Found this cozy Italian cafe overlooking Toogood Pond while exploring Main Street Unionville :) We had the Cuore Panini, Soup of the Day with Sourdough bread, Apricot Croissant, Hot Apple Cider, and a Camomile Tea The 'bread' for panini sandwich was actually a pizza dough; it was a very tasty dough! We also loved how hearty and loaded the soup was with beans, veggies, and sausages!

    Love this!

I stumble upon this italian cafe gem the other day, and I absolutely love it. This place used to sell burgers and hot dogs near Toogood pond in Unionville. If you happen to be taking a stroll by Toogood pond, please stop by this place for a quick pit stop and enjoy some of their yummy pastries. I didn't get a chance to try the coffee/latte today as it was already in the late afternoon. But their pastry is so flaky and so good! The staff is so friendly, chatting with me and letting me know how long they have been opened for etc. I love the environment and the location, you get a nice little view of the pond in unionville. Would definitely come back to check out their brunch menu.

La Fonte is a hidden gem tucked by the Too Good Pond--part bakery, part café, part pizzeria, and completely delightful. The space is small, cozy, and romantic, with a beautiful view of the water. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret worth sharing. If you're grabbing a coffee or a cannoli, outdoor seating is your best bet (and honestly the best option on a sunny day). But if you're there for the pizza--and you should be--make a reservation and dine in. The pizza looked next-level, and we're already planning to come back just for that. Perfect date spot material: sip something good, share a bite, and take a peaceful stroll around the pond afterward. Maybe even wander into the nearby boutique shops in Unionville. In short: take your wife. Thank me later.

A cute, quaint lunch spot right beside Toogood Pond. I think it's been open for quite a few months now but I didn't hear much traction about it until I saw a recommendation on Tiktok. It's really close to me so I said I have to go! We went here on a rainy day (unfortunate, because I wanted to see the beautiful views of the pond) and sat down shortly after lunch menu started at noon. There are not a lot of seats so be sure to come early or be prepared to wait (they do not have reservations), but I think this will be less of a problem when summer begins and patio seating opens up. The menu has an assortment of pizzas, sandwiches, salads, and soups. We got the following to try: - Rapini and Sausage Pizza: This was delicious. The rapini was slightly charred, the cheese was ooey gooey goodness, and the sausage was very flavourful, a little spicy. Dare I say this was better than the pizza I had in Rome? Very impressed. 9/10 - Soup of the Day: We got this with the sourdough bread (which was perfectly toasted and not too chewy, just how I like it). The soup had spicy sausage, some potatoes and vegetables. A nice addition to the rainy weather outside. 8/10 The price is a little bit steep (more on par with downtown Toronto restaurants) but I still think it is very worth it. Service was excellent and quick. They also have a cute pantry where you can buy some pastas and tomato sauce to support small businesses (I found it a little funny since none of the menu items were pasta - maybe soon?). Definitely worth a try if you are here on a nice summer day and walking along Main St Unionville!

Carpaccio with burrata ....always one of my favourite salads!

Located next to the pond in Main Street Unionville this place is so unassuming. Honestly looks like you're going to dine in a public bathroom but when you walk around the corner you are presented with the CUTEST restaurant wtih patio seating outside and a few hightops inside. Love it! Authentic Italian coffee (I had 2) Delicious desserts (had some to go) pizzas / pastas / paninis or sandwiches...to die for. Love this place! And the service staff arrival soooooo friendly! LOVE IT!

