My sister and I went here today and it was a delight! We had an appointment at Vivian's but walked out after feeling like we had entered a chemical factory. Zara's was much nicer, with a nice smell of incense and very zen inside. They have 13 different ventilation zones compared to Vivian's one! I felt much safer there as a result. The foot bath and massage chair were wonderfully relaxing. The sisters were incredibly nice and did a great job on our pedis! They mentioned that there are companies that have offered to take down negative reviews on Yelp if they pay them $600-700. They've declined because they want to know what they need to do to improve. Wish I could give a good review but it's not possible. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi a month before my occasion. It was for my daughter's wedding weekend in which I had time constraints. They did not take me until over 40 minutes after my appointment time and with no apology. I will not be going back and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I was disappointed after my service yesterday because we have several friends that go to see Gina (owner), as well as family members, and I left feeling unsatisfied. This was my second visit and it was not the best. Not friendly, seemed like they were pre-occupied even though the salon was empty. I got a mani/pedi combination from Gina herself, and the pedicure was better than the manicure, but for the manicure they did not soak my fingers beforehand so my cuticles started to bleed. Gina did not do a hand or arm massage, as advertised. I didn't say anything but felt like I should not have to. The paint job, it looked like I did them! I wanted a clear or a neutral color and she did one coat of a light pink that came out rather rushed/sloppy. I asked for them to get fixed but felt like it was a bother for asking. My nails are rather short, but again, I left with them looking like I did them at home and not professionally done - and that is the bothering factor (picture attached from my manicure service on 2/19/20). Maybe it was an off day, but if you're in the business of nail service, then you should be on your A-game as best as you can be. Having gone before, I've had better service so I know its there. I've been going to Zara since they opened & have always had great customer service as well as quality mani, pedi and waxing. The salon is clean, stylish & zen. Never in my life have I had decent nail length until I started with the dip process, now my nails actually get so long I feel like I've had to relearn basic life skills like taking my contacts in & out and typing. Zara has new pedi chairs that take a pedicure to a whole new level... so comfortable, elegant and best massage element I've ever experienced. In an effort for my sister and I to receive a last minute pedicure we were uncertain where to go., As a rule we frequent the nail and spa in my neck of the woods, however I was visiting her. We had errands to run, and popped into several nail spas in the area. What a disappointment! They were either too dark,unpleasantly scented, and simply NOT warm and welcoming. Like they say the third time is a charm. We literally "nailed It" the second we walked in. There was a cool and calming waterfall on the wall which lent itself to a private, peaceful, and pristine atmosphere. Hannah and Cindy were the icing on the cake as they went "toe to toe" contributing to an, oh so comfortable and relaxing massage and the pedicures were impeccable. We will most definitely return to what was a very positive experience. Not too mention the Manager was adorable!!! read more

I love my nails and the guy who did them (I forgot his name) took his time and made sure they were perfect! My Mom had her pedicure by Cindy and is in love!! So good to see my mom relax a little! I had an awful pedicure. Being 7 months pregnant , I worry about getting an infection. I felt like the tools she used were not sterilized. She kept stopping to touch her phone, touched money with her gloves on and then continued with touching my feet. I just felt icky afterwards. They charge alot more than most places. For the first time ever, Yelp reviews let me down. I wasn't going to post, but it has been two days of looking at my uneven eyebrows and dealing with discomfort every time I put on my shoes. The positives are it is a nice space, very clean, ok polish selection. Will start with the brow wax. I should have know when she was still tweezing and trimming after 20 minutes the outcome wasn't going to be good, but never expected it would cause me to burst into tears when looking in the mirror. I told her to just clean them up, I like a natural brow, NOT thin and over plucked. Unfortunately, something was lost in the communication as I now have overly tweezed brows and even worse, they are noticeably uneven. Oh, and I think she pulled some skin off to boot. As for the pedicure..the good is after 2 days no chips. Unfortunately, the male tech dug so hard it's still painful and there are cuts where he was trying to pull the nail/skin and couldn't get a grip and imagine my ingrown nail is still there. Also, I'm one of those people that doesn't mind the techs talking to each other, to me it's white noise while I read trashy magazines. However my male tech (and this was the last time, the worst pedicures and don't read the I don't want to talk signals at all!) kept using my name, which is overkill after the first few times, and talked nonstop, weirdest was when he tried to draw me into a conversation about the show the "L Word" which I told him I never watched, had no opinion and didn't sit around with my friends discussing. Anyway, glad there are so many people that like Zara but I won't be back. read more

I couldn't disagree more with the 5 star reviews on this place - This facility DOES NOT USE STERIL TOOLS OR STERILIZE THE ONES THEY DO HAVE BETWEEN CUSTOMERS!! I witnessed this myself !!!! and couldn't believe the board of health hasn't shut them down! They even re-use the cheap toe spacers for painting toes. They used the same, worn down nail file on me that they used on the client before me. The work space was not clean. Let this sink in:::::The same tools using to scrap someone else's toe nail clippings, cuticles, and toe jam ARE BEING USED ON YOU! Wiping tools with towels DO NOT CUT IT! You can get Hepatitis, fungal infections, HIV (if they nicked someone and made them bleed) from scenarios like dirty tools at a nail spa .Ive been to other places before that open sterilized tools in front of you in a sterilized package, OR they open BRAND NEW TOOLS, sponges, toe spacers, cuticle cutters, files and tools. Hand/Feet dryers were dusty and dirty. Seats looked like they have never been cleaned. The pedicure tubs were not cleaned and sanitized after each client; only drained, and immediately refilled. Anyone can do a good job painting toes and fingers but a good business takes the time to properly sterilize and clean the facility. I am not surprised a few reviews here got infections!!!! Wont be going back to this place, and for future mani-pedi goers look up the board of health regulations on places like this and know if your getting your money's worth or paying for exposure to a possible infection! By the looks of the reviews they have tanked in the past few years and it shows. SO GROSS! read more

