Come for the vibes, stay for the coffee chats. A perfect rest stop for those shopping at Aritzia or accompanying the shopper ;) I wouldn't say that the drinks here are anything I'd rave about, but the coffee is good, and their seasonal drinks are aesthetic. Honestly, I just feel 50% more posh & cool sitting here. And I'm a sucker for dog themed cafes. Prices are fairly standard in comparison to other cafes.

Genius marketing and concept from Aritzia! Came here to grab an afternoon coffee after buying something from Aritzia, which is linked right beside. A-OK Cafe is owned by Aritzia so it's no surprise to be seeing these coffee shops popping up. The reason for my 5 star review? Their staff. Their staff were amazing and had such great customer service! They know how to keep their customers happy! The woman running their cash at this cafe chatted me up while I was looking at the menu. Seeing that I had a large Aritzia shopping bag, she casually asked me what I got this season. It was a coat and she made me feel really good about it! The next thing I knew after ordering my coffee, she said it was on her! Comping both coffees that I wanted to get. How did this make me feel? To the moon (haha!) Genius customer service tactics that they have! Now onto the drink. I got my iced coffee with oat milk and it was creamy. nutty and had good coffee flavour. What is the most memorable about this cafe is the interior. It's beautiful, chic and a great place to hang out or catch up over a beverage. They also serve alcohol, and displays alcohol bottles on the shelves. I'm a happy customer that will be coming back! :)

I love the vibes and aesthetics of this cafe. It's very open / spacious but with just enough seating (for a weekday anyway!) We ordered a drip coffee and cappuccino. We did not really enjoy their espresso so I'll probably try their tea lattes instead next time. There is a self-serve water station at the back of the cafe which is nice. The pastries were good but -1 star since they didn't have the ability to heat it up. It would've been much better if they could and I hope that's something they change in the future!

Very good service and nice atmosphere. I got the caprese pastry, it was pretty good, except I think it would have been better if it was warmed. I came here with low expectations because I was thinking how can Aritzia make good coffee? They aren't even a coffee store! When I had my first sip of my latte, I was quite surprised they did coffee art and the coffee had flavour. One latte I wasn't sure what the picture was, but the heart tulip was adorable. The decor was very nice and calming inside, luxurious, but not overly decorated.

Vanilla latte and matcha latte with oat milk

This is a coffee shop associated with Aritzia. The vanilla latte was a perfect balance of coffee, vanilla syrup and milk. I would go back for this. The matcha latte tasted a little fishy for my liking and I would not recommend this. Service wise, the baristas were polite. Ambiance wise, it was very nicely decorated. This is not a laptop friendly place.

Newly opened inside Aritzia a cafe/bar where you can grab regular cafe food and beverage with some unique options as well like an ube latte or alcoholic beverages. The space is actually quite larger than expected with seating and nice aesthetics for photos and vibe. You can shop then enjoy a nice cafe/bar or vice versa.

This is very Montreal-esque/styled cafe inside Aritzia! It's spacious and there is plenty of room to sit. There is a "no laptops" sign which is nice to see and it might be hard for people to stay for a long time anyways cause I did not see outlet. I got an oat matcha latte and it was decent! They currently use minor figures oat milk which is the typical brand that we see at most cafes if you are looking for dairy alternatives. Perhaps they were still learning to make the drink, it did take awhile to get mine and it was lukewarm. I'll be back to check out the coffee next time. Might I add, this is a nice spot if your partner is waiting for you as you take hours to shop and try on clothes at Aritzia.

Love everything about the decor.. The green of the sofas, the lights, the mirror, the green marble tables!! Great place to catch up with friends as it is a no-laptop-zone. We only tried the matcha lattes and thought they just tasted like milk with a hint of matcha. Wasn't that flavourful so hopefully their coffee is better.

Such a cute little cafe at Markville mall! It's perfect for a date or catch up with your friends. There's a lot of seating and I saw a sign for "no laptops" which I thought was different. They want you to relax without tech distractions! The space is renovated beautifully. The drink sizes only come in "small" sizes. I wished they had larger options.

