this! It was great at first; booking for lash lifts and facials for about 3 months consecutively. I was greeted, twice, for two booked and confirmed appointments with "we don't see you on the schedule"--only to be shown I was a regular client, and was emailed a confirmation for that time and date. I was seen begrudgingly, and was made to feel like their error was my fault. I've left voice messages 4 times in the last two months; in attempts to book an appointment (as my previous efforts online were a "problem". Now that lash lifts are more common in Seattle proper area, I've found another salon who can honor and accommodate for bookings. I cannot possibly say enough amazing things about Leigh! She has been cutting my hair for over 10 years and could not imagine letting anyone else touch my curls. I moved way from Seattle 7 years ago, and I drive five hours from eastern Washington to see Leigh. My favorite thing about Leigh is that she always knows exactly what my hair needs. It is the best experience I think that a stylist can offer. I never have to explain anything, if I am having any thoughts I share them, but as soon as I sit down I can tell that she has vision for my hair. I know that I am in good hands and all I need to do is relax. I love too that she never lets me get stuck in a rut. Over the years we have done numerous different cuts and styles, Leigh has made sure my hair evolves in a way that is comfortable and authentic to me. Before seeing Leigh I had always tried my best to seek out stylists that had a reputation for cutting curly hair but I have never had anyone understand my curls the way that Leigh does. I had such a hard time finding someone in the Seattle area that could give me a good layered haircut, like I had when I lived in SoCal, that after a while I stopped trying and would fly down there to get my hair cut. I then met a woman who had a gorgeous cut, and asked her who was doing her hair, and she gave me Leigh's #. Since then I haven't needed or wanted to go back to Cali just to get my hair done. I first came to Blink after having extensions done elsewhere (another salon in another city). These extensions were painful to the point of my eyes swelling. Haley took one look at me and said, "Oooh, girl those LOOK like they hurt. They need to come off." About half an hour later, the painful lashes were gone and she had sent me home with biotin to help the healing process. I had originally wanted new extensions to test out for my upcoming wedding but Haley actually recommended against it since my eyes had been through such trauma and I completely agreed! I went back about a week or so later to have new extensions put on and WHAT a different experience it was from the first ones I had had done. She consulted with me on the look I wanted, had me lay back on the heated table and handed me a blanket. About two painless hours later, I had a full set of beautiful lashes. They are so natural looking- I look like me just a little more glam! Haley really knows her stuff and is very friendly and kind. The whole process was so easy which is quite a change considering my eyes stung, burned and watered throughout the ENTIRE procedure at the other salon. By the way, they told me that was completely normal and it's actually totally NOT so if you've been elsewhere and experienced that kind of pain- probably time to switch places! Whether it's a drastic change or even "just a trim" I always leave feeling like I have insta worthy fashion girl hair. I was referred to Blink by a girlfriend after my first experience with lash extensions not going so well at Luna Lash in Seattle. What did not go well at Luna Lash... -toxic fumes coming from the glue that was being used. My eyes were tearing up the whole time, I had a hard time breathing after 2-hrs of being there & even Bri was sniffling something fierce by the end of it all as well. I asked if this was the norm because it was my first time & she had said yes. :/ Fast forward to meeting up with my girlfriend & she had just had her first set put on as well. They looked amazing & her experience was completely different. It took her the same amount of time but she said she had no reaction and/or no fumes coming from the glue. She said she actually slept through the whole thing. Referred to it as the most relaxing thing ever! I decided to give Blink a try since I needed a refill & didn't necessarily want to go thru the asphyxiation process again just for lashes. The boutique/shop is so pretty, clean & serene. My lash expert was Haley & she was very sweet & knew her stuff! She examined what I had on, asked what my vision was & then gave her recco. I laid down, she placed a blanket on me & 2-hrs later had an amazing set of lashes...I mean FLAT GORGEOUS!!!! Not only did I get a restful nap but I woke up looking fantastic! The experience I had with Blink is what I had expected the first time around. They have a variety of options for lashes & will customize them for you. Best haircut I've had in years - make that ever! Curly hair can always look great leaving the salon after a great blow-out. Its too bad, because I really liked Henley who did my lash lift, and it was a good experience. But when I left I realized it hadn't worked on one eye--one eye had curled lashes, the other not. This review is for lash lift only. I have been coming here for lash lift for a year and Yani was the one who did my lashes and she was very good. Unfortunately Yani left Blink Atelier and Tara is the new esthetician. I scheduled a lash lift with her for the first time and the result is awful. I think she overused the product and my lashes ended up being uneven and chaotic. I called them the next day to see if there are ways to control the damage and they didn't even bother to call back. Very disappointing experience, especially I have been their customer for a while. Will not go back until they get some one better. read more

