Came to this location of Great Wall for the first time. Have been to their location in Rockville before. Bought some groceries and some lunch from their food court. What's Hot - Food court. Not every Great Wall has a food court, so that this location has one is a definite plus. Excellent price of $9.99 for a combination of steamed white rice and 3 dishes. The 3 dishes I ordered- stir fried green beans, braised pork belly, and tofu stuffed with ground beef. Excellent portions. I also purchased their pig ear. - Variety. This location is larger than their Rockville location, which means they have a more extensive variety of products, including different options/brands of their products. For example, there are multiple brands of fermented tofu, azuki beans, kelp/seaweed, tofu, etc.... There's a wider variety of snacks, sweet treats, etc... - Prices. Everything appears reasonably priced, which will also be dependent on exactly what type of product you're looking for. - Parking lot. They have a pretty decent size parking lot in front of the store, especially because this location is in a plaza with other shops. Definitely helpful. - Cleanliness. Even though this location is larger than their Rockville location, the overall cleanliness of the store is pretty good. What's Not - Food court. The quality of their dishes are hit or miss. For example, their stir fried green beans was delicious, tender, not too soft, and well-seasoned. Their braised pork belly was a bit too rough in terms of texture. Their stuffed tofu was a good flavor, but the ground beef was too rough, as well. The pig ears was pretty expensive- $15. It appears their pre-packaged dishes are priced based on weight, so be prepared for higher prices. There is also a small bakery within their food court, which is great, but the reliability also appears to be hit or miss. When I arrived, there were only a handful of baked goods. When I pinched them on the outside of their packaging, the tenderness of some baked goods seemed off. I'm uncertain what their policy is in terms of how long they leave out their baked goods. Final Answer Plan on returning in the future, but will be a little wary of their food court and bakery.

The grocery store has gone downhill and needs a code inspector to come in and check temperature for the meats along with packaging dates before someone dies from spoiled meat. An odor of durian, dead shellfish, and dried mushrooms permeates through the air, a heavy stench curtain will follow you from the store. The meat will often not have packing date or best before dates present onthe label. Blood trails from the butchering section will lead you the meats packed on cooled shelves. When asked about the meat during check out i was yelled at by a latin american employee in spanish, she said meat is good over and over.she then proceded to poke the meat in the container until the package ruptured. If i was questioning purchasing the food then, that definitely helped me come to a conclusion. I left thr store. If you ask for a manager or supervisor one will never be present.

There's an abundance of different foods at Great Wall and a wide variety of fresh seafood to buy. You can get a lunch box and pick 3 cooked dishes with rice and small soup, for $9.99. Their selection is very wide, vegetables, chicken, various pork dishes to pick from. My husband got the longan fruits which were pretty pricey but very fresh. I would have loved to browse longer but it was so cold we couldn't help but try to get out as fast as possible. It was warmer outside in the 40s than inside so come warmly dressed.

If you're in search of unique food finds, Great Wall is your place! First, I will warn you, the smells can be a bit overwhelming. With all the fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood and meats mixed together, the market has a strong odor. It doesn't stink, honestly I can't place what it smelled like, but just breath through your mouth and keep it moving. Great Wall is my go to for everything seafood. The snapper and salmon is always fresh and meaty. They will also clean and filet your fish to your liking, which is almost because I do not like to filet my own fish. The vegetables and fruit are always fresh as well. If you're in search of unique foods to finish your ethnic recipes, Great Wall more than likely has what you're looking for. Their prices are also rarely unbeaten. Snapper at Great Wall is 6 dollars cheaper than what it is at Wegmans. Step away from the chain supermarkets and give Great Wall a chance!

2 weeks ago, I bought chicken legs and thighs. The next day when I went to cook them, they had my refrigerator smelling like rotten eggs. Look it up... SALMONELLA. When I took them back for a return, I had horrible customer service. The associate and manager challenged what I was saying and trying to say it couldn't be returned, showing my the sign which says, and quote exactly, "...if there no quality issue". What is salmonella if not a quality issue? The smell filled up the whole area. 2nd Horrible Experience - When a store closes at 9:00, why is the security guard stopping people at 8:53? What's worse, he said, "They closed early." They had already been closed about 5 minutes and all of the registers were shut down. When the manager came to the door and I asked, she said nothing was wrong. I explained that would never happen at Giant, Safeway, Shoppers, etc. It was like talking to a brick wall. H-Mart from now on for me.