Other reviewers are right, this place is great. Awesome pedicures (with hot stones!), great manicures and decent waxing. All the ladies have wonderful attention to detail and work very hard. They even have water and sodas for all their customers. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because they tend to be a little slower than I'd like. Went here last month because all of my co workers come and I've heard so many other good things about this place. The person who did my nails cut my cuticles to far down they hurt for days and two of my nails got infected. The nail polish didn't even look good! The pedicure was ok, wasn't the best that i had. The person kept nagging me about getting the organic pedicure which i repeatedly told them I didn't want. I just wasn't impressed at all. Zara Nail & Spa just opened for business on 8/14/2010, so I decided to try them out for a pedicure & eyebrow wax today. The Spa Pedicure was the best pedicure I have ever had, it was done by Amy, and she massaged my legs & feet for a good 20 minutes. I had my eyebrows waxed by G.G., one of the owners & they came out perfect! The salon itself is beautiful, all brand new, and more like a spa than a typical nail salon. Each pedicure chair is in its own little cubicle area, so you don't feel like other people are right on top of you. The Spa Pedicure was $30 which is higher than the average nail salon, but it is well worth it for the calm & soothing atomosphere. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and I can't wait to go back! read more

Awesome upscale nail salon in Abington right on rte 18. Always plenty of ladies available right when I walk in, or just a few minute wait. They offer a cold drink, (a nice perk) and the atmosphere is comfy and classy. The manicures always come out great and last at least a wk. The pedicures are heavenly, they spend time on the massage which I find seems to be going by the way side in other salons.The staff are all wonderful, Gigi always greets me with a big hello and smile, and makes me feel welcome. I have recommended this place to my friends and they love it also. read more

I have recently been going to Zara Nails because of the high quality work. My nails last for almost a week before starting to chip! Gigi the owner is really nice and does a great brow wax! The place has a calm, spa-like feel.. love the spa music that is always playing and the sound of the little waterfall. I've had a spa manicure that was a nice change and plan to get a pedicure (although more expensive than other places) in the future. I have been going to Zara basically since they opened so almost 7 years now. They are the only salon I'll go to.. I've only been to another salon one or twice since starting going to Zara and the only reason I did was because I was out of state for a wedding. I get a gel about every 2 weeks and a pedi every couple months. I also get my eyebrows waxed here. Gigi, Gina and Cindy are all amazing. Maybe it's just because I've been going so long but I'm not sure what all these negative reviews are about. I've never had an issue with the cleanliness of the salon. Zara is the best and I will continue to give them my business as long as I live in the area. read more

I made an appointment for a mani and pedi for myself and a guest for a specific time, and when we arrived on time, the two employees had just started on 2 other customers. After waiting 15 minutes, I had to leave and go to a different salon. If you're in the route 18 area, I recommend J Nails and Spa, hands down! read more

In January I had a pedicure and the women gouged my toe so bad and that night I couldn't get the stinging to stop. By the middle of the week I had a full blown infection and needed to be put on antibiotics. They do a great job with eyebrows but I will never return for their nail services. read more

I have visited Zara & Spa on several occasions. I don't get my nails done often but this is the place I have gotten them done the most. I have had mixed experiences to be fair. Some of the employees have done a great job but also some of them have done a terrible job. For instance the polish of gel manicure peeled only after a few days. Also when getting my nails done with gel polish they have not lasted the two weeks as expected. However, I have stopped by twice in the last few months, and was turned away. The first time, I was turned away for getting a gel manicure with a remark "no time for nails". I was shocked they did not seem that busy and it was plenty of time before closing 4pm. Isn't "Walk Ins" part of what they offer. The second time was today, I went around 12:00 pm, they closed at 3pm on Sundays, not too many people waiting in fact there were only two people that I could see. I was also turned away, the lady stated that they were too busy. Base on these experiences I feel their customer service is horrible and not accommodating at all. Very disappointed I will never give them my business or recommend them! read more

This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I know it is a family-owned business so I am sure no one cares about a negative review :-( I got the sister who wears glasses. I went in for a mani and pedi. I sat for 45 minutes in cold water while she talked on the phone. When she decided to get to me she continued to talk on the phone throughout my entire pedicure. She left my nails wrapped in tin foil throughout my pedicure. I spent an hour and a half in the salon and left without my fingernails or toenails painted because I did not have time to stay there any longer. The pedicure was the worst I have ever received. I truly believe she is not licensed to perform nail services. She did not remove any cuticle, ingrown toenails, or clean up the nail bed on my toes at all. She did minimal scrubbing and NO massage. She spent most of the time filing and then asking me to hold on a minute while she attended to her phone call. At the end of this hot mess she charge me the full price and told me to come back next week and she would only charge me $15 to add the nail polish! Additionally to scrub my feet she started to used a dirty metal foot scrubber and was huffy when I asked her not to use it. So, essentially I left the salon with my nails looking worse than they did when when I came in. If I could give its ZERO stars I would. read more
