After sitting in the waiting area for 20 minutes past my appointment time, I finally had to ask the receptionist how much longer?? She informed me, after calling the nail tech, that she wasn't coming in until later. This was a scheduled appointment in their book! There was no offering to reschedule or anything other than an obligatory "sorry, it's not my fault". You run a business based on making appointments, but don't keep those appointments?! I was skeptical. But I received a nice gift certificate which I decided to use on a Well-Being Package. Yep, planned to spend all day and get a full spa experience! Well, this place isn't your Pyara or like one of those places where you can sit in the sauna between services. This is why I was skeptical... kinda wanted that complete getaway feel. But with that said... I had an AMAZING day and enjoyed every moment of the REVITALIZE package. Judy at the front desk took great care of me from the beginning. She ordered and picked up lunch for me (my own cost) from The Plate. Linda, the gal who did my pedicure and manicure also helped me feel at home. She knew I'd be around for the day so she literally said, 'make yourself at home.' I did. And the other staff were great! Making myself at home consisted of chatting with other guests (hope they didn't mind), chatting with the staff, and NOT feeling alone in a dark and hot space by myself... Plusses: + Pedi (my first) was awesome. Gentle. Exfoliated. Trimmed and smoothed. Relaxing start. + Pineapple scrub + wrap (Sara). This was also great! The massage table was uber adjustable and had an option to heat up (so nice). The scrub felt and smelled delicious and there was a shower to rinse. While the wrap settled, I received a scalp massage. After the shower, there was a mini massage (shoulders and legs). + Ate my lunch between services. + 60-minute massage (Shermese). She was awesome! She used plenty of pressure on my tense shoulders PLUS some different techniques to get through the rock of muscle, which had already been "warmed up" during the scrub. I thought this would be redundant but having two shoulder rubs made the massage so much more effective! + Toe polish (complete with base and top coats) + Manicure (looks great! let's see how long it lasts) Other: + The shower was dark and may have needed to be cleaned... but the water pressure and temperature were ideal. + A room with lockers for guests and a space to stretch would be amazing! + Watch out for polish choice; certain kinds may be an up-charge (Vinylux is $5 up charge but the colors....!!) + Call ahead! read more

I was unable to see my regular manicurist and had a weird afternoon schedule that had me in two separate places for my mani pedi. I found A New You Spa on Yelp and it's reviews and hours proved to be the best way to get a pedicure before an event. I had the express pedicure with Hoa. It was wonderful! I believe it's different from the other pedicures they offer because it doesn't have any work in heels, callouses, and legs. It still took almost an hour, which was not a problem with me because I had time available, so if I were in a hurry, I'd ask how long it would take. Despite the express not working on things a full pedicure would do, it was excellent. It took more time that I initially thought because Hoa was thorough with the nails. Cuticles were trimmed, she hand filed the shape of the nails and cleaned it all up. She was great and the pedicure chair was comfortable. I also liked the lighting and how the stations were set up. It was $26 for the express which is a bit more than I usually pay, but this is definitely a place where I'd return - great location, they close later than many in the area, and the staff were excellent. Very spendy! I wish they would ask you if you wanted the spa vs. the express pedicure when you come in. Seems like the default is the spa pedicure. Also, the 2 times I've had a pedicure here, the wait was really long. It would be nice if they let me know there would be a 30 minute wait before sitting me down to soak. I agree with one of the other reviewers who said the noise level was a little loud and gossipy. It didn't provide a very relaxing atmosphere. I also don't care for chatty nail techs either and I got a talkative one. Overall they did a great pedicure, but for the price, I prefer La Belle Visage for a spa pedicure. I had my brows done here when they first opened and they did a fabulous job - not too thin, nicely shaped - so I definitely recommend that service. read more

