Joined Captain Jeff with my family last Sunday out of Bucksport for a beautiful cruise for 2 hours…read more Jeff asked where we would like to go and we headed out to Penobscot Bay. The captain was great at answering our questions, pointing out seals and telling us about the area. He showed us a lighthouse and overall he was great to just let us enjoy ourselves and talk while he cruised along. He is very flexible in his scheduling and such a great host. Was really cool being able to see Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows bridge from the water. Wildlife was abundant, from Bald Eagles to Harbor and Gray seals. A special day on the water with my sister and her husband from Georgia, and what a great way to share the beautiful place I live in. I'll be going out on the boat with Capt. Jeff in the future. We had a beautiful day with deep blue skies and relatively calm seas. The wind was steady and we were able to enjoy the sail as well as take great photos. Setting up with Mike was easy and we ended up being his first trip for the summer. He went out of his way to get the boat ready for us and we greatly appreciated it. As the title says... Even when you first meet her it's like visiting an old friend. My husband and I came last year in October and stayed here for an anniversary trip. The campsites were spacious and private and the trees large and beautiful. The outdoor showers were his favorite part. Everything is clean and tidy. This year we came back in the summer with our kids. It's really just a great place and we can't wait to go back next year

I highly recommend this campground. Are there rules? Sure. However, they let you know about the rules before you even book. It's literally spelled out on the website. Sue, Pete, and Dave were all really helpful. We've always stayed in Bar Harbor and never explored this side of Acadia. We only had one night booked as this is a stop on a bigger journey and I would definitely book again. We took Sue's recommendation and drove out to Raven's Point and despite the rain and fog, it was amazing. We also grabbed dinner next door at Tracy's seafood and everyone enjoyed their meals. The shower house is clean and well maintained. As someone hoping to do some night photography on this trip, I appreciate no outdoor lights except campfires after 9:30 rule. It was too overcast this trip but fingers crossed for the next.

They made for a super easy stay!…read moreThey provided everything we needed when we needed it, plenty of well behaved dogs, and great pool. We loved how quiet it was. The only thing to complain about was the 5mph speed limit with signs every 20 ft that said SLOW DOWN, etc. it was a little much on the craziness over 5 mph.