I tried the Ube Latte from the newly opened cafe in Aritzia. This drink was pretty good. The ube flavour was really strong, which I liked. I also added in oat milk, which made the drink more creamy and nutty. Although the drink was good, it was quite pricey considering the cup size.

tried a couple seasonal drinks at this relatively new location inside Aritzia at Markville the hibiscus lemonade was super pretty but i'm not big on floral flavours so i enjoyed the chai latte more - strong chai flavour w/ hint of cinnamon powder (all the fall vibes) also love their interior

Love this cafe! Taro or ube latte is my favourite drink. I also tried the mushroom hummus and chips which was okay. I like the workers and baristas who are super nice and the cafe vibe is great. They do have a no laptop policy so defiantly not a work remote place.

Service was superb with very friendly servers - so friendly that even my toddler with stranger anxiety liked them and engaged with them! Atmosphere and view were great since it was sitting on Toogood Pond. Inside was really cute too. Tables, chairs, and even the booster were clean. Zero complaints! The only thing is the washroom is the public park washroom so it's not the prettiest and cleanest; there were some bugs and some smell. In terms of the menu, there aren't a lot of choices for pasta but it makes sense since it is a bistro. Ordered the Mortadella & Burrata and Tagliatelle al Ragu. Both were really delicious and the pasta tasted fresh even though we don't know if it's fresh pasta. Had a really good experience here and would definitely come back! This spot is perfect for date nights since there are many small tables and the vibe is just a date night vibe!

La Fonte sits on one of the most enviable pieces of restaurant real estate in Unionville. Perched beside Toogood Pond, with a patio facing west, it offers the kind of sunset view that would make a mediocre sandwich taste profound. If you're taking an evening stroll around the pond, there is essentially one place to stop, sit, sip a cappuccino, and watch the day disappear. La Fonte knows this. And perhaps that's the problem. On a cool evening, we approached the mostly empty patio with modest ambitions. No elaborate dinner. No special requests. Just coffee, a couple of treats, and a front-row seat to one of the best sunsets in Markham. The greeting? "Do you have a reservation?" No. Reasonable question. What followed was less reasonable. Instead of the traditional hospitality playbook--"Welcome, let me see what I can do"--we were informed they were busy - did I mention the empty patio? And immediately questioned about whether we intended to order food - what does what we intend to order matter if a seat can be made available? We did say we would like a seat on the deck/patio. We explained that it was our first visit and, not being blessed with psychic powers, we had no idea what they served. Snarky attitude in check - with pleasantries exiting the oral interface. A menu was handed to us and we were instructed to step aside and review it. Step aside....???!!!??? As if there were crowds of eager diners stacked ten deep behind us... There was nobody. Not a single soul waiting for a table. No line. No rush. No visible crisis requiring crowd-control measures. Just an oddly defensive interaction taking place on a mostly empty patio overlooking a beautiful pond. The conversation somehow became more absurd from there. Every answer seemed to generate another hurdle, another question, another subtle suggestion that perhaps our presence was creating administrative difficulties. Eventually, we did what any rational person does when hospitality turns into a bureaucratic exercise: we left. The funny part came later. Walking around to the opposite side of Toogood Pond, we could clearly see people casually strolling onto the patio and taking seats. No interrogation. No menu review committee. No apparent examination of intent. Just people walking on past the gatekeeper and sitting down. Which naturally raises the question: Is the secret to dining at La Fonte simply to ignore the front-of-house operation altogether? Not that we'd ever do that. Most of us were raised to believe civility matters. You wait to be seated. You speak politely. You respect the establishment's process. But La Fonte provided a fascinating case study in how that social contract can break down. Because when courtesy is met with indifference, and curiosity is met with suspicion, one begins to wonder whether good manners are simply putting oneself at a competitive disadvantage. The tragedy is that none of this has anything to do with the food. The kitchen may be wonderful. The coffee may be excellent. The patio is unquestionably spectacular. The problem is that the first course served at any restaurant isn't food. It's hospitality. Perhaps what seems to be nepotism at the gates is not the best hiring practice. And on this evening, La Fonte managed to take one of the most beautiful dining locations in Unionville and make it feel strangely unwelcome. That's a remarkable achievement, though probably not the one they were aiming for. Carpe diem, indeed. Just don't expect anyone at the front door to help you seize it. JEERS!!!