I started coming here for eyelash extensions when the lady I had been going to, Erika, changed salons. She always did a fantastic job and I was loyal to her. After a couple fills from her she moved away and I let my extensions fall out. When I decided I wanted to start over with a fresh set I came back to Blink Atelier (edit: that was their old name) because it's very close to me and I thought I'd stick with where I'd been last. The first time I got a full set I made an appointment for a mink set. I know for a fact that I said mink because the lady on the phone made a couple comments about how nice the mink look. Well, they did my lashes and afterwards I realized that they'd used synthetic by mistake. I only got charged for the synthetic, though, and they gave me my next fill free, so I figured it was an honest mistake and kept going back. Since then I have noticed that the lashes fall out much more readily than when I've gone elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's a glue issue or what, but I've never had this problem before. In fact, despite the fact that it was just three weeks since my last fill, today I had to go in for a new full set because they'd all fallen off. Well I made an appointment for another full mink set, which the website says is $300. At no point was I ever told that the price had changed. Once I was done and had the lashes, my card was charged $400. I thought there had been a mistake so I asked and I was told their prices went up, but the website was not up to date. And they never told me. Or had it written anywhere else. I honestly would NOT have gone there if I'd known it was going to be $400. How can they do that? It's not like I can pull them off my face and say, "never mind, I don't want these, you told it me it was $300 but now you're charging me $400." If you go to a restaurant and order a meal that the menu says is $15, can they wait until you eat it and then tell you that the price is $25? No. It's bull. They've lost me as customer. read more

Crystal warmed up my dated ombré and put a gloss on my hair and made my mane shiny, frizz free and oh so beautiful! She also hands down gives the most amazing head massages. The salon is inviting and relaxing. The sheepskin throws on the hair washing chairs are my favorite and so cozy! They use great products and offer an array of services. I Have been getting synthetic extensions for and she has done them perfectly and beautifully every time. I happened upon a groupon for a different salon with a price for mink lashes significantly lower that Blink offers so I though,why not? I guess it's true, you get what you pay for. Haley was able to fix the poor job the other woman had done and gave me beautiful, full and soft mink lashes! I love them! I first came here about a year ago, after getting my lashes down at a different place and not being happy with it. And ever since then, I've been coming here consistently. Amber is amazing!! She gets it perfect every time, and she'll customize your lashes on what you're looking for - natural-looking to full on glam. I went here for a lash lift but right after the procedure it was clear that my lashes were only slightly lifted. Not even a day later my lashes went back to how they were before the procedure- which was a complete waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this place for lash lifting to those who have straight lashes- They even told me that they have never serviced someone with lashes as straight as mine..... which is weird because Seattle is pretty diverse. I haven't been here in a while for a lash lift, but the service has really gone downhill. The gal tried to reschedule me several times because there were cancellations before me, but I couldn't because I wanted my lashes done right before my trip and after work hours only. When I arrived, she wasn't even at the salon and I had to text her. Seems like she cared more about going home than having business. She over used product and my eyes were so irritated for two days and I got a bump on my actual eyeball. The lashes weren't carefully lifted straight so they are growing in all directions and unevenly. There were cobwebs everywhere and baby spiders hanging from the card holder at the front desk. This process is remarkable! Mary took me through the process step by step and made me feel so comfortable. While all the studies tell you that the results don't appear for a few months, I was amazed at how quickly I saw dramatic results: facial scars gone, wrinkles dramatically reduced, my skin is firmer and more toned. I did a lash lift last night for the first time and I am in love! I was recommended to Haley by a family member and I am so thankful. I have had straight eyelashes all my life and finally got to the point where using a curler did not even work anymore. I have been going to Leigh for a long time because she is a phenomenal hair stylist. I currently live in the Midwest but see Leigh every time I'm in Seattle. I tried lash extensions in the Midwest but had a so-so experience. I decided to try Blink since Leigh has such a high standard of excellence. Wow! Haley spent time discussing what look I was envisioning and then proceeded to put the most amazingly natural looking set of lashes on me in 2 hrs. I was hesitant to go the fake lash route because it's expensive and I was worried about an allergic reaction (not to mention looking like a freak). But I got a very glamorous set of lashes that look amazing! It took about 90 minutes and every lash is perfect. The overall space is beautiful, the locale is excellent (though I imagine parking is a pain) and I met the owner and she was super nice and cool. The only drawbacks are that after a couple days my eyes still feel a little strange/foreign, it's a LOT more challenging to put on eye makeup around this big, batty lashes, and I keep wanting to scrub my face with soap and water and I can't really do that now. But overall I'm happy with my new batty lashes! read more

I go to blink for eyelash perms and brow grooming. There has been some employee turnover and I was less than pleased with both treatments recently. The perm was done faster than normal and looks half done now. I was offered a scalp massage for $10 during the treatment and I was told it was a new service that's being offered since there's so much waiting time. I didn't know how long it was supposed to last for, but I expected longer than the 5 mins it actually was (if that). If it is supposed to be that short I would have appreciated knowing that before I said ok. In retrospect I also should have asked. What I am most upset about is my brows. I've been growing them for 2 years and want them thick. I showed a picture of the style I wanted and ended up with half the amount of brows that I asked for. I'm overall just super bummed that I no longer trust a place I felt I could rely on for routine service. I got my hair cut and brows waxed at Blink several times over a period of a year and was usually pretty happy with my results. Leigh, the salon owner and hair stylist, postures herself as an expert on all things related to hair, and I generally felt I trusted her and we communicated well. During the time I saw her I was experiencing great hair loss due to hormone changes after giving birth to my first child. Leigh assured me that all the awkward wisps would soon go away, and to solve a different hair problem suggested I get a Keratin treatment. She assured me the Keratin would do no damage to my hair. Well, exactly six weeks after the treatment, my hair started falling out all over again. I went online and read that hair loss is not that uncommon after Keratin treatments. I was very disappointed that a hair stylist I had trusted had allowed something so awful to happen to my hair ... again. read more
