We requested 3 guys and they sent 2, neither of which knew what they were doing. They were slow, one of the guys took at least 5 breaks that totaled over an hour. The guy who took all of the breaks complained multiple times that things were "too heavy". The truck was only about 2/3 full when they told me it was a full load. Instead of using dolly's to move stacks of boxes into the truck they carried one at a time regardless of its size or weight. We have moved 7 times in the past ten years and have hired moving companies every time. In our previous move we moved from Boise to Meridian and hired a company that sent 2 guys who moved all our things in one load in under 3 hours. It took the guys from Reliance Moving 2 loads and almost 7 hours to move the fewer items to our new house that was less than a mile away from the old one. They also damaged our wood floors by dragging a piano across them instead of using dolly's. When my wife pointed our the damage the guy blamed her and said she should have "put plastic over the floor". I called and messaged the company about the damage and never received a response. At the end of the move they tried to charge me more than was agreed upon and couldn't provide me with and invoice. It was clear that these guys were not Reliance Moving's "A-team" and I'm guessing they weren't even employees, but guys they hired for the day to help out because they were overbooked. If you're going to portray yourself as a professional moving company you need to employ professional movers and deliver the service that you advertise on your website.

A few of the many things I appreciated...They were polite, and very professional. If they didn't know where something went, they asked. I know it sounds simple but a lot of movers don't do that. They did not mess around either. They were working at full speed all day. They were also extra careful with wrapping my baby's things so they would stay clean. I had my infant son and my dad was helping me with unpacking and organizing and they frequently asked if either of us needed help. My dad, who had never used movers and thought it was ridiculous that I was hiring people for something we could do ourselves, said "wow!! That was totally worth it!" I will use them for my next move without hesitation and whole-heartedly recommend their services.

They seemed inexperienced and there were many problems: 1) I asked for 4 movers and 2 trucks for the whole day. After 3 hours, the two most energetic and careful guys left on another job! They came back 3 hours later and helped the other two guys finish. If I would have had all 4 movers the whole day, I think the performance would have been better. The two movers who were here all day NEVER took a break or ate lunch! It's no wonder they got sloppy, especially towards the end as they were trying to finish and go home. 2) The movers unloaded the truck full of boxes BEFORE they unloaded the furniture. Who does that? Since there were boxes in the way, some of the furniture didn't get placed where it should have been. And they didn't keep all the pieces of the bed together, so we couldn't put our bed together for a week afterwards until we found the missing piece in the garage. 3) They stacked big boxes on top of little ones. 4) They had to open the door of the refrigerator to get it through the narrow doorway, and they broke off the lower rack on the door. We've never found it so I suspect they threw it away. They also broke my bird bath. It was intact and fine in the storage unit but when we checked in on the patio (to add water), the top was on the ground and the base was beside it. The concrete was broken and unable to be fixed. 5) There are multiple dings, scratches, and dents on our walls. They were not careful with furniture, seeming more concerned with speed than being careful. 6) Even though boxes were labeled, we found boxes misplaced throughout the house. Boxes that should have been in the basement were placed in the garage and vice versa. Many boxes were placed with the labels facing the walls, so we had to move stacks of boxes to even see what the box contained and to figure out which room the box was supposed to have been placed in. 7) They obviously got in a hurry at the end and haphazardly threw the remaining items in the garage. There was no rhyme or reason to the placement of items; it was clear they simply dropped items wherever there was space available and without regard as to which room the item was supposed to be in. I left a message requesting that the owner Dan call back to discuss the poor performance and broken refrigerator door. He never did. Although this company had a lower hourly rate than some of the other moving companies I called, I would rather have paid $10 more per hour for better quality service. You really do get what you pay for. You'd be better off paying minimum wage to a couple of high school students and treating them to a pizza than hiring this company.

Today they shut this road down claiming it is a private business road so now all residents have to drive an extra 2-3 miles in the opposite direction all because this company decided to shut down this access. Who does that? Why can't you just be a good neighbor and allow access for the 1 minute it takes to go around the lot. And the gentlemen that stands out front waving people away is very aggressive and uses awful language. When I didn't hear from them and reached out proactively, I heard excuses and a renewed promise that my quote would be issued by the next business day. Still no quote. Asked two more times. Still no quote. If I went through all that for a quote only to be stymied, I would blame the salesperson's workflow for letting me fall through the cracks. Now that I've been dumb enough to try a second time (a year later) and it happened again, I'm blaming the business's workflow. If you don't have room to store peoples' stuff, just say so. Don't string us along waiting for a quote that never comes. I really wanted to use Mesa but instead I'm using Boise Moving & Storage. They are super nice and provided a quote without delay.