That level of care really comes through in the cup; you can taste the depth and intentionality in every sip. I ordered the vanilla bean iced latte, and it was easily one of the best espresso bases I've had in a while. The shot itself was rich and layered: deep, chocolatey, and nutty striking a really nice balance between bitterness and acidity. It finished with a smooth, almost creamy note that made the whole drink incredibly enjoyable. The only downside is the size-to-price ratio. At around CAD $8.50 for what felt like a 10 oz drink, it's definitely on the pricier side for something that goes down this easily. Still, I'd absolutely come back when I'm in the mood for a more premium coffee experience. (Funny note - the barista and I had a small rant together about how people order "iced cappuccino" and macchiato expecting Starbucks milk sugary drink instead of the "proper" shot with dollop of foam. I understand their pain hahah)

My cousin and I arrived shortly after opening on New Year's Eve. The cafe has a small interior with minimal seating, mostly bench seating along the wall with small round coffee tables. Even though there was only one barista working that morning, she was efficient at taking orders and making drinks despite several orders happening at once. We did not feel like we were waiting very long. I ordered a pour-over with the Finca El Paraiso Peach Colombian beans, which use a thermal shock washed process. That was something I had not heard of before. The tasting notes listed nectarine, tropical fruit, and caramel, and it was recommended since I was looking for something more out of the ordinary. I enjoyed the wilder flavor profile, but it was hard to fully appreciate because the coffee tasted overly diluted. The barista mentioned she used a 15g to 250g bean-to-water ratio, which is higher than how I normally enjoy my pour-overs. My cousin ordered a flat white with whole milk that was very creamy with strong espresso notes. We also ordered a matcha latte for my other cousin, which was apparently too creamy. Overall, the beans themselves were good, but the pour-over leaned watery for my personal preference. The bag of beans used for the pour-over was priced at $32, which is only a bit more than double the cost of the pour-over itself. In hindsight, I felt slightly ripped off and should have just bought the beans instead.

I bought a couple of buns as a customer since then and I'm hooked! Bun Appetit is located at Commerce Gate. It's located closer to Highway 7. It's around the corner from Kinton Ramen, which I have been to a handful of times during the pandemic to pick up good eats. I found a parking spot steps away from Bun Appetit on a Wednesday evening at around 6:15 pm and backed in to it. It's easier to find parking when it's a weekday, in the afternoon. Bun Appetit's breads are naturally fermented for 168 hours. I liked that all buns and breads are gut-friendly and low on the glycemic index. I'm always interested in lower sugar options. I have sampled these items: - Baguette - Whole wheat walnut vegan bun - Lychee bun - Raisin earl grey bun - Oreo chocolate delight bun - Matcha pistachio pretzel - Whole wheat German pretzel - Yeast loaf with Nutella They were all delicious. They were soft and airy. My favourites were the whole wheat walnut vegan bun and the Oreo chocolate delight bun (also known as the messy hands bun). The former had whole walnuts that were so crunchy and fresh. The bread was chewy and soft. The messy hands bun used dark chocolate. It was also fluffy and soft. It lived up to its name. I had messy fingers just eating a morsel! It has 9 g of sugar, which is practically nothing being fermented. I liked how unique the flavours were. I loved the smell of the lychee bun. I wish it had lychee pieces in it. Instead, it was wine-infused and that flavour overpowered everything. I loved the yeast loaf with Nutella as a dessert option. I nearly picked up a loaf after this event was over! As a parting snack, I got the truffle mushroom one. It was the last one. I love mushrooms. It was super delicious with truffle oil, enoki mushrooms, spinach, garlic, and melted cheeses on top. The bun was soft and perfect. It was such a gourmet bun. I have since returned to get more buns: - Strawberry beetroot - Chocolate arancia The strawberry beetroot bun was fluffy. I decided to cut it in half. To my surprise and joy, it had whole strawberries in it. Wow and yay! I love fruit, but I wasn't expecting so much of it in this bun. I loved it. It was naturally sweet from the strawberries. The beetroot wasn't noticeable in flavour. I feel it added colour to the triangular bun more than anything. The chocolate arancia was equally as unique slicing it in half. This bun had candied orange bits in it. It tasted so good with the chocolate morsels on top and the subtle chocolate flavour in the bun itself. It was delicious. I need to return for more. I have found the buns of my dreams, which sounds odd and funny. It's all true! I paid with a credit card. You can register your phone number to collect points towards goodies. I'll be back. (185)
