Hummingbird cupcake

I was introduced to this cafe/restaurant by one of my colleague managers. She eats pretty healthy with daily salads. We were celebrating her birthday, so I purchased a virtual gift card for her on their website via QuickGifts. Once you purchase, you can pick a gift card theme, and in a couple hours you can get it emailed to the person you are gifting. I wanted it to be a surprise since I was her birthday fairy this year, so I sent it to myself, printed it and put it in her office. We went as a large group (10 people) around 11:30 am. It was only 10 minutes from our office along I-10/Echo and in the same shopping area as Kroger, Corner Bakery and Lupe Tortilla. There's a green awning with a large sign. When you walk in, it is partly a store on the left and the cafe/restaurant to the right. The store sells healthy vitamins, treats and other health products. You definitely have to keep an open mind because everything is healthy from the drinks, dessert, food and condiments. If you are vegan, vegetarian or eat fairly healthy, this place is right up your alley. I had the chicken parmesan pasta that was a special for the day. It was a large portion that I ate a third of it and took the rest home. It came with a fresh side salad with a green dressing. I liked my food but wish the pecan-crusted chicken was crispy. The noodles were slightly overcooked but fair. The rest of my colleagues had either the same dish, the other daily special of meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans, salad, veggie patty burger, spinach and mushroom enchiladas, salmon avocado sandwich, etc. I think all but one of my colleagues didn't like it. The birthday celebrant liked her lemon bar. I didn't like my hummingbird cupcake. It was more like banana nut, and there was too much banana and nonexistent pineapple. The cupcake was also dense and not moist. The cafe/restaurant is dim, and the seating with the large tables that's good for groups is too close to the soda machine. If someone is filling their cup, you have to walk around. Where you give your buzzer and pick up food is also along that pathway with the teas. I liked the hibiscus herbal tea. It tasted like hibiscus and mint. There are board games available if you want to pass the time. It was steadily busy when we were there, so people enjoy it. The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable on the food options. It was nice to try, but I don't think I will go out of my way to return.

This is tuna steak with broccoli, kale, rice with cranberry drizzle.

They have the freshest food and creative dishes. I have tried more new foods at this restaurant than any other place in my life. I love the ambience, the food, and I am addicted to the iced green tea. They also offer goods from other countries that help the people who create them. It is my very favorite restaurant! Love this place! And don't forget the dessert case! My favorite is the chocolate dipped macaroon and my husband loves the hummingbird cupc

3/20/2023: Great store with personable service. I didn't even have to ask for assistance. A nice lady came over to see if I needed help. She was very knowledgeable and lead me to the right items. I initially knew about this place 10 years ago when I had lunch with a friend. My friend was very health conscious and after all these years, I've finally caught up to speed. I wasn't doing reviews back then like I do now, so I'm a little late, but I also have more information now than I had all those years ago. I remember the food being very good and healthy. Today my review is mainly on the store aspect. I was very impressed with the selection. I went in today to find a supplement for gastrointestinal support. I wasn't sure if I needed a liver detox pill, a tea or what. I've gotten on a cleaner living kick lately and I knew I needed something to help get me on the road to a full cleanse of all the toxic food I've put in my system. I walked out with more than I intended, not due to high pressure sales, but simply because I found everything I needed in one place. I wasn't expecting that. I only use products that are cruelty free (no animal testing), so I was also able to find my toothpaste and shampoo here. The place smells wonderful when you walk in, they have household products, food and so much more! I have a deep interest in metaphysics and I was surprised to see they carry those items too. Candles, sage for burning, oils, etc. I'm a Christian, but I also believe in the nature and energy around us. I love the full store concept of a place to eat and shop. I will definitely be back soon (won't wait another 10 years!). I highly recommend this place.

Always love the service and fabulous healthy food and beautiful garden outside to sit while you eat in the covered patio.

This is one of my favorite restaurants (and health food store) in the entire city! Their food is so good and so fresh! The employees in the restaurant and the store are always so friendly and helpful. This place has been in the neighborhood for a very long time. I always like to support small local businesses and I invite everyone who reads this to do so as well! Eat health, make good choices for your well being.

Menu is simple and the food is humble. Chicken salad is really good and it's a quick place to stop for healthy, local food.

Nice cozy cafe and health store! We ordered the fajitas and the salmon and both were delicious. Friendly staff, nice Texas vibe.

A hidden gem of healing knowledge AND locally owned!…read more I was looking for a very specific species of plant: non-GMO, cold pressed, steam distilled and sourced from the Mediterranean. Nourish Market was one of 3 locations in the greater Houston area that carried what I was looking for. I had to get my hands on this product for the upcoming flu season for my medicinal arsenal. I called and Candy was friendly and more importantly, knowledgeable. Not only did she know exactly what I was looking for but had another recommendation that exceeded my expectations. When I arrived and had a few more questions she was able to reach the manufacturer for clarification - bear in mind I was there on a Monday during slower traffic business hours. EXCELLENT SERVICE. This quaint local market is clean, lovingly organized and featured products from other local small businesses. I do extensive research on herbs and wellness products and glancing through the wellness section, it is clear their inventory is consciously and selectively curated. The health conscious and curious will have a nice selection to chose from; with the added benefit of knowledgeable staff. I didn't have as much time to explore as I wanted but I will definitely be back and be recommending Nourish Market to everyone.

Listen, if you live anywhere near Voss and San Felipe, you already know this intersection is…read morebasically the Hunger Games of upscale grocery shopping. On one side: Whole Foods, oat milk everything, and $12 strawberries. On the other: Trader Joe's, the fun cousin who brings snacks to the party but never has real dinner food. And yes, I shamelessly shop at both for the record. Whole Foods on Voss is a vibe. The store is clean, beautifully organized, and smells like fresh eucalyptus and financial responsibility. The produce section looks like it was hand-styled for a Food Network shoot. They carry a lot of local products, which makes you feel like you're supporting Houston's artisan scene, even if you just came in for almond butter. Pizza is on point as well! $12 Friday whole pizzas is a vibe. Now, the staff here? The ones I've came across have been friendly. I once asked a guy about a random spice blend and not only did he find it, he gave me a whole TED Talk on how to use it with roasted chickpeas. I respect that energy. Also, it's Whole Foods, so yes, your total might give you sticker shock if you weren't mentally prepared to spend $50 on "a few things." But overall, this Whole Foods holds it down. Whether you're doing a full grocery haul or just popping in after TJ's let you down with frozen cauliflower everything, it's a solid spot to get what you need, feel fancy, and pretend like you're the kind of person who drinks celery juice daily.

They absolutely put love into this pizza and it tasted just as great as it looked.