Went in for a spa pedicure and my expectations were blown away - I've already rebooked for a month from now AND am including a friend in the experience. Linda was a delight and pleasure, the experience was relaxing and therapeutic, and my toes look better than they've looked in ages. Pedicures have always been a thing I do when I have the time or, let's be honest, when the situation has reached the breaking point/there's a wedding on the horizon that requires open toed shoes. All of my friends go here so I got my mom a facial, spa pedicure, and gel manicure for Mother's Day and went with her. I get her this package every year and she always has something to complain about, but not here. They made my mom a very happy lady, in turn making me a very happy daughter :) They let me sit with her while she got her pedicure . I gave A New You a try after several friends recommended it - and glad I went! I went to Sara for a waxing. I personally stay away from waxing as I have sensitive skin and normally I get too irritated by the process, but Sara was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and made me feel very comfortable by the whole process. Plus, in all honesty, it barely even hurt! (a first!) The results were awesome and I was very happy with visiting this location. I had a great experience here. It is a nice, clean, and relaxing space. It is not a fancy place, but everything seems new and well maintained. The woman that did my facial (Sarah?) was very knowledgeable about her craft. She even took care of a stubborn problem area on my chin. I tend to get a zit in this particular area every now and again. I've asked other technicians at other spas and they just say it's hormonal. Huh??? Anyway, I didn't even mention the area to Sarah and once she got to that area, she really worked it. When she was done, she said that build up was there for quite a while and if we didn't clean it all out, I will keep getting pimples there. I was shocked and totally sold on this place!!! I had a deep tissue massage here and it was amazing. My back feels great, and Marie gave the right amount of pressure. The staff here is nice. When you call for the first time, you would need to provide a credit card for your reservation. You can't add tips to the card, so you must have cash on hand. Since moving closer to Boston, I've been searching high and low for a quality spa that would not break the bank. I'd been to a few affordable places that gave a decent facial, but didn't have that serene spa quality. Of course, I love the Newbury Street experience but cannot afford it more than once or twice per year. Thanks to fellow yelpers, I found a local, lovely gem that fit the bill. A New You is a heavenly spot! From the moment I walked in the door, I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist and was greeted right on schedule by the esthetician. I booked a facial with Sarah, but wasn't quite sure what I wanted. She took her time examining my skin, expertly explaining my options and came up with a custom facial rather than a cookie cutter, one-size-fits-all deal. She pampered me for 85 minutes and gave wonderful massages each time a mask was setting. My skin looked fantastic and I felt very relaxed. If I had to get nit-picky, I guess the only thing I wish they had were the heated mitts and booties that you find at some spas. That would be the cherry on the sundae :) Added bonus - products were explained, but there was no pushing for me to buy a line of skin care which is unfortunately very common at some places. And, by the way, under $100 for 85 minutes of services. As an experienced spa-goer, I can tell you that is a fantastic price. I will definitely be back. read more

I've had great spa pedicures here, excellent gel manicures, and now just returned from an incredible 90 minute couple's massage. The pedicures have always involved a disposable lining which speaks to their vigilance over good hygiene. The staff are extremely friendly. The environment is modern and very clean. The services are executed with care and quality in mind. I do not feel rushed and I enjoy conversations with the staff. The massage was sooooo good! The prices are very reasonable as well. I wanted to share my experience that I just recently had at New You Spa. I booked a facial appointment with Sara. She was incredible, very knowledgeable and attentive! It was my first facial experience and I didn't know what to expect. She walked me through the process step by step and made me feel very comfortable. She took her time to study my skin and come up with a whole treatment plan for a sensitive skin. I've been trying so many products and options in the past and nothing have ever worked for me. I've been following Sara's instructions and I see an amazing improvement! I wish I would've met her sooner! I left a New You Spa that day completely relaxed, energized and simply happy! A spa experience like no other. I just went here with my fiancé for a manicure, pedicure, and facial. It was absolutely fantastic. Sara did my facial and it was by far the best I've ever had. Not spendy at all for a higher level quality. This is not your average pedicure. It's much more thorough the the place is immaculate. Longer more intense massage, and attention to detail with foot cleanup *(exfoliation, cuticles, etc.). It's only slightly more than your run of the mill nail places but much higher quality. I went for an eyebrow wax and saw a sign for a $1/min. short massage (you choose either 10 or 15 min.) and decided to go for it. What a great decision! Best $24 I've spent recently (wax and short massage). Sarah, the esthetician, did my eyebrows and was really knowledgeable and made sure to talk about the shape and what I wanted before going for it. She told me to let her know if I wanted more taken off or anything fixed, and went back with tweezers and more wax a few times until they were perfect! I'd much rather have this happen than too much taken off, so that was really appreciated. My masseuse (Sharese, I think?) did the best 10-min massage ever - I asked for more pressure and she delivered! I feel so much better now, and will definitely be going here for eyebrows and a short massage each time, because, well, "TREAT YO SELF." I went in here the other day because it was close to home and I had heard great reviews. However, I was not impressed. I got a manicure in Essie nail polish. The nail polish came out looking sticky and old. The woman doing my nails gave me little to no attention and, after the polish was put on didn't clean up around the nail. I left with polish all over my fingers, it looks like I painted my nails at home. After she was done she looked at me and walked away, I was left to find where to sit and dry my nails on my own. While it looks mostly clean, I noticed dead bugs lingering where the nail polish was and just overall uncleanliness. and the sad part was that no one else was there, they weren't even busy!