Best Chinese Grocery Store in Baltimore. All the best and freshest produced. From multiple types of mushrooms, to Shanghai Bai Cai, to garlic sprouts to a wide ranges of fruit- mangos, rambutans, lychee, and much much more. My favorite is to go to pick up a Cantonese style roast duck and some bbq pork to sample on the car ride home. Also I rarely cook dinner after I shop here because I will pick up some fantastic meals to go- wide selection of hot meals for an affordable price. Great fish and fresh meat section as well. Love this place! Also a wide variety of candies from all over!! Loaded up for Chinese New Year celebrations!

The parking lot is small and always crowded. It seems when I am walking by there is always an adventure happening in it. I'd suggest forgoing it and just finding street parking or using one of the nearby parking garages. The store has multiple levels inside of it. The first level is toys at the front, food to the back right and health, beauty, toiletries and dishes to the back left. The toy selection is vast with lots of cute Japanese characters. Also extensive is the food. You will traditional American brands (Kit Kat for example) in flavors that aren't typically sold in regular American stores. My only qualm is I wish I could easily discern what is vegan. I have not tried some things I'd be interested in purchasing because of that. The second level is beauty supplies. My wife has been purchasing beauty supplies from Japan for a while and was excited to know she could purchase some of them locally now. The third layer is stationary items and school supplies. There are a lot of cute notebooks, pencils, pens and erasers amongst other things. The final layer is all claw machines. I find myself browsing more than buying at Ebisu Mini Japan. That is what ultimately keeps this a three star spot.

2 Stars = RUDE PERSONNEL! Although I have purchased decent seafood here, I realized after recent…read moreinteractions with staff here that several of the Seafood counter Hispanic workers as well as the Asian personnel encountered (who staff the in-store front office) seem most rude when approached and when asked even the most basic of questions! In the past, I have merely selected my items and then proceeded to checkout, so I had no reason to approach behind-the-counter personnel . Today, however, we had questions concerning some fish we intended to purchase and also had to visit the front office. At the seafood counter, the Hispanic man behind the counter was dismissive and twice became snappy! When asked about the bass, he refused to communicate the info requested. Then at the office, the woman snatched the receipt from my daughter and was impolite. Thus, I will refrain from patronizing this market at which we received harsh tones and unnecessary abruptness while shopping and during the manager's processing of a refund for 2 packs of SPOILED, SMELLY "sushi-grade" SALMON that I was forced to return only hours after my purchase. Only when I had opened the packs of salmon did the smell became detectable! The clue should have been the fact that the expiration date was May 21, 2026 and my purchase date was May 20, 2026. Yes, I should've checked the dates before making the purchase, but seafood personnel should've removed the salmon, should have accurately dated it from the start, and should have appropriately monitored the seafood case items to protect public health. Talk about a most serious Food poisoning threat! Indeed!!! The Lotte Market EXCEPTION is the onsite MOOLKOGI Restaurant which consistently provides EXCELLENT FOOD, and A-One CUSTOMER SERVICE! Unlike Lotte, MOOLKOGI is owned and operated by a warmhearted, dedicated, very responsible, expert chef, and professional Asian businessman and gentleman whose dishes are exceptionally good, always fresh, and well priced! But LOTTE MARKET overall FAILS to meet the public expectation and apparently seems to be operated based on a mindset that providing polite and qualitative customer service is optional and unnecessary. How foolish! I will not condone such a mindset by continuing to be a patron of this market as I reject and resent its biased and exclusionary business practices.

Their prices aren't the cheapest overall, but they're not expensive either. There are a lot of options for fresh produce, and my favorite thing to buy here is the halal meat and chicken. That said, the store could use some rearranging and a deeper cleaning. The vibe feels a little different compared to other Lotte Plazas, and it seems less clean than the one in Ellicott City. The staff are nice, but they could be a bit friendlier. On the plus side, there are plenty of parking spots available.

Prices on most produce seemed reasonable. There are cases of lots of different cuts of meats and fish, including many certified Halal meats. I think the meats were a little on the pricier side as compared to a traditional grocery store, but the selection was impressive. There is a selection of many pre-packaged items. Things like standard cereal was pretty pricey whereas some other things like ramen was more in line with what you'd find at other stores. It was a rainy Wednesday morning, when I came in, so not many folks in the store. Most of the folks who were there were speaking Spanish (indeed, I was greeted in Spanish by an Asian man, possibly the owner, when I walked in), but folks at the register spoke English as well.
