One was the old apartment I lived in, and the other pickup was my partner's furniture and work tools. They have created their own inventory and clearly marked the boxes so there were no mix-ups. My craft supplies, his office monitors, kitchen appliances and family photo frames were all packed in various ways. The boxes were quite light, so we loaded them one by one, and this made us feel better. We booked a time for our building elevator, and our team worked around that time frame without wasting time. It was handled calmly, though there was a slight lag while the other person was loading the area. Everyone was very nice and informed us throughout the entire process. They delivered around 9 pm, and the main furniture was delivered to the desired location. One of the lamp shades had to be tweaked upon unpacking, but it was a minor issue. The boxes were readily available as each room's name was clearly written on the box. The move itself remained well planned and executed from start to finish, even with two pickup points. The team really had a strategy for everything.

The pickup was supposed to be latest by 7/5/21 and delivered by 7/7/21. Their agent Jason Carlucci promised me that the move was confirmed. I paid a deposit off $675 on June 11th, 2021. However they did not show up or give me accurate carrier information for my move. I have contacted them multiple times before, during and after my scheduled move through phone and email. They do not respond/answer at all. This has caused inconvenience and cost related to finding movers last minute, unable to leave on time through flight, extend my rent of the apartment and be late for my new job. They won't even return my deposit. So save yourself some trouble and DO NOT use them, they scam customers.

Moved some things into storage so I could have some free space. They were so nice, worked hard and took care of all of my items, And took the little extra time to make sure everything was secure in their truck. Speaking of their truck - I've never seen a cleaner moving truck and when we were all done after I paid they took the time to organize, fold the moving blankets and remove the tape used on them - it was so organized! What I thought would take two weekends, took less than three hours, and I was happy that I could finially relax. And even take a nap and go out for a quick local dinner. I always try to support local family businesses and King Moving and Storage is exactly that. Chip and his daughter Alison are true professionals. They did my walk through a few weeks ago and gave me a fair price in writing. No negotiating, no b.s., just a father and daughter running their family business and making moving easier for their clients, and I admit that I am one of them. True to his word, Chip and his three helpers showed up not just on time but a few minutes early. All three of his helpers were helpful, professional and genuinely nice guys. If you know me then you know how OCD I get about certain things if not everything. Well, let's just say that my area rug is perfectly centered in front of my sectional couch. Really, it's exactly where it needs to be and they moved it an inch here or there until I was completely satisfied. Chip did not ask for a deposit at the time of the walk through and just explained that I can pay him at the end of the move with a check or cash because they do not accept credit cards. Before I knew it, my move was complete, I paid Chip, tipped all the helpers and I was able to sit on my perfectly centered couch and smile. I will definitely be using them for any future moves and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a reputable moving company, and using a local family owned business is always best, this is my opinion anyway. On a side note, I am always saying Yelp is all about the friendships I have made along the way. Well in true Yelp fashion, my very first piece of mail was a thank you card from dear friends and my very first gift I ever received in my new place was an insanely generous gift from another dear friend, dear friends who wouldn't be in my life if it wasn't for Yelp. After the fact when I needed him to come back and resolve something Sebastian was in constant communication and reliable. Very bad experience…read more Movers were 20 minutes late. Then they had no mattress/box spring covers as promised when i got the quote. I had bought some originally when going to move by myself without movers but then wanted to return them since i had to book movers and they were to provide but they didn't have any so had to use my own (extra $20 out or my pocket). I was literally moving just across the street and had only a few things to move --- a bed, 2 bedside tables, dresser, standing desk, 0 boxes bc had moved everything else myself already. Out of those few things they moved- they damaged my wood bedside table (part of a matching set so now can't use both of them) and damaged my bed frame. I have pictures of both the day before with no damage which proves they did the damage to both. Also keep in mind i only used 2 hr of the 4 minimum i had to book with them. So they only had to work half the time and move a few items and still those few items got damaged just from moving them to an apartment building next door. They offered me $60 for the damage, i felt i was owed at least $200 discount but all they would come up to was $100 off. Do NOT recommend. Wish i had just finished my move myself without hiring the movers at all