I have to say if I've been in Markham my whole life and I'm surprised I never tried this place…read more I would have to say this place is one of the best Italian places I ever tried in my life. I have to say they're are a little cheap as it was my birthday I thought they would give the dessert for free but they charged for the dessert it's all good, let's start of with the calamari, really crispy and tender in the inside expensive like crazy, for entree we ordered rigatoni vodka, papperdalle funghi, and chicken Parmesan, the rigatoni vodka was out of this world, very creamy pasta was cooked al dente and they make fresh pasta here, that's a first, the vodka sauce tasted delicious had a rich tomatoe flavor but super creamy, the papperdalle funghi tasted amazing as well and the chicken Parmesan tasted amazing a billion times better than Sugo. The service was excellent, the waiter was attentive, and the ambiance just seemed a bit claustrophobic as there wasn't much space in the restaurant, if you want to eat here for dinner it is highly recommended to reserve online. Just if it's your birthday don't expect anything for free I forgot to Mention the chocolate cream pie probably one of the best desserts I have ever tasted the filling was so creamy and had the right amount of sweetness and the crust was perfect.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza, Orecchiette Sawsage Rapini pasta and calamari fritti to share. The food was delicious, I loved the pasta however the prices are definitely on the higher end. They have a patio which is nice come summer time. However, I wouldn't come here just for a meal on a regular day.

I think one of the best Italian restaurants I've been too so far…read more I had the calamari and bruschetta, the calamari was good well seasoned the bruschetta was my favourite, the tomatoes and the feta cheese worked perfectly together. I had the special very expensive 50 bucks wild mushroom ravioli, with rack of lamb, portion size is massive, the lamb was cooked perfectly and the mushroom ravioli was one of the best pasta I ever had. This once every ten years because it is very expensive. The dessert was really good a gelato really tasty and not too sweet. The service was excellent the server was really attentive and brought more bread, and the ambiance is really nice I can't believe I never heard of this for all the years I lived here

Most of the restaurant is quite tight and close, but the bar area is probably the most snug. It wasn't too busy when we sat down, so service was fast; even when it got busy we had no problem getting the attention of a waiter/waitress to get what we needed. Calamari - One of the top calamari batter I've ever had. The batter was fluffy and still crispy, the perfect compliment to a nice chewy calamari. Wished the calamari was a little thicker to give it more of a chew and a bit more seasoned. Fried peppers were a nice touch! would get again. Sofia Mia Pizza - This was an absolutely amazing pizza. Crust was not the best but the toppings stole the show. Normally I don't like goat cheese, but that was balanced by the fruitiness of the fig and the balsamic reduction. The prosciutto brought on some meaty flavours while being balanced by the caramelized onion and arugula. Would come back again for this. Cheese wheel pasta - some mushroom pasta - A bit of a gimmick in my opinion, but it was a fun experience. The head chef comes by and does the final touches of the pasta in the cheese wheel. The pasta itself was a bit lacklustre for me. It lacked flavours compared to a saucier pasta, probably because they wanted the parmigiano cheese more forward. Nice to try, but would not get again.

The toasty bread was perfect for the snowy weather, toffee caramel drizzle wasn't too much, and the candied walnuts was a genius addition. We always get their kale salad and gigantic meatball spaghetti with an extra meatball whenever we go, this time was no exception. We've also ordered their limited time festive blood orange and cranberry bellini. It was a tasty punch; just too bad the glitter sank to the bottom, or it would have made a better photo. I was a bit disappointed because I asked specifically which of the Christmas cocktails looked prettier, and was told the glitter makes it really festive. Later in conversation the server said the liquid glitter sinks to the bottom so customers can only see the glitter when the drink is almost finished. So I suppose it was known to the staff. Service was great, server apologized for the long wait for the cocktail, and explained the bartender had to make 20 cocktails for a large party, hence the wait.

Upon arrival, we were promptly taken to our giant long table. I was also very impressed by the interior of the restaurant. It was appeared like farmhouse setup, with wooden frame and arches, brick walls and a big size bar. I got to try some of the hand stretched mozzarella dishes like naked. It came with butter toasted bread and sea salt. The mozzarella was so delicious, such good quality. I kept eating it until the entree arrived. I got the Mediterranean salmon for entree. The fish was cooked excellently. Moist in the middle. But some of the ingredients, especially the white beans didn't go well with the salmon. I left of it in the plate, just ate the fish and the spinach. I ordered the pineapple mango (spirit free) drink. Loved the flavor of it. Our server was such a champion. He handled this huge group of diners with ease, took everyone's drinks, appetizers and entree orders correctly, not a single error. Several other staff members helped him out with serving and cleaning out empty plates. Overall we had a wonderful dinner together here.
